Hydrofluorosilicic acid. Originally a by-product from the manufacturing of Aluminium. Amazingly studies funded by the Aluminium industry found that it somehow reduced cavities in teeth, and instead of having to pay very high costs for storing toxic waste, now had a reason for governments to buy their waste as a public health product.

Fluoride issue comes back to bite Bligh

By Gabrielle Dunlevy

http://news.theage.com.au/breaking-news-national/f luoride-issue-comes-back-to-bite-bligh-20090227-8j ng.html

The decision to add fluoride to Queensland's drinking water has come back to bite Premier Anna Bligh on day five of the election campaign.

Taking calls on Rockhampton radio station 4RO on Friday, Ms Bligh took a barrage of criticism on health issues, particularly fluoridation.

One caller, Dan, said the government had imposed huge changes on central Queensland, including fluoridation of water and amalgamating local councils, that should have been the subject of a referendum.

"You say to people trust me, and we've had the experience of forced amalgamations, we've had forced fluoride ... and the other thing is daylight savings," Dan said.

"You've got to give the people a choice."

Ms Bligh said the fluoride issue had been debated in Queensland for a long time.

"Every public survey conducted by any reputable body in Queensland over the last, I think, five or more years has shown overwhelming support for fluoride," she said.

#This is BULLSH1T!!! There is NO overwhelming support AT ALL!!!

"I thought it was time to get on and do it so that our children had the benefit of one of the most beneficial public health initiatives that's enjoyed in all other parts of Australia." ...

# The benefit of being slowly poisoned!!

It's time to vote the Dictator OUT!!

Please help make forced fluoridation and recycled water for drinking an election issue in Queensland.

You may be aware that I, Merilyn Haines, spokesperson for Queenslanders For Safe Water, Air and Food am nominating as an Independent Candidate for the South Brisbane electorate (Anna Bligh's seat).

Although this has been a safe Labor seat, Queenslanders For Safe Water, feel that a candidate in Anna Bligh's own electorate is a very good vehicle to get the word out that forced fluoridation is not safe, not effective and not ethical, also that recycled water should be used by Industry, not for drinking. And who knows what can eventuate?

I am self funding my own campaign but would welcome any assistance that may be offered to help letter box drop flyers or manning polling booths on Election Day 21st March or by having signs in people's front yards in the South Brisbane electorate. While this email is mostly intended for people in or near Brisbane, people in other areas may wish to forward to interested friends. Some people have already kindly offered their assistance, but if there are more helpers, the load is less.

If you would like to assist, please contact me anytime. If you would like to assist financially, no matter how small, that too would be very welcome. If you know someone who may like to help, please let them know or forward this email.

A new website www.merilynhaines.org is under construction and will soon have information about policies other than our absolute right to have pure and safe, unadulterated water.

FORCED FLUORIDATION AND RECYCLED WATER FOR DRINKING DESERVES TO BE AN ELECTION ISSUE.

Attached please find a spreadsheet with the contact details of all LNP candidates in the coming election. In late December 08, Lawrence Springborg was reported as saying that the LNP did not like fluoridation being forced and that they would consider a Referendum in areas that had not had fluoridation implemented. This is not good enough, everyone should have a choice and if implemented people with certain medical conditions, disabilities, should have provisions made for them. However this coming from the LNP is good news, they have a long way to go, but it is a good start. I can supply contact details in a word doc, or email if spreadsheet unable to be opened. The list will be put onto our website www.qawf.org soon.
Anna Bligh made all Labor MPs vote for forced fluoridation in 2008, despite all Labor MPs voting against in 2005. The Labor Party has no intention of ending fluoridation while Anna Bligh is the Premier.

May we encourage people to contact their LNP candidates, ascertain their position and request that they make a strong stand against forced fluoridation and the addition of recycled water to our drinking supplies.

We also encourage folk throughout Queensland to write letters to newspapers and phone talkback radio stations.

ANNA BLIGH GOT AN EARFUL ON RADIO IN ROCKHAMPTON ON FRIDAY AND IT WAS MOSTLY ABOUT FLUORIDE.

