| Well I just returned from the mainland and the whole time i was there I kept thinking "thank god i live in Tasmania", now i want this discussion to be a place where people can positively talk about there lives in Tasmania and not winge about it as many people do. I'm a very proud Tasmanian, are there any others out there like me? |

I have been to and lived in a lot of places and I love no other place more than Tasmania.
Hobart City is the best city in Australia; Dover area is the best place to live in Australia. |

| I am a Tasmanian and I think Tasmania is a beautiful place to live. I live in the highlands of Tasmania. I don't mind that mainlanders think we have two heads....all the better to be able to see more of Tassie and appreciate the scenery, unexplored regions, the bush, the uniqueness of everything that is Tasmanian. I have travelled to that great North Island called Australia but always my home will be in Tasmania. |

| I was born in Tassie, but have lived on the mainland for half of my life. Tassie is still my home, it is beautiful and unique, I am truly worried that they are going to destroy our natural wilderness though. After all, the Pollies couldn`t give a rats about the best state in Australia. The only thing they care about is how much money they can make from it. Fight on Tassie! dont let them take our heritage. |

| No, we are keeping the apples, you get to eat the Kiwi apples with fire blight that the Bio-security and Warren Truss thinks is good for the economy of Australia. |

As a non Tasmanian I would have to say that Tassie is my no. 1 holiday destination.
The wilderness, peace and quiet.... ahhhh.... BLISS
The friendly people aren't too bad either although I have yet to meet one with 2 heads. |

| I am Tasmanian although now live in Victoria - Victoria is full of drug addicted materialistic sicko freaks who think of nothing but sex, with anyone, anywhere anytime - no matter if you're married or not. NO morals here - its a disgrace - give me Tassie ANY day! |

I've lived in tassie for about 3 years and it's a beautiful place - tho in danger of being ruined by commercial greed. It has some ... erm ... quirks LOL but I love it here.
For several years I lived in Perth where I encountered more violence than anywhere else I've lived. I also lived in Sydney (for about a year - polluted and over-crowded to the extreme) Mildura (also a year or so - boring and isolated) and Canberra (several years - boring but close to lots of good things).
Everywhere I've been has had good and bad points - it depends what you're looking for. For me clean air, a green environment and a relaxed, safe life-style are important so Tassie fits well.
Canberra's pretty good too :) |

| I was born in Tasmania and have always lived here .A pulp mill is proposed for the Tamar Valley which i believe is not popular with its community ,therefore i wish yahoo7 would have a poll to see how many tasmanians want a pulp mill.At the present rate of clearfelling our grandchildren will only know what plantations look like. |

Mantaman whilst it would be very intesting to really see just how many want to see this pulp mill go ahead, it would appear that we are going to get it whether we want it or not given how the government is fast tracking the entire process. Given the huge environmental impact this mill is likely to have I for one would have preferred the proper channels were followed.
But apart from that I have lived in this beautiful state most of my life (parents moved to Tassie when I was still a baby) and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. |

Pink Gallah, proper channels would have included a damning submission from the AMA to the RPDC of the impact a pulp mill will have on the health of those who reside in the Tamar Valley.I have a sick wife and a substantial drop in property values ,which is eminent if this mill is built, will see us stranded in the sacrificial zone of air pollution as we live within 1,5 km of the mill site.
We cant afford this mill and the paper mill which is yet to come. |

| Not tasmania but agree its a beautiful part of the world and if they didn't have a paradise called QLD I would consider it. Tasse has less political correctness, beautiful scenary and a lot of genuine people makes it a nice place to call home. |

bigmuddy_2007, don't believe all that you are told. Ironically, there are a lot of qld'ers travelling thru here at the moment, obviously checking out whether they can handle the cooler temps, but it is not even cold yet.
The warmer places are the Nth East, like St. Helens or the Nth West, like Wynyard.
Do you want a nice stone cottage? Think twice, stone is cold, day and night. Better to think federation built, double brick. |

| LOL Yep. I'm in the North-East and read big-muddy's comment yesterday. Had a big chuckle because we were all getting around in T-shirts yesterday. Plus up until 3 weeks or so ago we were still threatened by bushfires. |

I have lived in tasmania the most part of my life and have travelled to many parts of australia.I love tasmania and always appreciate coming home..I do wish we here in the northern part could get around in t-shirts,It has been fairly cold the last few weeks but nothing too dramatic.
I have to agree with the northwest weather,I lived down that way for nearly 2 years in burnie and the weather was no way near as cold as here in the l'ton area.We certainly don't have the cold weather for 8 months out of the year and once you have been through a summer here in tassie, you certainly appreciate the colder weather. |
