Having just reread a few of the previous posts though coming out and calling those who post on here who we know are in the police force clowns is not wise either...and I know Luke is not yet a policeman.

Surely you are generalising as well in your comments re overtime.....and Maccas.

That's ok Peter...that is if you're still giving it...the apologies still...after last post.....lol

Look...I don't know Peter...you may have an inside knowledge I don't....I am purely looking at it from an outsiders view....I have only ever had favourable dealings with the police.....in fact if you have read all the posts in this thread you will see that they have been most helpful in our situation.

'in fact if you have read all the posts in this thread you will see that they have been most helpful in our situation.'

if you do, disregard anything i said to emu, i was in a foul mood that night and it was not appropriate behavior.
i just happened to start reading the boards after thinking about a mate i had lost and thinking of my reasons for joining the police.

'And lukey if you feel theres any false remarks in regards to me discussing on this board the past corruptions and ongoing investigations into police corruption please feel free to point out my mistakes. As this is a discussion board I see the internet police have popped out of the woodwork as usual.'

the only thing that i continue to point out is that there are many different sides of the story. We mainly hear the media’s,
and it seems that people are quick to want to hang these police ‘ACUSSED’ of doing something wrong.

its like why there are not as many male teachers anymore, there scared there going to get accused of touching a student, i know a few blokes who want to be teachers but think it isn't worth it for this reason

It always facinates me that we are the first 'clowns' you call when in trouble but you are quick to bag and pigeon hole all of us!
As with most jobs, we DO overtime and don't have a choice in the matter as it usually entails so low life bashing their partner up!
We also might swing past Macca's and yes, at times do get a discount but hey, half the time when we are on the road we don't even get a meal break because of all the jobs we have to attend and time does not permit so we drive through there as it is quick and easy. Please forgive us 'clowns' as we have to eat too!

Some people are unaware that police are actually human. I stupid woman actually complained about me one day after she saw me *shock horror* EATING an APPLE on the van - only bit of sustenance I had time to throw down that shift. She came into the police station and demanded to see the boss so that she could make a complaint about the blonde policewoman who was 'eating on duty'!!!!!!

Couldn't resist but weigh in here and throw a few compliments about.. More than once the Police have been there for me.

I appreciate every effort they made, the sooner the general Public realise these people are just humans, and that Police mostly are just ordinary people under incredible pressure who need the support of the Community the better, what would our society be without them?

And there are Good and Bad ones sure, but isn't that the same for ANY DEMOGRAPHIC. I would say the balance would be towards the good BIG TIME.

Agreed - except I think it's high time some police realised they are just humans - not demi gods.

" wasn't aware how many people were truly stupid until I joined the police force"

Wow ... I wouldn't have thought the police force as a whole was any stupider than any other group of people on average but thanks for that insight.

Re:Your experience with Queensland Polic ... Reply to this message
Well emucorp you have to understand that most dealings Police have are with uneducated criminals hence the comment about 'truly stupid people.' Even though you come across as anti Police, you would have to agree that at least Police have a certain education criteria that has to be met before you are accepted into the academy. When you are out dealing with undesirables on a regular basis, you have the right to make these statements. If you are not in the job, you cannot comprehend what it truly entails regardless of the war stories you hear.

Re:Your experience with Queensland Polic ... Reply to this message
....and please don't bother lumping me in your neat little box with either the stupid or uneducated. I am neither. This thread asked for 'your experience with the Qld Police' and I truthfully replied. My son was assaulted in full view of cameras and a police officer protected the perpetrator.

Looking back I can see only disdain and easily thrown nasty comments from the 'police officers' who inhabit this place. Your comments have done absolutely nothing to change my opinion. I am educated enough to know that there are good coppers around I am also truthful enough to realise that there are bad ones as well. I choose not to stick my head in the sand and pretend.

As for the little gutless sniper with it's one line comments - you didn't fail me, once again. Wipe that L off your forehead, it makes you look quite ridiculous.

Re:Your experience with Queensland Polic ... Reply to this message
what i dont get is people on this keep saying the police are overworked and overstressed, i whole heartly agree, why is it then they can WASTE resorces by hiding behind bushes to catch moms and dads doing 5 kays over the limit or some "HOONS" doing burnouts at 3am in the middle of the bush. maybe they need to focus on real crims that are getting away with serious crimes.

Re:Your experience with Queensland Polic ... Reply to this message
"Even though you come across as anti Police, you would have to agree that at least"

No I don't.

Firstly I am not anti-police - however convenient the label may be - I am "anti" the constant barrage of stupidity and abuse of power that I - personally - have seen and experienced from the police I have interacted with.

Secondly the very obvious "them and us" mentality - akin to a siege mentality - that is evident here is symptomatic of the 'police' who lump all together as "stupid".

"We", the public, have every right to comment on the way "we" are treated and "our" experiences as well as have an opinion on other events and incidents. "You" do not have the right - despite the overwhelming God complex some police have - to tell "us" what "we" can and cannot comprehend or can or cannot comment on.

oh and by the way i think there should be a rbt on every corner (if we had the resorces) then we might see some real drops in the road toll. the amount of times sitting in traffic on the m1 and you see some moron cracking a beer.

I'm sorry emu but the 'them and us' mentality is borne out of our experience. We deal with 5% of the population 95% of the time. Those 5% are either criminals or people who are too stupid to be able to run their own lives and as such call the police and expect them to be able to sort out ANY little problem that they have, and then refuse to take advice anyway or help themselves in any shape or form. Most of the 'clients' I deal with during my day to day job, are indeed stupid.

Re:Your experience with Queensland Polic ... Reply to this message
actually, you know what??

i want every police officer to have a camera on there shoulder.

this would solve everything, and maybe people will start to see when there sitting in court, that they were the unreasonable one to start off with.

Thats assuming that whomever has the complaint is the one who is in the wrong, Thats just competely unfair to those who have real complaints about real assults, charges etc on the police members.....
