Mackay is a beaut spot.

Agejohns, I don`t hate anyone or take the boards too seriously. Haven`t really taken much notice of MFIL, and only thought it a bit scattered untill it did the neurotic acrobatics on this thread, funny though.

Has to be Airlie Beach, laid back holiday feeling all year round, great sailing around the Islands.

Re: the qualifications - the best thing to do if you believe you already can map your skills and prior experience across, is go for RCC and RPL. (recognition of current competencies and Recognition of prior learning).

A lot of your quals will not map directly across to our units of competency because there are specific performance criteria and elements of assessment that need to be addressed. You could probably (if you get a decent Registered Training Organisation that will take the time to map it) get most of your prior learning credited across, then just have an assessor interview you to fill in any gaps.

In Queensland, you might want to try CSQ, Construction Skills Queensland - or CSTC, the Construction Skills Training Centre. There's one in Cairns and they should be able to help you out with RPL and RCC.

age.johns, the only time your carpentry indentures will be needed is if you want to get a sub contractor`s licence, and that will ultimately be done through the Building Services Authority "B.S.A."

If you apply for a job as a wages carpenter, the employer will only want to know that you can do the job, carpentry indentures don`t mean much here.

So you`ve made enough since the downturn for a long holiday? - The BSA are nothing but parasites, but that`s another story.

You run the Building Services Authority Down ^^^^ and now your telling him to go there, look who's a scatter brain now you jerk.

the truth that u have developed

Ah poor Doc I obviously upset you this morning. Not sure why my intentions were honourable. The vast majority of people around here classify you as a loser and dole bludger. All I was trying to do was point out that you were gainfully employed as my bum wiper.

There is nothing for you to be ashamed of, a lot of successful people had to start at the bottom !

But I have to admit you really haven't been paying as much attention to your duties recently as you should. But despite that I'm happy to keep you in my employment providing you trim your nails and start using better quality paper.
