Tasmanian TV Channels Reply to this message
I know this isn't news but it is related to Tassie in a huge way, I having lived in both Tassie and Melbourne am disgusted that the local network "Southern Cross" has decided NOT to give veiwers in this state the new series of the emmey award winning show "The Amazing Race"...I was watching channel 7 early one morning, like around 5.30 am and it said that the show was on that night, I looked in the guide and was shocked to see that there was no amazing race to be shown here...I feel that the network has given away a high calibre show and is failing to provide great shows anymore just because of the cross media laws in this country..so it begs the question should Tasmanians get real channel 7 from Melbourne like we already do with channel 10 (oh sorry Tasmanian govt) Tasmanian Digitial TV which is 10 anyway, anyway what to do Tasmanian's do we ask the govt here to give us options to get real channel 7 or just continue to put up with our lousy TV channel "Southern Cross" and do we also think about getting rid of the Tasmanian Digital TV name because it is channel 10 anyway?? so why the different name, question for our local pollies to answer I think...

thanks
Mitch

Whats Tas TV? I don't watch TV anymore I would rather read a trashy magazine. At least then I can feel like I am a part of what I am missing out on by not being on the mainland and I get to catch up on all the gossip and entertainment news to boot!

I'm in tassie and I've been watching the Amazing Race. What's the problem??

But yeah - the tv situation here is a joke - especially if you're not into every single sport known to humankind (and then some others as well).

Re:Tasmanian TV Channels Reply to this message
Digital tv is fine, Jo Cornish is now Jo Palmer (can't say that she is ugly btw, but there is an absolute spunk that does the B&B ad, if you need to know), plenty of food and water, still.

Re:Tasmanian TV Channels Reply to this message
LOL :) Glad you liked it.

Speaking of Tassie tv. Last night Southern Cross went off the air where I live just before Australian Idol and didnt come back till the bit where the judges were commenting on the final performance. All we got was a snowy screen for over an hour. No message, no explanation, no nothing.

Pretty shoddy.

Go digital coach, it will only cost you a power source and a set top. Then you can get ALL the crap that is on ten, but you better hurry before the dancing season begins.

Re:Tasmanian TV Channels Reply to this message
Did anyone see how Southern Cross stuffed up the screening of the academy award winning drama 'Monster' last Saturday night ? Two consecutive episodes of Heart Beat were suposed to shown followed by Monster at 10:15PM. But instead of starting Monster, they began showing a 3rd episode of Heart Beat for about 10 minutes and then went to an add break. When they came back after the break they began screening Monster from about 10 minutes into the film. P**SED OFF, doesn't even begin to describe how angry I was. I didn't particularly want to watch another episode of Heart Beat, but I did want to watch Monster.

Re:Tasmanian TV Channels Reply to this message
how many people have just completely turned off their tv's like I have this past spring and summer and sat at night and read a really good book. What is there to see on tv anyway. I can only get two stations where I live in southern tassie and the repeats get quite boring after awhile. What did we ever do before television came into our lives. I feel sorry for the younger generation not knowing what is beyond their tv set. Get outside and see the world as it really is.
