Frankston North Reply to this message
------------------------- ------------------------- ------------------------- -----

I think Frankston North deserves it's own thread with all the great changes that are going on there. The area is going through a major Gentrification process and not soon enough!

I just purchased my third Property in Frankston North for $218k
It's a nice 4 bedroom house on a flat regular shaped 715sqm block. Double Garage! At first I was a bit nervous about moving into the place for 6 months so I could get the FHBG but after spending a week there I love it. This area seems to quickly be losing it's stigma. People are taking pride in their homes and there only seems to be 1 or 2 bad eggs in most streets. It's on the Northern Fringe. Across from the Seaford Hotel...... this really is a great place for First Home Buyers to Purchase. In my street the Neighbours are very friendly and you don't really see anyone

It's 1 km from Eastlink, 2.5km to Seaford Beach down Seaford Rd and we have Aldi, IGA, Pizza shops, Fish & Chip shop, Chemist, Dry Cleaner, McDonalds, Child care, Schools, Hairdressers, Doctors, Service Station all at the end of the Street. Regular bus service to Frankston & Dandenong down Frankston Dandenong Rd.....
St. Kilda Footy Club are moving in behind the Belvedere Shops 400m down the road and we are also getting a new Frankston Bypass soon around the back of here.
Been speaking with Council and they are very keen to do more improvements around the Northern Tip including streetscape works on Frankston Dandenong Rd and tree planting....
I'm hoping this momentum continues!!!
Anyone else have investment property here?

You are correct re Frankston Nth (a.k.a. "The Pines") losing its stigma - there is very little trouble in the area these days. I remember the Pines in its heyday - Police wouldn't venture into the estate without backup.

The sh!theads that once lived in the area have either moved out or are doing time. I live in Carrum Downs which is adjacent to Frankston Nth - unfortunately my area is becoming "the new Pines" (I am referring to the way the Pines used to be). We are experiencing many problems with anti-social behaviour, drugs, teenage gangs, hoons, etc.

My sister recently bought an investment property in Frankston Nth.

I lived in Frankston for a couple of years, I personally hated the people.

Great beaches though and best Indian restaurant which I still drive a couple of hours to get to.

I just think the houses on the whole are ugly as are the streets, South Frankston is much nicer, but I am very glad to have moved.

Seems that this is exactly what's happened, unfortunately for you.

Re:Frankston North Reply to this message
What confuses me is this bit.....

"I just purchased my third Property in Frankston North. At first I was a bit nervous about moving into the place for 6 months so I could get the FHBG but after spending a week there I love it."

If this is your THIRD property how are you claiming the FIRST home buyers grant? Just curious and I am sure there is a very simple explanation.....

Re:Frankston North Reply to this message
frankston noth was a housing commission estate that sold off the homes,, to the original tenants,,,, who then sold to greedy landlords,, who want to get in on the act,,, as there are hundreds of families if not thousands living below the poverty line in and around Frankson, this is a place ,,,,the greedy investors have turned into their eldorado for charging high rents,

You of all people shouldn't be critising others especially as all you ever post is illogical badly thought out drivel. Frangston is a shit old and will always remain one.

About 99+% of ALL the Shit, comes From DANDENONG, NOBLE PARK, & Surrounding Areas!!! They come here to do their deals & cause trouble away from their home. & We here , are left with a bad name we DON'T Deserve!!!!

Re:Frankston North Reply to this message
Put it this way,,,,, IFF they passed a Law to allow Frankston Residents to shoot Any Druggie/Drug Dealer,Scum.Criminal etc. that were not residents themselves, but had come to Frankston to do their dirty deeds, Then,,,, Within 1 Year,, DANDENONG & NOBLE PARK Would become 'Ghost Towns!'(due to the sudden demise of a large amount of THEIR populations!!)

Re:Frankston North Reply to this message
sorry easy, but you're wrong. I worked in Frankston for a couple of years, there are plenty of shyte who live there. Lots of druggies and burglars. Frankston South isn't too bad, but then you have all the shyte still living close. Went to many burgs on houses in Franston South..... Also worked at Chelsea for a couple years, it's not much better, beach side of the highway of course is good, but there were still plenty of burgs committed on those houses - usually by scum from Seaford and Franga.

Re:Frankston North Reply to this message
easytosnodden - I agree with lilacz on this one. I have worked in & around Frankston for the past 15 years (particularly around the Young Street area outside the railway station where all the druggies & ferals congregate).

Through my job I know first-hand that the majority of these P.O.S. are locals.

Frankston does in fact have the rep it deserves. Although I have never had much time for Sam Newman he was spot-on when he canned Franga!

Re:Frankston North Reply to this message
I just purchased my second property in Frankston North. The area really is changing, alot of first home buyers have been buying homes here because they have been forced out of the market in other areas of Melbourne. Council is also putting in alot of work to improve the streetscape around here. It's easy to turn your nose up at an area but I can tell you Frankston North really is a lovely suburb to live in now. I'd much rather purchase here than Werribee, Sunshine, Melton, Lalor, Epping, Cranbourne or any of the other cheaper locations to buy a home. For gods sake we are 1-3km from one of the nicest beaches in Melb here!

I've lived and worked in many suburban areas of melbourne, north, south, east, west and in the CBD. I can tell you now that there are drug dealers, gangs, hoons everywhere. It doesn't mean that the profile of an area wont change. Try rent or buy a house in chelsea cheap.

Re:Frankston North Reply to this message
Frankston North are getting higher rents than many other parts of frankston, you see the more rent charged pushes out the bad apples as they are unable to offered to live in the area any more, and therefore it attracts more families, this stimulates the growth in the schools, shopping, and so on, i my self like the frankston north area and feel that one minded people such as yourself have been the cause of the on going stigma things are changing, and i for one could not be happier.
