| It's sad the way this great city has now been taken over by brawling Yobbos , 2 weeks ago I went to the Princes theatre with my wife , after the show we decided to go to Pelligrino's in Bourke St.. only to see a brawl over the opposite side of the road with about10 males , we got out of there quick smart walked around the corner & saw 2 police in Spring St booking cars I mentioned there was a brawl down the street & one said "We are from Traffic operations & can't help" , what a disgrace , obviously revenue is more important , we have a totally inept state govt with no balls to tackle this ... |

| You should have taken the reg of the police car and reported them. Just cause they're traffic cops doesn't stop them from attending brawls. In fact most traffic cops I know go lights and bells to brawls, gives em another chance to drive fast - which is what they love to do. |

It did with these heroes , they wouldn't even radio for other police to attend , I remember 10+ years ago you would see cops wakling the streets nowadays seldom or never seen, the state Govt seems more interested in revenue measures... not good as we read weekly about innocent people subjected to violence .. we should be able to go out & not run the gauntlet of these yobbos |

| Nothing is new about the violence in Melbourne, or the lack of police acumen!!Back in the 60s and 70s there gangs of young guys roaming thge streets of our suburbs looking for fights. In the 50s these would have been dealt with by the 'bodgie squad'. However a minute later the police couldn't move to deal with what was an obvious threat. The gangs were so conspicuous, yet the police wouldn't even try to use laws related to riot, or association on them. I personally ended up at age 23 fighting (alone) for my life against one of those gangs in South Caulfield. They were on the street every Saturday night in the same place outside a picture theatre looking for trouble. The police KNEW THEY WERE THERE!! I was 'one out' against 14 of those heroes, and they were trying to 'kick him to death'!!! (As one of them shouted). This garbage occured in phases in the old days, and each phase usually ended when someone was killed, and all the idots scattered like rabbits. |
