In excess of a dozen so far.

Oh I see what you're getting at....

I used to attend illegal street drags.... more than 25 years ago.... saw a few back then.

Spent a couple of nights on the job with a guy whose job it was to clean up after road fatalities.

I collected a pedestrian on my bike when I was 19.

Had five happen since then right in front of me while I was minding my own business riding along.

Last one was 3 years ago... having a bit of a run through the twisty bits with a guy when a car veered onto our side of the road and forced his bike off the road and into a tree.

By that I mean I've witnessed or been first on the scene when five road accidents resulting in fatalies occured - I wasn't involved at all... I just happened to be on or near the same bit of road.

i'm not really in a position to say, however i know that the words revenue raising does not get used in a police station.

cameras are set up in locations that have been deemed to of had fatalities or the potential to. which is often decided by a a contracted stat & risk management company that has no relation to the police.

It's never pretty... then again, few fatalies by any kind of accident are - road or otherwise... although a mate of mine left a completely unmarked corpse after centrepunching a car that did a U turn in front of him.

A fine no bigger than $300?

Geez... in 1992 I got done for 160kph in a 100 zone and that was $550 and 4 points back then.

In 1992 the fine for being over 45kph over the limit was $550 and 4 points. Losing your license wasn't an option back then.

Re:Your experience with Queensland Polic ... Reply to this message
when i was 18 some mates and i went up to harvey bay from sydney to visit a mate who had recently moved there. anyway we went to this party ( which was a real fizzer) so we decided to gather a gang of teenage friends and go walking the streets. anyway we are walking up this road the the cops pulled up, i took off ( i don't know why because i hadn't done anything). one of my mates followed me and we got away. my other mates were picked up by the cops. we went back to the house that hosted the party and my arrested mates arrived back there about 3 hours later. the story i was told is that the police rolled up newspapers and were wacking my mates around the face because my mates were mouthing off. they had the swollen faces to prove it too. knowing my mates they probably deserved it.

As long as they act professionally I don't care what they try to pin on me at the scene. If I don't think something's fair then I'm fully prepared to get lawyered up and have my day in court.

"knowing my mates they probably deserved it"

LOL

Years ago I had huge accident which was my fault. The police put us both on the bag - I was over, he wasn't - but he was mouthing off so badly the cop swapped our bags over (yes, it was in the days of the individual bag tests) and the other guy got thrown in the back of the paddy wagon. I walked away with just a neg driving.

Re:Your experience with Queensland Polic ... Reply to this message
If you mouth off to the police you can't really complain if you aren't treated 100% correctly.

When dealing with them it's quite stupid be abusive - they're usually just doing their job and you'll find that if you're polite and honest then they will be in return.

If you don't agree with your treatment or penalties given then like I said before, you are given the opportunity to dispute it later.

Its like anyone really not just police, if your abusive to anyone, its likely they are not going to respond the way you think.
