Corruption in the government of South Australia
Sometime ago a manager of mine convinced the government to give her some money for a software project, the first thing she did with that money was to go on a four months holidays in Canberra with her team in the name of training. The project was never delivered, the team was promoted.
A manager of mine wanted to go on an oversea trip, he created endless paper work and created endless overtime to do the paper work, his oversea trip was paid for, very little else was done. The unit was fined by EDS for not completing a task on time.
These things happens everyday because their managers don’t care. Their managers don’t care because no one will hold them accountable. Corruptions and wastages happens everyday in the government of South Australia because it is a old boys network, where old boys (and females) keep one another employed and promoted while keep on they keep on ripping off the tax payer money. If anyone speaks out, they are being negative. |

The title is interesting but the story not clear.
I have many examples of government corruption.
Let me point just one - police corruption along with State government administration.
The Premier, relevant ministers, departments do not care at all about road safety and lie that they care. Without going into fine details, the police is undertrained and have serious problems with officers knowing and understanding road rules. Those officers not only do not protect more vulnerable road users as cyclists but also promote unsafe practices and also themselves abuse cyclists. When it happened to me, I complained to PCA, they wound it up and answered that this is what police suppose to do. Do you on forum agree that the normal role of police is to abuse cyclists?
Please acknowledge that Premier, nor anybody wants to know about it. There is no way you can make them accountable for that.
Other cases is when all above refuse to improve safety, and when the driver hits and injure cyclist, the government turns away and not only cyclist is not compensated for damages (clothes and bicycle, plus injury), but the dangerous driver is also not required to improve driving skills. Police blames state for not allowing them to investigate why dangerous driver actually have caused the crash, no investigation is allowed. Mentally compromised and undertrained get license freely. Nobody takes responsibility. it's anarchy.
Suggestions welcome.
Shall I bring other cases of corruption here?
They include energy waste, health compromise, lots on road safety, abusive public servants, councils not doing their jobs etc. |

| If you run a company and you give 500 thousands dollar to one of your employees to build a shop, that employee use 100 thousands of that travel around the world in the name of training and overtime. Would you not fired that employee? |

Can the Ombudsman do anything about investigating these reports?
Wake up to reality. The Ombudsman is not paid by you and me, but by the government. Everytime you complain against government wrong, the Ombudsman can use as stupid reasons as one is pleased to answer you, but one will always say that that government have done nothing wrong.
Ombudsman never (Stupid Yahoo ignores my requests to correct this bug) "a""n""a""l" yzes the issue in absolute terms for so called common sense, but if it is according to government intentions. It always is. Extremely rare when Ombudsman finds that officer have done very grossly wrong against government intention/rules.
It is up to us to demand government acting with common sense. And there is a good reason why democrats had slogan, keep them accountable. Government is not accountable and Ombudsman is not on society's side but government's. |

There has been corruption in the south australian gov for
quite along time.It is evey where many in the family courts
of Australia for childrens rights to be with there fathere.
They abuse children rights and get away with it,i have got no
time for gov full stop it is in all of the gov places.
All children should be back with there father care why should
mothers get all of the care they,call them self mums yet
the one i know admited it to the courts that she abuse of
the children and get some of the kids back.the gov is corrupt
and the ombudsman is one lieing person i have had dealings
with him he is a man that does nothink the right way.
he is a ombudsman for money that all. |

Yes they are corrupt. workcover and car accident victims are the one's who suffer at the hands of the corrupt Governments and health departments.
Who asked them to report radiology films incorrectly so that the persons injury never gets treated. This saves on medical treatment cost, operations,hospital costs and also payout to the injured people or the family's of the people who have died. this cost saving system will cause the death of Australian people. But they will cover it up. |

Bi the way the doctor that make up a lot of dirty paper work
for mums to get full care of the children should be sacked.
And made to answer for there abuse towards the childrens,
rights.There is many cases that so call doctors write down
that some fathers have Bi polo disorder and yet they have
no disoreder it is a way that the cheating lawers can put it
in court so the mums get care of the children how low r they
the children suffer and so do there dads. they r dirty people

How about this incident.
I was invited for an interview by senior Uni staff. There he become very irrational and started to abuse me verbally and expelling me from the office and from the Uni grounds.
I have immediately reported this incident to the chief of security who promissed to investigate.
The tape of an interview with security have got lost.
All the Uni VIP have refused any mediation.
Police refused any investigation because it is beyond their jurisdiction as Uni are under direct care of state parliament.
The minister and Rann refuse to investigate and make it right.
Some of you childishly believe that the role of Ombudsman is to seek justice or to help citizens. Their actual role is to see if government does what government says one will do and surely not yours but government's interpretation is correct every time.
In the story above. It is open corruption and it seems that the government including opposition are happy to maintain.
Please judge me what I want. I wanted that there will be normal mediation, I will get apology from the offender and Uni will make sure that he is mentally fit for the office.
Now, I have proof that South AUstralian government is fully corrupted.
If you wish I will give many more examples of corruption here.
For now, go at lunch time on the street and count the street lamps fully on. They are on 24/7. What a waste of energy and money. There is no way to make them to operate as they should. There are commercial lamps on 24/7 as well. Who needs it? Mr Rann. |

