"When dealing with them it's quite stupid be abusive">>
Contrary to popular belief on these boards I am actually quite a soft touch. :) It makes it oh so much easier for me when someone is abusive towards me cause I feel absolutely no guilt whatsoever when I charge/give penalty notice to said person who is mouthing off at me. ;) |

"Its like anyone really not just police, if your abusive to anyone, its likely they are not going to respond the way you think."
Yep. Something that quite a few people need to learn. |

I find that the most satisfactory way to deal with people who are abusive towards me is to be ultra nice to them. It either reeaaaaallllly p1sses them off or they then feel guilty and do a complete turnaround and apologise and are nice themselves. :) |

"be ultra nice to them."
Hahaha true
A mate of mine years ago was being tail gated by some young punk, and he got rather annoyed, so my friend followed him back to his house. My friend pulled up to the nature and didnt even say a word, the guy just started bawling his eyes out and shouting im sorry im sorry. LOL
My friend laughed at him and left.
Funny story i reckon.
Didnt even say a word. |

One time our neighbors were building their house next door, i was outside with my other neighbor (he'd come round for guitar lessons)
We were outside and heard noises in the building so we called the police,
Not expecting alot, we stood out the front and waited for the police to arrive(we saw the guy nick out the back and over the fence)
The first car turned up and out jumps the two most gorgeous police women, stunning. My mate said, "hmmm they can arrest me if they like, i dont mind LOL"
They went in and had a look around next minute!
A paddy wagon with 4 guys in it and an unmarked with another 4 blokes turned up.
We were like stunned that many had shown up.
But memories remain with us, those two female police officers, stunning. LOL |

Luke re minor speeding fines :
The Police cop a lot of rider/driver frustration that`s caused by other road users, one example of highly dangerous but legal driving is - on single lane highways when there`s a slow vehicle being followed by an incompetent driver who won`t either overtake the slow vehicle or drop back enough to let others do so. I encountered that 3 times yesterday in a 170 k trip. I was driving a fairly slow 4WD van so I just kept dropping back - if I`d been on one of the fast bikes I would have picked the best time & shot past the whole mess - have to be an experienced rider & play your cards right but it`s safer than sitting amongst a mobile death trap.
The irritation then is when you get pinged for doing 5 k`s over on a safe stretch of road. |

I understand probably better than most.
I travel 100km to and from work every day (distance) on a single lane highway, and i am often in that situation and have had to exceed the speed limit to overtake 2 semi trailers.
however in saying that, i have been overtaken by 1diots going at least 150km who continue at that speed for as long as i can see them, on what really is a sh1t road.
There are incompetent drivers and there are drivers that think they are good but are the most incompetent on the road.
The moment somebody thinks there is nothing more they could learn on the road, quite possibly will be there last.
because a good driver will KNOW that every little contributing factor to an accident is always prevalent and no one day is the same on the road. |

My, albeit limited experience with QPS has been for the most part positive, I have been cited for speeding (I was ) and not wearing a seat belt (I was not)
I find them very polite when conducting RBT's, very helpful regarding firearm issues and reasonably prompt in responding to complaints re noise, hooning and general anti-social behavior, other than that my interaction with them is minimal.
I did get a mouthful recently when I phoned the police station and respectfully suggested they pull over school buses and fine prosecute the drivers for conveying passengers without seat belts and even seats, after a brief exchange the officer got a bit liverish and said "don't start fkn harassing me phone the fkn council"
Must have caught him of a bad day! |

Hardly a professional response, no matter what kind of bad day he may have been having. Unacceptable as far as I'm concerned. |

We arrested a drunk driver last night and when we had him back at the station, another crew brought in a 40+ giggling man who was UIL (high range). He had been done for the same thing in VIC and Cairns but the worst part about it was that he had also been done 10 years ago in TAS but that time he run over a 7 year old boy and killed him. Do you think this waste of space had learnt his lesson? The whole time he was sitting there he was giggling like a little school girl. Forgive me for losing my cool and not being professional but the guys had to almost restrain me because being a parent myself, I was going to kill him. What a slap in he face to this child and his family and this piece of S H I T is still out there doing this. I will be following this one closely and the court had better throw this waste of space in jail this time as if killing a child didn't stop him, nothing will. He also had the audacity to sit there and say how truly sorry he was...that's when I lost it.
Then we gave a $225 ticket to a Lamborghini driver for running a red light after he admitted he wasn't even looking at the lights as he was looking at his fuel gauge! It was a high traffic area outside of a shopping centre (lots of pedestrians) and he got all in a huff about it. Don't know what his problem was, he could obviously afford the ticket. |

I was appalled to watch what has become a regular occurence near my place - some d1ckwad in an unmarked car screaming through a school zone (during the designated 40kmh limit time), past a park filled with kids who'd just gotten out of school and past a block of busy shops at (my estimate) 90 to 100kmh all to "catch" someone who was almost imperceptibly speeding.
Next time I see it I will find where the *** er parks and give them a piece of my mind then report them. Not that reporting will have any positive effect. |

that attitude towards them is going to get your a$$ kicked in front of your kids, good role model you are.
if you are going to confront the officer, do it politely and simply ask them who you should contact regarding your complaint, if they don't give you anything, take the rego number and head to your local police station. |

Is that so? And by "that attitude" you mean being disgusted by someone who should know better acting like a lunatic.
I've got a very healthy knowledge of my rights and the $ to back them up so if one of the little d1ckheads wants to "kick my a55" anywhere for pointing ourt to them that they are imbeciles they'd best be prepared for some expensive pain.
How any fool can defend the indefeensible actions of this cretin is beyond me - the thin blue line has obviously thickened up. Moron. |

Emu, a letter with with rego of the unmarked car, and times and dates, written to the officer in charge at the nearest station, (and if you can the rego of the car being 'pursued' - that will help your cause if the cop is speeding ridiculously to catch someone doing 4ks over - and that will be on the ticket), cc'd to the Chief Commissioner, will definitely get you results. Confronting the officer himself may not be the best thing to do, if you are going to do it, make sure you tape record the conversation . |

If the w@nker hadn't been driving so fast I could have got it. Which is why I said that next time I see it I will find out where he parks his car so that I can get it. I'm sick of it - they do it all the damn time and it's outright dangerous. Whatever happened to the manned speed trap where the officer flags you down for speeding. This pursuit thing so close to schools (2) plus a park and a busy shopping area is out of this world. |

| Where I work, we have someone in an unmarked car with the radar, and a marked car down the road a fair bit (750m or so) - outside the 40k limit. We radio through the rego of the offending vehicle, the marked car does the intercept, the unmarked comes up following the speed limit to show the driver the radar reading. Pretty easy really, and it's like shooting fish in a barrel, nearly always get someone doing 20 or more ks over the limit - we don't worry about 3 or 4 ks over, warnings to 5 to 10 ks, and tickets for 10ks. |

i can see emu is a model citizen...
typical, lilaz and i both gave you the best advice you could of got and this is how you react.
and don't for one second think your money will help you. and you so called 'knowledge' is void.
and officer would tell you what i said, which is report it. or if theres no response take the rego number.
anything further you do after been told that, is obstructing police requirements which would have you thrown out the court with a fine and your so called complaint would not getting any more of a look in.
this is corruption either, this is dismissing people who cant control there temper, if you cant show decent respect, expect none. |

| what lilaz has just said goes in hand with what i was saying... if thats the procedure that unmarked cars do, and you have something verbal to say to the arresting officers about it, you are obstructing police. |

Indeed it is. But these clowns continue regardless. I'm not even sure which station they're form as the road in question is on a boundary and as the car is unmarked I can't tell. |
