3 week ago... petrol 1.11 p/l here, $1.04 p/l Geelong Vic. And that is with the qld 8c p/l subsidy... will be interesting if Bligh goes ahead with removal of that subsidy.
This is not a whinge, simply a comment. ;) |

| If you think Queensland is not expensive at the moment, wait a while, Anna is going to get that deficit paid off and fast. Wait until she sells the few public assets we have, prices will skyrocket. |

| The Whitsundays is fantastic - but avoid Jubliee Pocket if you don't want constant parties and doof-doof music disrupting you every weekend |

dunno if its still the case but i cant see why it would have changed - as a rule of thumb when i was in the Uk i paid for in pounds what i would expect to pay for in dollars here in Oz
not everything but most day to day items - that was 11 yrs ago though |

Yeah, I noticed it was always pound for dollar. It also is a challenge finding a sandwich that does not have mayonnaise on it in the UK, to find a garden salad (tinned corn and carrot is not salad), or find fresh fruit juice.
On the other hand, you can still get sleazy tabloids like the sport. |

| Places like Murgon are perfect for anyone with strong P.C. dogooder leanings to put their theory into practice. Preferable to be able to both fight AND run BEFORE moving in tho. |

| Things are just starting to get interesting, now prices will go up across the board, tourism will be affected, and Southerners will possibly find Queensland a less attractive alternative to migrate to and keep their money in their own states, whilst those already migrated (like my family)may just pack up and head back South. Dim dark days lie ahead for queensland me thinks. |

be a hell of a lot brighter for your departure
and dont kid yourself - prices are rising everywhere not just in Qld. As the Baby Boomers retire they want to sun their fat hides and will do so by moving their sizeable assets to Qld and will drive at least another 25 years of unprecedented growth |

absolutely - great cafes, pubs, night clubs
depends whether you want quiet family or some lifestyle
the beach is very family friendly - safe and sheltered from prevailing weather |

Probably depends weather you`re leaving a job, or what conditions are like where you are. Aus is feeling the global downturn, but if you can afford to look around you will get work in Queensland. |