| Let me guess, Families SA maybe one of them? I've just come across some other corruption there! A Gord*** in Concessions section has to look after a disabled child and took time off to look after it. Lindy who is the supervisor there is over-bearing and nasty. She complained that Gord*** took too much time off blah blah blah. After much time, her treatment just got worse and worse and she clearly stated to the staff there that she is depressed. She wrote a letter to Sue Vardon to mention what happened and Lindy took revenge on her. They sent her to be assessed and the Doc said she should take time off to help her calm down. They took this information and gave her two choices: Either 12 months WITHOUT PAY or evict her from the Govt position. So recently she had to pack up her stuff and leave taking the 12 months without pay. Sure she needs the time off and needs to look after the disabled child, but Families SA didn't offer her Part-time or anything, just dumped her - do you think that is a caring department? I hope she does not go to the Ombudsmen if they don't care either! As far as I've heard, Gord*** is not malicous and is the type that is in a corner staying quiet doing her work - I think now she has to get some sort of support from elsewhere because Sue Vardon and her Families SA haven't looked after her! |

In a related story to the "Today Tonight" program in Adelaide, where one person in the Education department went for a reclass and some trouble happened where the management started to bully him and so on... I think Channel 7 need to open their eyes to show similar cases in Families SA. There are plenty of people who are tossed around because of trying to reclass. There are people like one that recently came in which is officially an ASO7, but that person was offered ASO8 just to come into their EDS area for work that an ASO6 can do. Then they have many staff who work on higher level duties for years on end, but they aren't on the right level officially. When they make a honest claim, they are quickly shifted in other positions to waiver or dum down the reclass attempt and stick them in lover level duty positions. Some do about 2 years of higher duty and one would expect to be officially leveled at the higher level if possible but their managers know this rule too well and quickly take them away from those jobs to something lower, just to subside the requirement to assess them for a higher position. There are many in that department who are well skilled above their new jobs and can't move on unless they apply for other jobs.
Another had responsibility for some centre replacement project and was acting in an ASO6 level. After the 2 years, this person jumped from an A/ASO4 to a permanent ASO6 - it was given to him. I think shortly after, that guy left the project 2 months later. Then some lady took over the replacement project and did her 2 years and had to apply for the position - she didn't get it.
Like the "Today tonight" story, I'm sure there is bullying for anyone there trying to make an honest ask for recognition of their past careers and get no where and try to do it through Industrial Relations, and in the end, the only solution is to get another job. |

We are showing some real life examples of corruption. Do we feel better now?
Is it the end of the matter?
Perhaps we want to do something what will stop it?
We cannot do it alone. Society will support us only when we convince society that it is against society's best interest to allow corruption.
How to do it?
Keep writing about it, showing the consequences and encouraging wide public to join. We may chose to talk about it in talk back radio, in letters to the editor of newspapers and give link here. |

| I like you response. I have been a victim of corruption since 1999. I have lost everything because of it; family, homes, furniture, cars, finances and health. In S.A alone I was beaten into a disabled state. The Tanunda Police did nothing, nor did the Police complaints division. The corrupt Crown solicitors office offered me $790.00 to shut my mouth. I have been blocked from any police protection, and legal representation, and justice. I am blocked from media outlets. I'm not sure about this blog site - It will be interesting to see. The corruption that I have endured, and alone, due to the fact they keep one very isolated and running like a fugitive covers not just S.A. but Vict Qld and now NSW. The latter is when I screamed enough - and launched legal action in the supreme court. They have arrested twice already. One should see the documents! Corruption - Ha. Hang in there good people and stay true to your own beliefs no matter they try to tell you. A strong and committed support group is required. These blogs are great but they don't exactly take the message to Canberra. |

This thread just seems to be a place for every second crackpot to rant on and on about their useless conspiracy theories. Guess what, there is no corruption in the south Australian cabinet/upper level state government. Anything that you idiots are ranting about is most likely due to some low level government employee equally as stupid as you messing up some procedure or just ignoring you because you are a raving lunatic. Just because your car rego went up 5% this year, it doesn't mean there is some great conspiracy that goes all the way up to the premier of SA.
The worst thing you could say about SA labor's decisions is probably they waste to much money on short term projects. |

