in brisbane my uncle lost his mobile phone on the front seat of a taxi. when he realised he had lost it he rang his phone company to put a stop on the phone. there had allready been 20 calls to india on it (yes the driver was indian).
i cant remember having a bad experience with any taxi. they are much appreciated at 3am in the morning when you just want to get home. |

From now no taxi driver will pick up u for chapel street because they cant drop u where u want to be dropped off.It will cost them 110$ for a $15 or even less.They are also right due to less parking or drop off and pick up zone.No standing or no parking drop or pick means 110 dollar fines.So guys u all need to control urself and ask ur local council if u want a better service.And main thing u all(99%)need to change your behaviour and try to help the taxi drivers who are taking you sobers to your home safely.U all need to think about this or try to work as a taxi driver for one week and u will get the result.

| Hi, Its easy to say when you are not driving cab. Have you ever realized about how safe these drivers when drunk people hire cab at night time. I suggest, Just try this job for onw week, you will find the answers for everything. You only want, but do not give something. |

| You use students money for your centerlink payment. These people work hard and pay for thier expenses, not like you, beg from govt for everything (study, living etc) and then govt begs from students. You want respect when you go to other countries make scenes even when you are fault, but do not respect anyone else.. just wake up everything is changing now.. see how much aus govt is dependent on china and other countries. If you dont grow up we all have to face insult in whole world. 3rd world is becoming super power. |

Yeah right. Driving a car for 8 hours is really hard work. Must be so stressful pretending to get lost and then overcharging your clients while trying to perve up their dresses |

hi ,I am agreed with this message that they lost the mobile phone in the taxi and they found someone called to india. According to me if i say we all have four fingers in one hand and all fingers are different to each other same that way all the drivers are not same , some can be very nice and some of them can be corrupt.There is one more condition that some time customers forget their belonging in the taxi and might driver is not aware of that but may be a new customer come and pick the left phone {mobile }so end of the day the old customer who lost his mobile he would think the phone iss with taxi driver .
I would like to give suggetion to everyone that take care of your belonging so you can avoid the situation where you can blame the taxi drivers .

So you all say that melbourne cabbies are not worth it. I hope all of you posting have some kind of job with pay and work comp and superannuation leave pay sick pay and what not. Ask a melbourne cabbie what he has....nothing. Well you expect the world class service and some people say london cabbies know thier way around. OK forget aussie dollar and pay a melbourne cabbie in sterling...i am sure the docs and engineers...who are driving the cabs can really memorize the whole melway. Oh yes credit card fraud. Well u r reluctant giving ur credit card info in internet, then why a cabbie. You really trust him/her. Jeez as I said working conditions atrotious, then racial slurs, then drunks, and the list can add on. Well as a melbourne cabbie, I would say melbournians deserve what they pay for. Tell me anyone asking a question to the State Goverment or the VTD...why taxi drivers dont have sick pay...well they dont fall sick do they, why no work comp...well there life risk is negligible...why no super...well they dont deserve it...and why they dont know the street names....ha ha ha....can u tell me where is anderson road in oak park or rather 32 anderson road...well dont look up the melway... u r a true melbournian and should know that....how many times you gave a taxi driver 5 minutes (needs to be given to a taxi driver to plan the route) before making up your mind that the cabbie doesnt know anything.

| Why do melbourne cabbies use manual swipe machines. Do you know the answer. OK let me try to clear few of the myths of the soceity. There is company called CABCHARGE... I am sure you all must know it like Vegemite. This company charges 10% + GST...comes to 11% surcharge if you make any card payment in taxis. I am sure 1/2 of you dont know this fact. Well next time pay by a card in the taxi and see the sucharge. Heard anywhere of 10% credit card processing fee. Well I would say WHAT A RIPPER. IF only our mom or dad could come up with such a brilliant idea we would have been rich and famous kids. ANY PROTEST or anything of that sort in direction yet. WELL might come after this post. NOW CABCHARGE doest share this 10% with anyone. So if a TAXI EFTPOS system is used, that is owned by cabcharge, think what...you got ripped off by CABCHARGE by 11%. Great...now there are small docket encashing companies who share this 10% with drivers and give then 2-5% depending upon the comapny. So drivers instead of using the TAXI EFTPOS System, they use the manual way and increase thier earning by 2-5%. Well given an opportunity to you to increase your pay by 2-5%, who will not do that. Well a cabbie does that and cops up all the things that were said on this blog. Anybody mentioned about CABCHARGE.....Well next time think it this way.... |

| Sexual harrassment in Taxis. Well there are cameras in Taxis. If proven a taxi driver can be jailed. Let us think a customer walks in and does what ever inside the taxi and walks away. In the mean time an incident happens. Coppers comes and all authorities comes. Who do you think has the better chances to be caught....the customer...or the taxi driver. A driver when sits in the cab leaves 100's of evidences of his being in the cab. How many evidences a customer paying by cash would leave in the cab. So sexual harrassment. Well under the circumstances...if i am a cabbie....i would be a fool to do that....and if someone has not found a decent cabbie yet....then all the cabbies are fools. If all the cabbies are not fools then the person advocating that sexual harrassment happens and that he or she has not come accross a decent cabbie has a slight possibility of being a fool. Mind my anglo saxon decency...slight possibility....cheers keep it up. |

I use taxi's frequently and I have yet to get a bad driver...On a trip to America, I gave the driver my credit card...in the excitement of the trip and getting my bags I neglected to get my card from the driver. The driver tried to find me in the airport and having no luck, he drove all the way back to my home and gave the card to my husband...what a lovely young Indian man he was.
I always tip my drivers, too. They get me safely to my destination...so they deserve a little recognition and respect. |
