| The proposed desalination plant in Melbourne. apparently the super concentrated brine will be dumped in the ocean to be carried away and diluted in the ocean. Do the residents of Tasmania, New Zealand as well as other pristine Islands around this area realise the destructive force this will turn out to be?? or am I just paranoid?? even for Victoria, wont the coastline be efd by all this? |

"Why are so many up in arms about it?"
It costs lots of money (taxpayer's) and there is the residue (concentrated salts). It isn't a perfect solution and the problems desalination creates need to be dealt with too.
Perhaps we need to deal with the reasons why we don't have access to as much water as we used to have?.
The amount of water on this planet has never changed; the ratio of litres/person has....? |

| OK. Industrial uses both Private & Government have greatly Increased. Our Water gets Sold to overseas & we then Import some of it back at inflated prices. The Population of the Plant has Increased dramatically, & continues to INCREASE as it has done from Day 1. Unless the ratio of water per person Decreases accordingly with the Population Rises, we ALL will have Less & Less to drink, as has already happened! AUSTRALIA, is well on the way to Becoming Over Crowded. Millions MORE People to use the SAME Amount of water & resources obviously means that what we have got is used up much Faster! (even you should be able to work that out!) .... We cannot go Back to what things were,(unfortunately), But we Can STOP more people from coming in! IF we had a Prime Minister with Balls! .... Desalination Plants Should HAVE been built in the 50's & 60's!! In South Australia, Water from Sewerage Treatmant plants is already being used IN their DRINKING WATER & has been for Over 20 Years!! & You are whinging about desalination? HA!! Why don't you just leave & go to a better country if you don't like this one? |

Sorry guys I have zero faith in the Brumby govt. , take the MyKi ticketinf fiasco to date & it's not even running yet it has cost the poor Vic raxpayer $1.35 Billion $$ , they could have bought installed the efficient Hong Kong & Tokyo ticketing system (the same system) for $400 Million..
Look at the violence in the streets with the state govt unwilling to curb it ..
These f00ls couldn't run a bath..
I blame the stupid laborite drones for voting them in.. |
