Im pleased you enjoyed your stay here dazedlady2003, Sorry about the other drivers it can be a little daunting some of our roads aren't the best, I sometimes think some of our speed limits are to fast for certain country roads even for those of us who know them it must be twice as hard for tourists.
I think the way the weather feels right now we may get to the 28c we were expecting tomorrow and wed, Oh well here's hoping lol |

hey just came across something that needs to be change down there in tassie, and that is how you can get a rental property.
couldn't believe it last week a realstate asked me to give them a credit report on me as i wanted to rent and i must give them 100 points as well, thought this was over the top but applied for a credit report on my wife and I and the realestate said she would email me a rental form to fill out so i got that day a credit report which cost me $60 at $30 each only to receive 4 days later the rental form from the realestate and blow a fuse to see they will only allow a 2 day old credit report!!!!!
what sort of realestates are down there, not only have i blown $60 for anything everytime i want to apply for a rental i have to spend $60 to get a credit report because as she said why no longer then 2 days because you could go bankrupt after 2 days!!!!
sorry but this is a joke i will not be dealing with this realstate any more and if the rest is like this then i will buy privately.
not going to make money out of me when i want to buy. |

Rentals...Well I know it can be difficult when you come from interstate & going through a real estate agent. I suggest you go privatley even if you just get a short term rental at first. Try this site www.noagentproperty.com.a u
They have many listings for places all over Tasmania & is nation wide too. So go to the home page & click on Tasmania. I got my first rental through there & my lanlord was one of the best ive ever had! Its all a free service & you just leave your email & number & they contact you (If you place an ad in the wanted list) or you can get their contact details on there. Trust me its great. Then once your here its a lot easier you can put an add up in the shop community notice boards, & I often see many landlords ads up in the boards too. Also the newspapers have many private listings in them, which are good too. So when your down here have a look in the newspapers & community boards.
Also most towns have their own community paper for free which has classifieds in it. |

| Casino, if you are looking for rolling green hills, try Scottsdale, just absolutely beautiful! Or, down south, try the area around Snug, we loved it there too. Oh hell, we loved nearly all of what we saw. I wasn't so fussed on Launceston, it's pretty and the people are friendly, but Hobart has my heart! |

Hobart is beautiful, Launceston and Hobart are like night and day architecturally, Hobart has the beautiful Derwent river and south of the city is beautiful.
Launceston has the horrible Tamar river i live here and i hate it lol. Further down the river near the Batman bridge is cleaner but the Tamar valley is lovely and the little towns. The Cataract Gorge is magnificent and just five mins from the city. But I love everything about tassy. |

Hey Matmos, I saw you driving through Riana one day, you had come up from Gunns Plains. How do I know it was you? I said to myself, I bet that was Matmos as it was the same time as when you were wondering around this way looking at all the places.
Hardly ever snows on the ground and holds in Waratah, but it does snow, we called it baby snows. Lots of wind, relentless unless you get a place against the forest or down in a bit of a gully. Rains after March and drizzles for much of the winter but it has good access to the high country around Cradle and Black Bluff and the Native Track. Good for cross country skiing.
I advise Tullah, or somewhere close to it, it does snow there but there is plenty of water and not far from the coast and plenty of crays.
There is a secret place not far from there but I will not reveal it. It is going to be the hideout when the masses discover that Tas is the next best thing to peace and sanity. |

| I know its been terribly hot, I hate the heat & coming from SA I still never could cope with it. But its differnt & more bareable here as it doesnt continue for days/weeks/months on end, & the nights are cooler. Most places here dont have a/c I have noticed & lots of houses arent made to suit heat...All the vile global warming is taking its toll already. Its the same in Europe they dont have a/c but get blasts of summer heat in recent years. The sun here isnt as intense as it is in SA inspite of what I get told about the ozone layer hole being directly above Tas. |
