| age.johns, if you spoke to the right people you would have more luck, as other builders knows who is busy and who isn't. |

| Hi aussiearisen, you may be a designer but your not actually a builder of homes and while you may know about some of the work in the area, you don't know about all of the work happening as there are other designers. Builders who work for the BSA are quite busy, due to alot of building firms going bust. |

Yes we are for real aussie and this is the problem with people today, they think because what is happening to them, is happening to everyone else and they are caught up in their own little world and area and think they know all. |

too much tax? I love that metality - the reason you are paying tax is because you are earning
theres no such thing |

| Exactly sneezy doc, I was waiting for someone like yourself to mention this because it wasn't getting through to the ones who are so negative. This is why we can take a big long holiday and still come out smiling. |

move_forward_in_life : The OP is asking about employment opportunities in Queensland, he`s considering traveling from the other side of the world. He wants the truth and sensical answers, he didn`t create this thread as an opportunity for you to beat your own drum.
If you`ve profited enough for a long holiday in the short time frame since the downturn, you must really be cashing in on the misery of others. |

Speak for youeself aussie, as you may stoop this low but we don't, hence this is why the BSA uses us and its because of our good reputation. |

So you`ve made enough since the downturn for a long holiday? - The BSA are nothing but parasites, but that`s another story.
More to the point re the topic though - do you know the difference between a Registered Builder and a Carpenter ?
Australia presently has an over supply of carpenters, but work can be found. BSA insurance work is so minuscule in the overall scheme of things as to be too ludicrous to mention.
The original poster is a carpenter from Britain so your comments have less than zero relevance - The OP needs relevant info, he doesn`t need to hear you blowing your own trumpet - self praise, etc. |

We all know Australia has weathered the financial crisis alot better than other countries and sure we might go through abit of a low, but when you are a builder and NOT A DESIGNER, we tend to move our tradesman around to which ever builder that we know requires them. We have found it hard getting good carpenters.
So what if age.johns is from britian as he is probably better off here than where he is. And no I am not here to blow my own trumpet, but to let you know you are not always right in what you say. The scope of work in the Morayfield area is also quite busy, this is why I told age.johns to look at the Caboolture area as well. |

| MFL : You have a very narrow view of the world. You`d need quite a large sum of arrogance and self satisfaction to be able to state what other people you know nothing about can and can`t do. Not to mention a sizable dose of stupidity. |

| We were very short of carpenters age.johns, but like aussie said there has been a bit of a slow up in the industry and house prices are dropping, but Australia is not going to be in the down turn for long and things will get back to usual. So the builders that have gone bust, their trades people have been swallowed up by the builders who are still going strong. What part of Britain are you from?. |

It`s a bit more than a bit of a slow up. I don`t want to talk the State down, but I do work for Builders between Brisbane and Cairns, it isn`t pretty.
I don`t think we`ve quite bottomed out yet, the traditional hot spots are now dead spots. |