Very best wishes,

Media Release from Merilyn Haines, spokesperson for Queenslanders For Safe Water, Air and Food and Independent candidate for South Brisbane.

On the 15th October 2008 at the Q2 Forum held at Logan University, Premier Anna Bligh was challenged on misinformation that has been put out by Queensland Health on the status of Queensland children's oral health.

The Premier was also challenged why she and Queensland Health were claiming water fluoridation was safe, despite no health and safety studies ever being done in Australia and why she had removed all liability from harm in the Legislation that forced fluoridation on Queenslander's. The following document, as scanned and later reported by the Brisbane Times, was read out aloud in front of at least 200 people and the Premier asked to sign a personal guarantee.

Amazingly, for a Politician who is normally very cunning, Anna Bligh signed the document, indicating that she must NOT have done any personal research on water fluoridation before she forced it on 4 million Queenslander's. This was a very foolish action and could prove to be a significant problem for her in the future.

In five years time, many children who have been born after fluoride was forced into Queensland's water supplies will start exhibiting mild Dental Fluorosis (marked or pitted tooth enamel) as they start losing their baby teeth and start getting their permanent teeth. Data from South Australian and West Australian studies indicate 30% of children will have mild Dental Fluorosis in their permanent teeth and that one to two children per hundred will have more severe Dental Fluorosis requiring expensive "cosmetic" dentistry to disguise.

In the future, parents of Queensland children requiring dental work to disguise marked Dental Fluorosis may now be able to claim compensation directly from Anna Bligh because of the Bligh guarantee document.

Dental Fluorosis is just one adverse effect of water fluoridation; reduction of Thyroid activity, allergies and hypersensitivity (exhibited as skin rashes, migraines, joint pain and abdominal pain, increased rates of hip fractures with long term consumption and increased storage of fluoride in the bones of kidney impaired people (many Diabetics) and increased risk of Osteosarcoma bone cancer in boys are other adverse health effects. People suffering from these health effects may also be able to claim compensation, although this will not be as straightforward as Dental Fluorosis claims.

Any election candidate who promotes fluoridation and if elected, wishes to continue forced fluoridation should take 5 minutes to Google "fluoride". We recommend starting with www.fluoridealert.org and search "Fluorosis"

A new fluoride and recycled water brochure is now available for viewing and printing from www.qawf.org and from www.merilynhaines.org We urge candidates to consider this information.

Any election candidate who is confident that they still support forced fluoridation is now DARED to sign a similar personal guarantee that they too would accept liability for its adverse effects.

Bligh puts house on the line for fluoride
Andrew Wight | February 12, 2009 - 1:17PM

Anna Bligh has signed a personal guarantee that could cost the Premier her personal assets in a court battle if people become sick from water fluoridation, a Brisbane lawyer said.

This week, Ms Bligh confirmed she had signed a legal document in which she accepts full personal liability for fluoridation and promises to provide financial compensation in the event that it causes adverse health effects.

Fluoride was introduced into the state's water supply in December. At the time, Health Minister Stephen Robertson was presented with two petitions totaling 6000 signatures against the move, which will see a final fluoride concentration of 0.6 parts per million.

The document, which Ms Bligh signed on October 15 at a community meeting, was first published in the Hinterland Voice independent newspaper.

"The Premier signed the document as a demonstration of her commitment to fluoridation," the Premier's spokeswoman said.

"She did not make this decision lightly and stands by it."

But the promise could provide a loophole for anti-fluoridation activists to take legal action over the roll-out of fluoride.

Mark O'Connor, a compensation specialist and partner at Brisbane law firm Bennett & Philp, said state laws prevent residents from taking any action against water authorities.

However, he said the Premier's pledge means she could be liable as a private citizen, although it would be difficult to establish a case against her.

"You'd have to provide medical evidence the condition has been caused by consumption of fluoridated water and not another factor," Mr O'Connor explained.

He said anyone bringing a case against Ms Bligh would have to show they had changed their behavior on the basis of the promise.

"It's an unusual case. I've never seen this done before," he said.

