It thus took that eminent expert 15 years to face plain and crucial scientific facts that were avoided and disparaged by traditional authorities and some industrial sponsors. I took me 10 years after graduating. It is time for remaining fluoridation promoters to get past collecting titles of supporting political authorities and stop ridiculing opponents as if they were all dupes, cranks, quacks or dimwits. They may then make a similar apology..

Doug N Everingham MB, BS (Univ Syd 1946) Member, Australian House of Representatives 1967-75 and 1977-84 Australian Minister for Health 1972-75 Vice-President [West Pacific Region's nominee] at World Health Assembly, Geneva 1975.

Post script from QAWF

The Federal Labor Party has initiatives in Oral Health that they can be very proud of ( starting the Scool Dental Service - Gough Whitlam sent 100 dental therapists to New Zealand for training to get it started quickly) and Labor introduced the Commonwealth Oral Dental Health Scheme

The Queensland Government's actions in forcing fluoridation and forcing it based on fraudulent data will never be an action that can be looked back on with pride.

What I find intesting is one of the fastest growing and profitable part of modern dentistry is veneers. This is the stock dentistry remedy to cover unsightly fluorosis caused by the fluoridion that they recommend.
Also this as a process that is irreversible, the enamel (that their so concerned about) being irrepairably damaged in fitting and fixing.

The ADA policy statement 1.2.1. is a good read which lists one of the consequences of "too much" fluoride being large areas of enamel missing.
Or on page 7 where the water supply is less than 0.3ppm fluoride (water fluoridated to 1.0ppm) no fluoride supplement to be given to infants 6 months and younger.

FLUORIDATION PROVED NOT TO WORK AND NOW QLD HEALTH IS CUTTING OUT SCHOOL DENTAL SERVICE TREATMENT
$35 million dollars wasted on forced water fluoridation would pay for a lot of school dental therapists and education programs.
Gough Whitlam sent 100 dental therapists to New Zealand for training to quickly start up the school dental service

STATE PULLS PIN ON SCHOOL DENTIST CHAIR

"Kicked in the teeth " By Jennifer O'Reilly
Townsville Bulletin - Saturday February 16, 2008 pages 1 & 2 Townsville and Thuringowa are the 'twin cities' referred to below.

CHILDREN will no longer receive free dental care at school.

The Queensland government has stopped offering treatment in its school dental vans because there is not enough staff to man them.
A letter sent out through schools this week says that the vans would only examine students and provide a report to parents on the state of their teeth.
They will then have to seek treatment at private dental practices or take their chances with long public dental waiting lists.
"Due to expected demand for treatment you may have to wait for a while for an appointment for non-urgent treatment," the letter said.
Queensland Parents and Citizens Association Northern Region president Mick Cutler said parents wanted to see the dental van visits saved.
"We would be disappointed but we also understand the reality of change," he said. "We'd hope they have the capacity to recruit more staff. "When Queensland children have the highest rate of tooth decay in Australia of course we would like to see the dental vans continue.
"We also need to continue the education of our children on better eating habits that don't contribute to (poor dental health)."

In the past all Queensland children from four years old to year 10 at school have been eligible for public sector oral health services. The non-emergency dental treatment is provided at schools through dental clinics and dental vans on a rotational basis. Parents sign a consent form allowing the dentists to check for cavities and put in fillings, if necessary.

In February 2006 the Townsville Bulletin reported annual free dental check-ups for students across the twin cities would be stretched out to every two years.

At the time a health spokeswoman blamed the wait on the twin cities' population surge.

Leading dental researcher Dr Kerrod Hallett said he had been shocked by the sorry state of Townsville tot's teeth on his last visit to the city.
Dr Hallett is trialing a new mouth guard, designed to stop decay, at Vincent State School. The paediatric dentist hopes the trial will stop young children from suffering the pain of tooth aches and rotting teeth.
"I examined 16 children on the first day," he said. "Out of those one had a healthy mouth. "I was quite shocked myself."

A small section copied from the Queensland Governments Dental website PDF paper, Code of Practice for the
Fluoridation of Public Water Supplies
http://www.health.qld.gov.au/oralhealth/documents/ 4438.pdf

Appendix 1: Health surveillance for workers exposed to fluoride compounds

Legislation

Because compounds used for the fluoridation of water supplies appear on the National Occupational Health and Safety Commission's "List of Designated Hazardous Substances", the Workplace Health and Safety Regulation (1997) - Part 13 (Hazardous Substances) applies. This includes sections 109(1)(b) and (c) that deal with the health surveillance of workers exposed to hazardous substances. Section 109(1)(b) deals with the medical assessment of a worker by physical examination. Section 109(1)(c) covers the use of biological monitoring to detect an excessive absorption of a hazardous substance through the an-alysis of biological fluids such as blood or urine.

This OK for the handlers of this toxic substance, but what about those who will be forced to drink this TOXIC substance? Where is their monitoring?

