i know $300 a week in qld but didn't think you pay that much in country areas of tassie, but i do know sheffield is a tourist spot but we have looked at a lot of northern tassie rentals and all are bloody high for what they are.
$300 per week for bug hutches is not my idea of reasonable rent. which what we have seen over parts of tassie |

Hi casino, Sorry to hear you are having rental problems down here, Im not renting so i dont know how to help you in that area, Im just wondering if you went to the more populated towns cities perhaps Devonport, Launceston or Hobart would it be cheaper to rent there ? I mean until you decided where you want to buy, That is if you decide to stay here.
Maybe matmos can help out again when he comes on here again. Sorry you are having problems... |

went to have a look at a unit over a shop here in sheffield for rent 2 bedroom electricity included at $350 per week. it was a dive just blow me away at $350 will be going south tomorrow to have a look and then back up to devonport launceston to see what we can rent there.
there is no rent in sheffield we are in a retreat at $170 a night is getting to expensive |

Sounds like a good idea casino, I mean going to a place more populated wow that is steep $350 and if its a dive that's even worse, And as for your accommodation now $170 a night forget it.
I think they have a cheek trying to rip you off the way they are, I would have thought they would have given you a discount to start with if you were looking to settle in that area and been a little more hospitable.
Good luck with your further efforts to find a place to rent im sure it will be cheaper in one of the cities. |

Hey Casino, Sorry to hear your havin rental probs! Don't let it discourage you though, there are cheaper places around. Try Deloraine theres some on realestate.com there.
Also on www.noagentproperty.com.a u there are some that will probobly negotiate with you, as i just looked at it & some are around $300pw but as they are private you can haggle...If you want to stay up north look in 'The Advocate' & 'The Examiner' papers (also online) which have some private rental listings...If your coming down south look in 'The Mercury' paper classifieds Saturday has heaps of private listings......I just looked in last Sunday's Mercury there where a few around $200.....I dont know what your after exactly a long term or just a short term if your intending to buy, so I hope Ive been of some help....Im more than happy to help you out if you need more info....Goodluck! |

Tasmania= Bliss! Didnt take me long to ajust to a new home & enviroment! Inspite of a Very hectic anxiety ridden trip to get here!! It was the best thing Ive done with my life to date & it was well worth all the hitches in order just to get on the the boat! I just love the pace & the people, the enviroment its just amazing!! All positives from me!
Southern you can bag me & insult me & Tasmania but I have a beautiful place to call home now! So I just really don't care what you think! Im in a better place now! & the people here are wonderful! So geuine, helpful & respectful!

I found the Cradle Mountain walk desolate & forbidding.
By comparison, the Hinchinbrook Island walk was full of colour & life; birds, butterflies, lizards, insects, flowers, huge variety of vegetation...
Higher latitudes = lower species diversity = boring. |