"It would appear she is giving a personal guarantee, rather than a guarantee on behalf of the Government.

"Any claim would therefore be against Ms Bligh's own assets.

"I doubt she would put her assets at risk, unless she was sure that fluoride wouldn't cause disease."

At an anti-fluoridation rally on Tuesday, Queenslanders Against Water Fluoridation spokeswoman Jeanie Ryan said the group was still calling on Ms Bligh to end fluoridation because of its health effects.

An article published in the respected medical journal Lancet said fluoride can cause neurotoxicity in laboratory animals, but hasn't yet been proven to be toxic to humans.

Studies in rural communities in China have found high fluoride concentrations in well water may cause skeletal abnormalities and affect intelligence.

Australian Dental Association Queensland branch president, Rockhampton dentist Greg Moore, said there could be a 20-40 per cent reduction in tooth decay as a result of fluoridated water.

Dr. Bill Osmunson's response to the attack on Paul Connett and other FAN members by Plattsburgh, NY, dentist:

RE: Local dentists firm in fluoride support

SAY "NO" TO FLUORIDATION
http://www2.fluoridealert.org/Alert/United-States/ New-York/Plattsburgh-Local-dentists-firm-in-fluori de-support

When scientists do not have scientific support for a theory and are challenged, the response is to attack the messenger rather than the message. I will not attack the people supporting fluoridation because as a dentist I supported fluoride supplements and fluoridation of water. I thought I could see the difference in my patients, but I was looking at socioeconomics not fluoridation. The rich are healthier, the poor have more cavities.

A careful review of both sides of the research was like a knee in the gut. We are ingesting too much fluoride from many sources. Fluoridation no longer reduces tooth decay or dental expenses. The risks from fluoridated water are serious, very serious.

Some have claimed those opposed to fluoridation use junk science. Not true, unless one considers the Journal of Public Health Dentistry and the Journal of the American Dental Association are also junk publications. There is more than enough good strong scientific evidence to stop fluoridation and I would be pleased to send some of the evidence to anyone who asks.

First consider mother's milk, 250 times lower in fluoride than formula mixed with Plattsburgh water. The American Dental Association and Centers for Disease Control recommend fluoridated water not be used for making formula. Those promoting fluoridation are in effect suggesting that mother's milk is flawed, defective, and inadequate for infants. I disagree. The mother's body and breast filters out the fluoride protecting the infant and there is no better scientific evidence for an infant's diet.

Second read the label on fluoridated toothpaste. With variable wording it says, "drug facts," "use a pea size," "do not swallow," "if more than brushing is swallowed contact the poison control center." Very serious warnings. A "pea" size of toothpaste has 0.25 mg of fluoride, the same as one glass of fluoridated water. The Food and Drug Administration has serious concerns about a very small amount of fluoride. Fluoridation is an unapproved drug and unapproved for fluoridation and considered by the FDA to be one of thousands of illegal drugs. Remember the CDC does not test the safety of drugs, the FDA does.

It makes no sense to force everyone to swallow what the FDA warns not to swallow. If someone wants to swallow fluoride, they can disregard the FDA and swallow a pea size of toothpaste and let others simply say "NO" to drugs, respect the FDA warnings and please, permit and respect the freedom of choice of others.

RESEARCH has it that Fluoride also accumulates & calcifies in the 'pineal gland' which is an important hormone control centre (fluoride also lowers ones IQ) which of course, one can see by various posts throughout this thread.

People have to understand that the Government is misleading you to believe that the fluoride which is added to drinking water is natural. IT IS NOT. the type of fluoride which is added to water is SODIUM FLUORIDE and NOT Calcium Fluoride.

Research and find out for yourselves before your IQ drops to your ankles :-P

oh just to add

Sodium Fluoride is the black gunk scraped out of factory Chimneys after a process involving Aluminium, loaded onto tankers which display signs saying "HAZARDOUS WASTE" and then carted off to Toothpaste manufacturers and is THE fluoride which is added to the water you are now drinking.

Happy Drinking!

Hi folk who are opposed to forced fluoridation.