The PCA "Police Complaints Authority" is a bad move, they are a non goverment body, a group of lawyers actually that call themselves the "Police Complaints Authority". They simply take your complaint, pretend to show it to the police raising it as a complaint, give them details of witnesses etc. when in fact what they are doing is supplying the officers with a detailed statement from yourself allowing them to build a defense based on your own words before any official body is involved. Change there statement etc.
The correct procedure is to make your complaint through the sergant warden "a police officer". There is a sergant warden appointed to each major police station. He must take your complaint and investigate it as a police officer, he usually passes the buck real fast to a form of Internal affiars, But they are bunch of crooked mobsters also looking after there own. The real difference is everthing is official and there actions can be scrutenized. So they act carefully. Be ready for a full on investigation, sometimes they take years but it allways requires a official result.
A hint of advice, make an appointment with your MP first and give them a written copy of your complaint first and ask that they set an appointment with your Sergant warden, any sergant can pretend they are the sergant warden, and then the sergant warden can honestly say he never took your complaint. I hope you have a honest labour MP elected to your area. If not, or if they refuse to see you do in writing. An MP can be asked to act as a middle person when a public servant acts illegally. If they try and stear you in another direction, go to the MP that was not elected for your area and you will probally get a more favourable result. FOR CLARIFICATION THE CPA IS THE INCORRECT PROCEDURE, THE SERGANT WARDEN IS THE PERSON WHO IS DESIGNATED TO RECIEVE THESE COMPLAINTS. Visit your CPA and all your doing is helping them by allowing them to see your complaint before an official body checks |

Useless corruption theories? Any one remember the acting S.A police comissioner caught as a herion dealer? Detective Colin Creed? opperation hygine? The fact up until a few ( appox 5 years ago) S.A had a 7 years statute of limitations on child abuse whilst federally
all these limitaions where removed, maybe S.A needed to catch up because a judge was caught despite many made claims for 10 years, but no police officer acted until the media became involved. Are you aware if you are assaulted by a police officer all he has to do is charge you with assault, if you are found guilty he is automatically found not guilty? and his charge & charges are heard by the magistrates court, the police court! The magistrates court is openly known to never challenge a police officers statement regarless of evidence. A police officer statment can allways be changed unless presented as signed affidavit. If unsigned it is worthless even when taken by a legal body. |

I wonder why the Goverment has purchasing officers for each department, lets say a purchasing officer needs to purchase 15000 square meters of carpet, i'll call bob my mate and ask him to lodge a bid for job at 20 bucks per meter, if he slips me 2 bucks per meter. There is the tender system, but they are not forced to pick the lowest bid, and any one in the goverment knows, they get wined and dined before tenders are reviewed. Winning themselves a new pool or car before accepting the tender. How could he could it be a pay off if he gets it through a third party before bids have been decided on?
If your the poor sap who did a honest bid, you just havnt learnt the ropes. |

10 ways to survive on the super dole "Public service position"
1. claim that your working on files at home (relevant to any department) 2.5 hrs per week, roughly 30 dollars per week x 52 weeks. You have just raised your income me by 1560 dollars per years, if your lucky and your wife works for the super dole, she can also do the same. A easy 3 grand per year for nothing.
2. make your personal calls, bills etc from work. get paid and dont pay for the calls.
3. Call in sick for the 10 sicks days you are allocated each year. Dot forget to call in sick the day before a long weekend and the day after, this way you only use 2 and 5 to 6 days off in one hit.
4.If you drive a goverment vehicle, arrange for you partner to follow you to the fuel station, tank her car as it stands on the other side of the pump as you tank your own.
5. Arrange with a few of you work buddies to all call in sick in the same period when there is a time line crunch, this creates overtime, get paid for your sicky and get a bonus at the end of the fortnight as your overtime makes up for the work you were unable to do but did on overtime.
6. Arrange your official work meetings at the pub 2 hours before you clock of on a friday.
7. Use the photo copier for friends.
8. supply your family, children and friends with free stationary, cleaning products, coffee, hospital products etc.
9. Have a work injury and get promoted to a job which will satisfy your new limitations, as they can not demote you or leave you in same job that can further your injury.
10. Join the union. |

| Police stick together no matter what so what point is it having a police complaints commission run by police.....SA police are the lowest of low to begin with so the minute you repoet a case to such a board youve dug your own grave.....sorry its a no win situation.....if youve been interstate youd see the dfference of police attitudes im not saying theres any good cops but the ones in SA are just hell bent on revenue raising & making you miserable& putting youin a position to stuff up.....the fines for speeding etc in SA are way too high & they will never just let you off with a warning or such....Mike Rann has a lot to answer for......Im so thankful im not in SA anymore, life is so much better interstate, without all this rubbish..my suggestion leave SA its a police ridden hole!!!!! |

Where's he been for the last 8 years why the Murray was drying up and all the rain water ran out to sea.
Now Media Mike gets on the air saying SA leads the way by re cycling 25% of our water like he had something to do with that!!! what a load of crude
When Mike was still in College The Salisbury Council started their wet lands and re cycling of of water, now it services all of Mawson Lakes and the Salisbury Council sells water to Industry in their Council area.
What a pity all this land the Goernment is selling off in it's fire sale Hillcrest Mental Hospital land, Glenside, huge housing trust suburbs, and soon the North Terrace precint (to move the new Majorie Jackson Hospital to toxic land that's not worth a lot of money campared to North Terrace Precint did not insist that these multi million dollar developers were not made to put in wet land to service the thousand of houses that are to be built on these sites. |
