Dozens of taxi drivers are continuing to rally outside the Adelaide Airport in a show of support for a driver who was bashed and robbed overnight.
Balraj Singh was punched in the face and had his cab stolen by two passengers in Adelaide's southern suburbs.
The violent robbery has angered drivers who are calling for better protection, including security screens.

| cabbies got offered the screens like a yr ago they declined due to they didnt want anything between them and there customers... y should the tax payer pay up not cos a coouple of Arab aussie got bashed... what did they do... some of those same cabbies r the ones who sexually assult women (arab or not)... some of them take long way around to get bigger fares.... these arnt reasons to bash them but they do somethings to provoke these things happening... noone herd the full storie cos the ppl who do it wont come say what happend from there side... so we r judging on a one sided argument... 2 sides to every storie |

So when are we going to get rid of the foreign scum out of this country that get jobs in the taxi industry and then assault and rape innocent women...we've had 30 assaults here in sa...and theyre mainly from the middle east and africa...and now theyre doing it in sydney...

When I started driving Taxies in Adelaide,A written and practical driving tese had to be performed!
Back in'74. I drov4 the only manual car in the fleet!
Drivers ,these days are spoilt! AirConditioning,Commercia l radios,Panic buttons &etc are the things WE DID NOT have
in my earlier days!...There is, however, the bad element in all aspects of wherever you work!...These drivers should NOT ge their Permits until they can learn the basics of finding their way around Our fair city!! |

Yes, I got agree here with most that we need good english speaking drivers. They take that little extra way around to where you want to go, rip you off each time. There is also the assaults and rape of women. They come out to get a better life than they have in their country, but bring all their hatred with them & start the problems here.
As for Government/Tax payers paying for safety screens or any other security device is BULL SHIT. Like any other business they need to provide safety devices themselves. |
