"I could explain further emu, but I don't think that anything that I might say to justify my operational decisions would make any difference to you would it."

Lilacz ... which part of "buy a handsfree like the rest of the world" are you struggling with. Hey - you might find eating the donuts easier ... ;->

Seriously.

And most of all i really dislike police officers who think that just because they have a 'police badge' that they can do and say whatever they want...
Even if you report them... there superiors protect them..
So in a way we are not protected!!! just because we have dont mean that we are safe!

ffs emu, I might need to use my mobile maybe once or twice during the shift. With all the equipment that I already have attached to me, I would not wear a handsfree earpiece the whole shift - given the fact that I'm usually in and out of the van a hundred times. To put on the handsfree earpiece I would have to stop the van, and sometimes a few seconds can make the difference.

as some one else said, im sure there is about 20 different versions of the incident that involved your son.

the only one i know if one that a son told a father.

if it is true, its a clear case of corruption and it is a disgrace, still not worth hating every officer over though.

with out a full inquiry the truth is lost. im sorry i don't have a solution for you.

i dont what more i can say mate.

"With all the equipment that I already have attached to me, I would not wear a handsfree earpiece the whole shift"

Most of them are easily in and out - and there's plenty you can clip to your visor or other part of the car menaing there's no delay at all.

I highly recommend the Blueant Z9 which whilst a little more expensive is extremely lightweight - you'd barely notice it. Works for me - but then I like to reduce the risk of killing or injuring others.

But hey - if you'd rather claim an "exemption" that unecessarily endangers others then so be it.

No, lukey, I told you that I was speaking to my son on a public telephone at the time of the assault. Please don't presume to call me a liar.

I am of the female variety!!!

I heard the whole incident, it was in the main street in full view of cameras, with witnesses standing there and heard by myself. As I said it is all documented. Don't worry about answering any further, your reply has told me all I needed to know.

lukey_88,

___

hi mary,

i didn't respond because as i said to another poster, i don't know the full circumstances, and the credibility of yourself and the other poster seemed good.

sure you have some hate for officers, and i'm saddened by that, but there your experiences and not mine, i'm not going to dismiss it like my life experiences have been tonight.

i don't know every officer, i personally know about 20 officers, one of which i think could behave better, the others are great family men. one who goes home upset because they had to drag a young person into lockup for been in a drunken fight.. and watch them throw up all night in the cells crying.

i'm sorry for your experience.

that's an uncalled for comment emu. btw, it's been proven that handsfree doesn't reduce the risk of accidents much compared to non handsfree. I don't have a handsfree cause I simply don't use my mobile at all when driving when I'm off duty. I am a highly trained and skillful driver, and I've never even come close to having a prang at work whilst on the phone. :P

I haven't seen those studies ... and as they're not legislated on I guess they're not being taken seriously. ASre they NH & MRC?

The point you choose to miss is that ... oh why bother.

Re:Your experience with Queensland Polic ... Reply to this message
Well they ARE being legislated on in vic. P platers will not be able to use mobiles AT all soon. I guarantee that it will be for all drivers in the future.

thanks for that.. but not only qld police but nsw too...
pretty sad when a someone visits their father [i was only young about 12 or 13] only to have him dragged away in handcuffs and put in the paddywagan! for being friends with a group of bikies whom my father grew up with.. primary and high school!
They wanted to know if he would become a witness for the police against his friends!
they made it look like he was getting arrested!
treated him like sh..it pushed him etc
I got pulled to court as a witness to the fact my father had done nothing wrong, i was interigated for 6 hours for my statement!

jeezus emu, you are seriously anti police aren't you. You've got absolutely no idea how difficult our job can be. I do MY BEST EVERY single day that I do to work - putting my life on the line for pathetic pay and very little thanks. I LOVE IT THOUGH, and I know that I have made a difference to many people's lives over the years.