Please Support the E-Petition calling for a water fluoridation referendum in Queensland.
Help fight forced water fluoridation by signing the E-Petition on the Queensland Parliament website ; please click on link below ( or paste into browser if not live ) QUEENSLAND RESIDENTS ONLY
http://www.parliament.qld.gov.au/view/EPetitions_q ld/CurrentEPetition.aspx?PetNum=1007
The petition reads:"Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the high level of public concern in relation to mandatory fluoridation of Queensland's potable water supplies.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to give the people of Queensland the opportunity for an informed choice by referendum on mandatory fluoridation, to be held prior to the debate on the bill."
Whilst this is not everything we would want, because a lost referendum can force people to consume fluoride against their will, it is the best opportunity to tell the Government how we feel. It is also an opportunity for people who believe in the rights of others to have a free choice, to also have their say, by supporting this petition.
The Principal Petitioner is Denis Connolly, 11 Dawson Road, Gladstone, Qld. 4680 and it will be sponsored into the Queensland Parliament by Independent member - Liz Cunningham MP.
This is very important - Please sign the petition NOW. Note: The closing date is 21st March. If you are against Water fluoridation, add your signature now.

Seriously everyone, whats the problem. I brushed my kids teeth once EVERY day with fluoride toothpaste till they really cracked up (about 8 years old) and after that were supervised. They had fluoride tablets till their adult teeth came through. At ages 18 and 20 they have never had a need for any sort of dental intervention and have great teeth. Parents take responsibility! My kids diet wasn't perfect but they had rules about brushing.

I'm quite happy to take responsibility, our kids have great teeth without fluoride.
What I object to is the State medicating the water supply and what's more with a substance that also intentionally adds lead, mercury, a r s n i c, cadmium and chromium as well.

Now that we have new "Super Councils" It might be time to start petitioning our new councils to stop the poison Fluoride from being added to our water supply.

Unfortunately "Super Councils" are being instigated to further disconnect people from the machinery of government. It makes it much easier for parties rather than true representatives to get elected. Super Councils are about rigging the system.

I love the whole 'my kids were fine so what's the problem?' mentality.

My mother smoked throughout her pregnancy with me and I survived, so what's the problem? Right?

Well, statistically, a baby is in much greater danger if it's mother smokes. Similarly, fluoride is a great danger that will affect a sample of the population negatively. Just because your kids were fine doesn't mean others will be. All it means is that you have a poor education and don't understand statistics.

Besides, some of the problems, like Fluorosis, don't happen until much later in life. So even your kids aren't safe yet.

Re:Flouride in drinking water! Reply to this message
POLITICIANS HAVE PASSED BILL TO FORCE WATER FLUORIDATION ON 4 MILLION QUEENSLANDERS.

On behalf of Queenslanders Against Water Fluoridation ( QAWF Inc ) I would like to thank the many people who have recently contacted us saying that they do not want fluoridation forced on them and also the many hundreds of people who have sent us copies of complaint letters that they sent to Queensland Politicians or the Chief Health Officer.
Many people may not be aware that the BILL that will mandate water fluoridation on almost all of Queenslands public water supplies was passed through the Queensland Parliament late Thursday night 13th March. The BILL as passed, additionally removes any liability from the government, politicians, Councils and water authorities.

The Queensland mainstream media has barely reported on the passing of the BILL, an article in the early edition of the Courier Mail was replaced with an article of an unrelated issue in the later edition. The Queensland Media has also not reported that it will be impossible for anyone to be able to sue for any harm caused by water fluoridation, even harm resulting from accidents.
On the 12th February a delegation which included a Medical Doctor, a Doctor of Biology and a Medical Scientist presented to the Premier, Health Minister, Chief Health Officer and Chief Dental Officer, evidence that Qld Health had doctored data on tooth decay that Qld Health used to promote water fluoridation and also showed how Qld Health had illegitimately dismissed a study showing a robust link between water fluoridation and Osteosarcoma in boys.

The delegation also informed the government representatives of a recently re-confirmed link between the use of Silicofluorides ( the Qld government intending using these chemicals to fluoridate the water ) and increased blood lead levels in children and several other health concerns associated with water fluoridation. The issue that water fluoridation was unethical mass medication that no doctor would be allowed to force on patients was also raised with Premier Bligh. Additionally, it was pointed out that people of limited means would be not be able to afford water tanks or Reverse Osmosis Units or bottled water and would be trapped and have no choice in consuming and bathing in fluoridated water.
Despite this delegation and despite most politicians receiving copious quantities of information showing that water fluoridation made little difference to decreasing tooth decay and that there are many legitimate concerns for adverse health effects and that the NHMRC or Qld government has never conducted a single Health and Safety on any human organ other than teeth, most Queensland Politicians voted to pass the BILL. Only 2 independents Dorothy Pratt and Liz Cunningham voted against the Bill, with another Independent, Rosa Lee Long who had also spoken out against, not able to be present for the vote.
In the last 3 years there have been several developments that should have seen any government be cautious about introducing water fluoridation, yet the increasing developments to cease or at least urge caution, has apparently made the Qld Government even more determined to introduce it.

