| no the govement has not stopped the allowance but i dont think all people that have carers allowance should get it. It should be screened very carefully. peolpe who have a bad disability, in a wheelchair, or who can not look after themselves should get it but ones who are getting it for silly things such as speach problems, asthma, and slight learning difficulties should not get it. i now someone how gets it for there son who can not speak to well gets it. they do not spend the money on him they spend it on themselves for smokes,drugs and to get themselves out of debt. the money should be spent on the child to help it to speak properly. anyway if she didnt smoke when pregnant the child probably be ok. it also helps if you talk properly to your child and not swear at it and tell it to shut up every time it tries to talk to you. it would make a big difference. people who need it should get it but definitely not the ones who do not. |

| Just for your information that money is for children to get speech therapy I get the carers allowance for my son who has difficulties talking, fine motor skills and learning diffculties and I pay $200.00 a week in therapy I am so sorry your kids are perfect it is people like you who make this world a sad one people like you dont deserve to live |

I AGREE with you craigtoohey well all except your last four words ,,
as i said my son is down syndrome and has needs and treatments that goes with it ,,
i really dont like people that sit in judgement , that have no clue what we go through , what expenses we have , ,,
in a nutshell ... they shyt me |

| Marilyn not everyone who get the carers pension waste it. I have 2 son who have a disability and never claimed a carers pension for either one as yet. The first was placed on a disability pension by a government department and now looks after himself with some help from his friends. The 2nd son I took to an eye specialist when a baby to find out while he had one pupil larger than the other and was told that all babies with blue eyes have 1 larger pupil than the other. Then he had a car accident and now forgets lots of everyday things as in the day, simple spelling words etc. he asks constant questions about the same thing. Do you think that it is a crime for me to get help for him? He has been diagnosed with a learning disability,this seems to cover what the experts cannot explain. He had scans which show that he has had only one ceribellum since birth. The explanation is they don't know what caused this and NO I don't smoke, drink or do drugs AND No I don't yell,swear and tell my child to shut up. So if you have any ideas as to why this happened love to hear... |

I think the carers paymenet bonus will be paid this year due to the unprecedented backlash by the community when the Rudd government where going to axe it, they where shamed into a backdown, but I don't think it will be payed next year, I think after they pay it this year it will be s Axed! That's IMO
Geez what is so offensive about the word S C R A P P E D??? |

Yeah right Marilyn if you cant see a diasability there is obviously not one hey !!!!!! Shall the payment be given to a select few disabilities?? How should it be determined what disabilities really count! Maybe we put all the different sorts of disabilities on little pieces of paper, put them into a very Big hat, stir them up & pick one out at random!!!!!!! |

| I reckon it's $600 for Carers Allowance, and $1,000 for Carers Payment. Of course this is just a drop in the ocean when it comes to Speech Therapy, over $100 an hour, its extremely effective and helpful but who can afford that? It should be a bulk billed medical specialist service. |
