Have we not learn't anything from the experiences of the past ? Take a look at the present housing commission high rise and the disgracefull social problems that have been created and remain to date in the surrounding areas. Flemington, Collingwood, Carlton, Nth. Melbourne.......... Certainly the purchase ($8.5M) and development costs of this proposal could be put to greater use rather than another high rise development in no less that ELIZABETH street Melbourne ? The Gateway to Melbourne ! Whats next Mr. *** by.............Collins Street ! Lets not stop here, why not turn Spring Street into rehabilitation and half way house ? So what if it is in New York, its definately not in Time Square ! This proposal is nothing more that a band-aid proposal and an abuse of taxpayers funds.

| i think its a great idea, the homeless need this, and i am glad that this is going to happen. At least they will be off the streets and in a safe place.But they needdoctors and socials workers there to help these people to get back on their feet and some teachers to education them and put them on the right path. |
