How about being given a ticket for " driving Vehicle to excess limits causing excess Noise and or smoke" only to take it court, AND BOTH POLICE OFFICERS under OATH told the judge they saw the car's REAR WHEELS shower the police vehicle in stones as it took off. HARD THING TO DO WHEN IT WAS A FRONT WHEEL DRIVE TOYOTA CELICA.
THAT WOULD BE PERJURY FOR ANYONE ELSE - EXCEPT FOR THE QUEENSLAND POLICE FORCE ! |

| as i said charge was dropped,i got nothing against police, they harrassed me but after 20 years as a security guard i never raised my voice swore or argued,i took the ticket and addressed it the next day,i walked two blocks to that rank so as not to drive after 3 beers on a week night from a friends place,it was a waste of police time and resources,it was revenue gathering, period |

They are no different then any other street gang.......recognize a color and symbol, run around in packs, carry weapons, back each other up with lies in court.....have what they call a 'brother hood' just like the mob! |

Hello?! Traffic Police - it's their job to be out on the road.
Bigol - Do you think that 3 klms wouldn't make a difference? It does. There is a reason they are called speed LIMITS. If you're over, you're over. You shouldn't be doing it in the first place.
So you say they should be out there catching the real criminals? And then people complain when fatal accidents happen and they ask what were the Police doing? And that they should be out there enforcing the road rules. They can't win.
To all those people who are complaining about the QPS being 'corrupt'. Get over it. You're just pi55ed that you got caught breaking the law and you think you're above that. |

See you don't quite understand the laws of physics, the energy does not increase on an exponential curve.
3 kms over 100kph limit is a 3% increase in energy and nothing more. If it was going to be a fatal crash a 103 kph it would also be fatal at 100 kph.
As far as blaming the cops for not chatching people speeding slightly over the limit when there is a fatal crash, no-one in there right ming would make this association.
People are more likely to blame the poor condition of the roads, the poor condition of the vehicle (roadworthyness) or more importantly the poor capabilities of the drivers.
But it is much easier for police to get money from people doing 3 kph over the limit than actually doing their jobs.
Here's and interesting story for you all to read to support my argument.
http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,235 20329-661,00.html
MORE than 70 per cent of police believe speed and red light cameras are more about revenue-raising than road safety.

"You're just pi55ed that you got caught breaking the law and you think you're above that."
There is a lot to be said about laws that are made, humans have a certain kind of reasoning that allows them to make a decision (albiet in this case, law) that takes LOTS of factors in to consideration when making a decision.
The LAW does not have that kind of reasoning in it.
Example.
There is a speed camera that shows your speed as you go through the toll and shows a smile if your 30k (limit) and a frown if you 31k.
This is an example of how our laws work, 30k your of but 31 YOUR BREAKING the law.
Not even taking into consideration that not EVERY speedo is the same. |

and here we all are on a cr@ppy foru???
what makes what you say anymore truthful than what the officers say, your wasting your time guys.
get it though your heads, you cant pass judgment on other peoples cases when we weren’t there..
and for the record i laugh at people when they think they've been hard done by when there under the infulence..
have you ever spoken to someone when there drunk and your sober, of course they think there not in the wrong. Because there brain isn’t functioning properly.. that’s not to say it would when they were sober anyway.
if your under the influence and cause sh1t than tough t1ties, get over it. |

wiz i suppose where do you draw the line??
it is called a limit, and its over.
should we bring the speed limit back down to 45 in built up areas and allow 5 km up lee way?? but when somebody gets caught at 51 hit them as though they have broken the speed limit by 6kms?
what do you want them to do? |

| There is not one Cop I know that would book you for doing 3km over the speed limit. One Cop I know won't book anyone unless they are doing 20km over (which I think is way too lenient.) Even the cars set up on the side of the M1 with speed cameras (unattended) give the drivers an 11% advantage before they go off. How about you people look at the big picture here and realise that the law is there for a reason. Police don't make the rules only enforce them. Instead of blaming the Police, blame the I D I O T S you vote in to Parliament or take a good hard look in the mirror and start taking responsibility for your own actions and abide by the law. |

Well that's nice to know.
However, i have been booked by a QLD copper for doing 1 kph over the speed limit. And that was based on his word, not even a speedgun.
I know as well as anyone, it's stiff fecken sh1t for me and 'cha ching' for the government.
BTW, did you go to the hyperlink i provided, even most of the Vic coppers think it's nothing more than a money grab.

If you're telling the truth and you paid the fine, then you're an id1ot. There is NO WAY that 1k over the limit based on 'his word' would ever stand up in court. |

I like that 'if your telling the truth' bit, typical copper; everyone's lying and everyone's a crim until proven otherwise.
I don't know about Victoria, but in Qld, you have to prove innocence when it come to traffic infringements.
And the great thing is they (police) don't need any real evidence other than they said so. So i would lose, no-one wins against a verbal in this state.
It's easier to to take the hit, that to defend yourself, i think every motorist is well aware of the rules in that matter.

I've been booked in Qld for doing 3kph over the limit. I can't say I was that impressed but he'd clocked me on the radar twice and showed me the readout.
Strangely they taped the complete conversation we had. I've never had that experience either before or after. |

Alls i can say is, 'That's some good police work there, Lou'
With crims like you out on the roads, i'm glad we expend millions of tax dollars on our traffic branch instead of all that other useless police work, like catching rapists and murderers.

Yes. I for one will be able to sleep better at night knowing that dangerous lunatics like oggster have been taught a lesson....
Actually, Ive not got a problem with The Man in Queensland (or many other places for that matter.) My only encounter with them was when one told me "Do not even think about opening that beer around here. It's a $150 fine if you do."
That was nice of him. He couldve waited another 1.5 seconds and booked me instead. |

"Do not even think about opening that beer around here. It's a $150 fine if you do."
Unlike the NSW transit cop I saw at Sutherland Station who was talking to soldier who was just returning home after quite a time away. During the conversation the soldier took out a packet of smokes, searched his pockets for his lighter then lit up - at which point the transit cop promptly fined him $400.
I believe that fits the definition of "a c--t act". |

"wiz i suppose where do you draw the line?? "
I understand what ya mean but then again its HOW those lines are drawn, try this ana.logy
Wheres the line between weather its hot or its cold ???
People dont say, it 20 deg so its hot, then say its 19 and now its cold, do they?
It to me, makes me think that there is something missing when making these limits and i think that variables like variation in speedo's for instance and so on are not taken into account. Like in other laws and legislation, alot of variables are not either thought of or are dismissed in the process.
Its like my business, if i dont take variables into account when making a decision on a part of what im doing, it could end up meaning buggy software, bad user experience and lost revenue. |

The reason for that is that soooo many motorists make complaints about their dealings with the police, that by taping the conversation we can PROVE that we did nothing wrong. I tape ALL conversations I have with drivers - not that they know about it. |