In an apparently political move to show unity with the Liberal Party in a prelude to forming a new combined Coalition Party, all the National Party MPs voted for the BILL, despite all voting against mandated fluoridation in 2005. All the members of the Labor Party, had voted against mandated fluoridation in 2005, but under Premier Anna Bligh in 2008, all voted for it.
Where to from here?
Apparently Parliament is supreme; they can make any law they wish, especially when one Party has an overwhelming majority, but that does not mean fluoridation cannot be challenged in other ways. It has been successfully challenged and rejected in some other countries.
The Committee of QAWF is investigating ways that water fluoridation can be challenged legally and is continuing a fund raising campaign to enable this. (Many thanks to those of you who have already donated.)
Additionally QAWF would like to establish a database of Queenslanders who are more at risk from effects of water fluoridation, particularly ~

ï‚· people who are chemically sensitive, or who may develop allergies if their water supply is fluoridated

ï‚· parents of boys under 20 years of age
It would be very much appreciated if people who are in the above categories could send their email and phone contact details for future contact to risk@qawf.org . All details will be kept strictly confidential.
With your permission, QAWF would like to keep in contact and continue to send out information that can be of help to inform others of the " other side " of water fluoridation.
Water fluoridation is very wrong: it is an American invention from the middle of last century that was used to help the American Aluminium industry get rid of their waste products.
Less than 5% of the worlds population drinks fluoridated water, with northern America being half of this 5%.
Apart from the Republic of Ireland where fluoridation is also mandated, Australia and the USA are among the most heavily fluoridated countries in the world. With Queensland , Australia would become even more fluoridated than the USA.
We may have lost round 1, but QAWF members intend to persevere with your interest and support until we see an end to forced fluoridation, which even the Queensland Government's 2003 Position Statement on Water Fluoridation admitted is " unethical mass medication "
We hope that many of you who receive this message are also willing to persevere until we see an end to the unnecessary, unethical, outdated and potentially harmful practice.

"The BILL as passed, additionally removes any liability from the government, politicians, Councils and water authorities."

What is Anna Bligh and the Labour Government hiding?

If Sodium Fluoride is "SO SAFE", then why do they have this legislation to protect themselves?

If it as "SAFE" as they pretend, then they would not need to protect themselves!

What is the TRUTH Captain Bligh?

Are You to "SCARED" to hold a referendum?

To afraid the people of Queensland will stand up to you and say NO to Fluoridation?

Not only does the Bill remove liability it also has extensive powers of compulsion, entry, search, siezure and all but the removal of of any power on the part of an individual to bring a matter before the court.
The Minister can also label as vexatious an application not to comply with the requirement to fluoridate without having to show cause or reason. It runs 55 odd pages.

What a nice little bunch of nazis.

Sodium Fluoride is a culmulative poison. It is a toxic waste created from aluminium production, they dispose of it by making the people drinking it. The queensland government should removed from power.

99% of western continental Europe has rejected, banned, or stopped fluoridation due to environmental, health, legal, or ethical concerns. Only about 5% of the world population is fluoridated.

"In 1978, the West German Association of Gas & Water Experts rejected fluoridation for legal reasons and because 'the so-called optimal fluoride concentration of 1 mg per L is close to the dose at which long-term damage [to the human body] is to be expected.'"

For those who are opposed to forced fluoridation of our water supplies.

There was a wonderful segment tonight on Channel 7s Today Tonight on the "
other side " of water fluoridation and harm.

Featured were Prof Paul Connett co-founder of the Fluoride Action Network
www.fluoridalert.org and Dr Andrew Harms a former head of the South
Australia Dental Association who is now very opposed to water fluoridation
and wants to see it ended in Australia.

Also featured was David a wonderful and dedicated activist from Geelong and
a lady who has severe allergies to fluoride.

If you saw the story it might be a good idea to ring Channel 7 and
congratulate them ( so they will do more ) and if you did not see it phone
Channel 7 ( or use the link below - look for Viewer feedback ) and ask them
if they will put it on their website so that others can view it.

This Today Tonight article will help inform , let's get the word out to as
many people as we can.

Please ask friends, relatives and people at work if they saw the story and
tell them about it if they didn't.

Now, I don't know if this is true. It has been heard as a rumour, and as a rumour, it may be false.

But the rumour has it that Anna Bligh is seeking to have her house fitted with a reverse osmosis water filter, these filters are the only type that will filter out Fluoride from the water supply.
IF this rumour is true, then it flies in the face of her rantings that fluoride is safe.

As I said at the start, this is a rumour and it might false.
