I can sympathise with you, but how's this, two years ago in the street where I live (which is in a supposed quiet country village)we had cause to call the QPS about a violent domestic which was going on in the house next door, like there was loud thumping sounds that sounded like some one hitting some one else and a female screamed three times.
I rang the police at x oclock in the morning about an hour later I rang again to tell them not to bother coming as the domestic had ended, an hour later the police arrived, two hours after my initial call, the nearest police station is about twenty minutes away, I found out later why it had taken so long for them to attend, they hade been in a meeting at the police station twenty minutes away.
This being the third time that I had had to call the police about possible life threatening incidents (two other times were about a wombat walking the street armed with a knife in a threatening manner) over ten years I made complaint to our local MP, I requested that our local police officer make a regular drive by to which I was told that he wouldn't be able to do so for very long, mind you I live three - four minutes away from the police station and residence.
Since then, after my complaint about how long it took for police attendance to these three incidents, I have had to call them about loud stereos (the mind bending thumping bass noise that you can feel physically) and guess what? our local officer drives along the highway where these scumbags can see him and conveniently turn the racket off before he drives past their residence, without stopping to warn them about their misdeeds.
So much for being able to rely on the police to enable your saftey and well being.

Emucorp you have totally missed the point! I don't lump all of the public together as stupid and to suggest that is just ludicrous. My comment was not aimed at all the posters on this board either but the low lifes in society. You have absolutely no idea do you?. Well, when you walk back into an interview room and some animal has defacated into their hand, placed it in their mouth and then spat it at you or removed their used t a m p o n and flung it at your head then you have the right to put S H I T on Police, until then, get off your pathetic soapbox for God's sake. I'm sick of the self righteous, poor picked on civilian 'Police are no good' attitude!

No actually, It's you I feel sorry for as you only have your opinion and don't want to know about the reality of the job. Save your condescending comments, heard it all before.

Tell your story walking sandy_mac. We all have our own skeleton's we have had to deal with, some worse than others. It's whether you accept responsibility and stop blaming others for your misfortunes which makes the difference. By the way, having opinions hardly mean you are immature or don't have a life D O P E Y.

Many years ago (approx 15) i was sitting at the front of my house with my husband (ex) and brother, we had a few drinks during the day and were just relaxing under the tree on the footpath ...was near the bay so we were relaxing, we saw someone come out of the house on the cnr, we knew they were on holiday,a person walked toward us with a backpack on there back, my brother put his foot out and tripped this person up and in the process broke his leg(hehe)we held this person there while we called the police as this person being a female had robbed the cnr house, the police cld see we were all well and truly under the weather but allowed us to drive behind the ambulance to the hosp,,, once there they said hello to us and watched us all climb back into our car with bro stretched out on back seat to take him home....also i said to the police lady at the time.."just let me smack this b**ch once she broke my bro's leg" the police lady replied "i cant let u do that but what i dont see wont hurt me" with that i belted her right in the mouth!! dont know if u wld call that corrupt or not but it was mighty fine of them that nite!! lol

I'd just like to say stealth that I appreciate the police very much. I live in Perth and just trying to get to work and home in one peice without being racially abused or attacked is harrowing, (I'm white by the way) I couldn't imagine having to put up with this c r a p on an hourly basis. You all have my utter respect and I acknowledge that you are all human and as humans do, make mistakes on occasion which the media and P.C. brigade are only too happy to pick up on...then will call on your services when they are in trouble!

Re:Your experience with Queensland Polic ... Reply to this message
Sandy_mac that is awful for what happened to you but does that mean you hate all men as well? I can assure you that I wouldn't do that to you being a Police Officer, besides, you wouldn't be my type (not into females). So to hate the whole Police Force is extreme. You need to deal with your issues via counselling or something as the whole Police Force did not do this to you remember.

Re:Your experience with Queensland Polic ... Reply to this message
I like cops and not because i want to be one. They were there for me when i fell pregnant to a sexual assault. They gave me advice and the case was dropped because thats how i wanted it. My father made me report it and most people will ask me why i didnt and its because i blame myself. To this day i still do. Some that i have met are the nicest people you will ever meet.

Two months after i had my son one of the detectives who interviewed me spotted my dad at the tip and actually remembered our names. He told him if i ever needed anything to let him know and thats my experience with the Queensland police service.

Re:Your experience with Queensland Polic ... Reply to this message
I was supportive of the QPS for most of my life and provided assistance on numerous occasions. Over the years however I have had too many unsavoury experiences with custodians of law & order, experiences that have shown the QPS is riddled with totally incompetent thugs on a power trip, consequently I will never again trust anyone wearing the uniform, neither will I go out of my way to assist a cop. It may well be that the number of thugs is in a minority, however the obvious 'brotherhood' policy ensures that 'good' cops invariably cover up for the 'bad' cops. The Fitzgerald Inquiry was undoubtedly a good thing at the time, but it failed to institute a proper, sustainable, accountable mechanism to ensure future corruption would be exposed & eradicated. Unfortunately the CJC / CMC / ESO are merely shams designed to create an impression of accountability whilst allowing evil to continue unchecked.

Re:Your experience with Queensland Polic ... Reply to this message
read the story in the courier mail dated 13 april. young bloke pulled over and cops thought his steering lock was a gun .

in my personal experience with qld police , i have found them to be a bunch of useless corrupt peado loving scumbags .

they do not investigate genuine complaints of violence , agression, property damage ,or crimes of a sexual nature against children .

where are the cops when u need them ? writing out speeding fines or other minor breaches of the law that the public cannot possibly expect to fight and win.

------------------------- ------------------------- --------
I can guarantee you dads.writes that the Child Protection Unit or detectives DO NOT write out speeding fines, that is left up to general duties police. As general duties, you are not allowed to investigate crimes against children, that is passed to the child protection unit. AOBH, glassings, robbery with violence etc. is dealt with by detectives. I take offence to being called a 'peado loving scumbag' because I would be the first one to flick the switch on these animals who cannot be rehabilitated. Just like all jobs, everyone has their role. I could follow in your lead and class all civilians as drug dealing, low life scumbags or the like but I am a bit above that and know that there still are good people out there. We may have to deal with the lowest forms of life on a daily basis but every now and then, a good one comes along and restores your faith. Is it a case of your dealings with Police meaning that you have been on the wrong side of the law numerous times to have such a negative attitude? I agree that there are some Police that should not be in the job but they are the minority. Don't tar the rest of us with the same brush when we are out there trying to make a difference and dealing with things that many of you thankfully, will never have to. As for speeding fines, the law is there for a reason and applies to everyone. Don't break it and you won't cop the fine. It really is a simple equation.

All police have the power to issue tickets especially when people behave like morons. Don't complain if you get a speeding ticket, it's your fault.
