AA: aaah silly of me to assume the state of QLD revolves around Brisbane (self slap to head)
Back to topic: Capalaba = crapalaba.
Haha a person i know recently sold his adult shop in Capalaba (redlands shire) the reason: too many scumbags coming in to look at stuff without buying it. |

I had need to go there this afternoon. Worst traffic I've ever seen this side of Melbourne |

errr average I'd say.
I got the name from an old episode of the simpsons. Marg got b00b implants and Homer suggested these names for her 'hooty mcb00b' 'chesty la rue' and 'busty stclaire'.
Thats all just a silly handle :)
We got caught in peak hour down there also this arvo, shocking, did you notice EVERYONE in capalaba happen to drive big ass v8's?? |

Back to best place to live in QLD:
I'd love to live in Buderim, Maleny or any sunny coast hinterland.
Yeh! as if my office is going to have a branch there in this lifetime.
But maybe one day....... sigh. |

Certainly no shortage of the mentally impaired ones. Maybe its not obligatory to be brain dead to live in the area just yet but they are sure working on it. V8's are for dinosaurs, wonder what they will do in a few years when we all have nice quiet battery electric cars, I can well imagine the rev-heads converting their doof-doof machinery to play V8 noise !!!! |

I checked both out a ew months ago for a possible tree change but wasn't impressed. Buderim is just another total rat-race & Maleny is well on the way. One can't even get a park in the main drag at any time of the day because of all the stupid tourist latte set. Still considering Flaxton but leaning more toward central highlands of Tasmania these days, at least its virtually impossible for the developer rape & pillage fraternity to stuff-up a place which is predominantly national park & world heritage forest. |

It's sad that most of our beautiful hinterland may end up like that. :(
I'm sick of Brisbane, hey, at least I'm not Logan, Murgon etc.
I've an outlook of making a change a little furthur up north in the near future.
What side of bris are you on IBB? |

I may be a little biased, but checkout 'the redlands' I have lived on most sides of Brisbane. Mostly innercity. We love the redlands now we made the big move 'out'. :)
45 min drive to CBD, access to Gateway and South East freeways. Some houses still ok prices, prestige mansions to humble first home buyer style.
We have access to awesome fishing, boating, Stradbroke and all the other islands.
Oh, and we don't have the strict water restrictions as Brisbane City!
Have all the ammenities you may need. And there is a good mix of private and public schools.
Google redlands or get some info from the redlands visitor centre, prob in google too. |

Kelly: there is lots of major roadworks and home estates being built in the Redlands at the moment too.
Being close to the gateway or South east freeway your man can get either gold or sunny coast to work as well. |

So called 'developers' are the lowest form of life on the planet. Rape & pillage in the relentless search for the almighty dollar and to hell with the consequences.
I'm sick of Brisbane, hey, at least I'm not Logan, Murgon etc.
Logan is the last place I'd live, better to gobble a few packets of sleeping pills than live there. Gold Coast 'crime central' is second on my list.
I've an outlook of making a change a little furthur up north in the near future.
Been there done that, the heat boils people brains because they get more rednecked the further north one goes
What side of bris are you on IBB?
Currently southside but looking seriously at central highlands of Tasmania. No developers, stuff-all traffic & no stinking heat ae the main attractions |

where should we start looking?
The best time to come to Queensland was before Expo88. That stupid thing put the state on the map & it was all downhill from there. Population has doubled, traffic congestion is the worst on the planet, infrastructure is past its use by date, don't even think about trying to get attended to in a hospital, water supply is precarious at best & our moronic politicians want to double population again. The reason most mexicans give for migrating here is the weather, and thats fine eight months but unimaginably dreadful in summer. |

Except when the gateway or south east freeway are blocked. Historically that happens an average of twice a day for the gateway & traffic banks up for at least ten kilometers. South east freeway is a worry while that Hale streey disaster is under construction, and the ICB will be a parking lot after the Clem7 dumps a few thousand cars an hour onto it. |

As much as Gold Coast has been bagged there are some great spots to live down here that are well away from Surfers and the accompanying crap.
Given the description of what they want (workwise etc) there's a lot of development down here still so plenty of work of the kind required. |

| Woodridge was a bad joke for years so the typical political band-aid response was to change the name to Logan City, which was supposed to improve the dump overnight. Anyone who believes Australia is classless has obviously never been to Logan City |

| The Gold Coast is the second last place I'd live. Druggies everywhere, more syringes on the beach than sand, drive-by shootings, regular road rage (some of which involve armed response), traffic congestion worse than Brisbane, population only slightly less feral than Logan, in short, the pits |