As you may be aware, I am President of Queenslanders For Safe Water, Air and Food www.qawf.org and I am running as an Independent Candidate in the South Brisbane Electorate (against Anna Bligh)specifically as an avenue to send the message that many people are unhappy about forced fluoridation and that recycled water should be used by Industry, not put into our drinking water.

I am emailing to ask whether you may be able to assist handing out "How to Vote" cards for me. If you are able to assist, it would be great if you could help out in the morning (7.30 to 1pm)or in the afternoon(1pm to 6pm)or for any time that you could spare. The South Brisbane Electorate comprises the suburbs of West End, South Brisbane, Highgate Hill, Dutton Park, Kangaroo Point, East Brisbane, Wooloongabba and also part of Annerley, Greenslopes and Coorparoo.

As there are 18 polling booths in South Brisbane and preferably with having 2 or more people to man each booth, morning and also afternoon, it takes a considerable amount of people power for this exercise.

While there is an Optional Electoral system in Queensland now, my How to Vote card directs preferences to the LNP. In the Courier Mail, just before Christmas, Lawrence Springborg stated that they did not like fluoridation being forced on people and the LNP would consider having a Referendum in areas which have not already been fluoridated. While this is not good enough, it is a significant start. The LNP policy on recycled water is that it should be used by Industry and only ever put into Wivenhoe Dam in a dire emergency.

I am hoping that Preferences may help dislodge Anna Bligh, who is solely responsible for forcing fluoridation on Queenslanders.

My election flyer has been distributed across the South Brisbane Electorate by volunteers (many, many thanks) but assistance is still required on the day.

FAN Bulletin 1056: Renewed effort to fluoridate Europe

March 22, 2009

Dear Chuckanoo,

Fluoridation is a practice in which a relatively small number of people, with limited scientific qualifications, are intent on fluoridating drinking water supplies worldwide with very little to no understanding of fluoride's toxicology.

Global Consultation on Oral Health through Fluoride. The worldwide ambitions of this dental lobby was revealed in November 2006 when the WHO (supported with a lot of cash from the US as well as the sugar lobby), IADR (for whom the fluoridation practice represents the gravy train for dental research) and the FDI (funded by the toothpaste, sugar, pharmaceutical and chemical industries) organized the "Global Consultation on Oral Health through Fluoride" in Geneva and Ferney Voltaire, 17-19 November 2006. These bodies (WHO, IADR and FDI) issued a declaration containing this chilling and preposterous phrase: "universal access to fluoride for dental health is a part of the basic human right to health." Click here for the full statement.

Since this declaration was made we have seen a stepped-up push to fluoridate countries in Asia and the Middle East, with a very public push in China. Hopefully, China and India, with huge a endemic fluorosis problem, will not be easily fooled.

Now we see a visible push to fluoridate Europe. Hitherto, most of the European countries have resisted American efforts to fluoridate their water, only England, Ireland and Spain took the bait. But there are many dentists in Euroepan countries who still support the party line, and can be counted on to use their "prestige and authority" to support the measure.

Evidence for the push comes in an invitation from the European Commission. This body is soliciting comments on on their "Working Mandate on fluoridation" and submissions on papers, reports, etc., published after 2004 on fluoride.

Now, an innocent reader of this statement might believe that the European commission is really concerned about the Irish being fed this poison, or concerned about the fact that the UK government is set to double or triple the number of people fluoridated there, however, there is a phrase in this European Commission invitation, which gives the whole game away. They say "no one doubts the beneficial effects of fluoride."

"No one doubts the beneficial effects of fluoride!"

What that phrase announces loudly and clearly is that the dental lobby still has the inside track on this issue in Europe.

They also know that the dental lobby is standing by to provide consultants (like Bazian Ltd. who did the job in Southampton) to demolish the studies done in non-fluoridated countries where many adverse health effects have been observed with exposure to high natural levels of fluoride. We have seen how highly paid consultants can make black into white and fluoride safe enough to sprinkle on your cornflakes! That is if they can get away with the ridiculous notions that the 507-page report by the National Research Council (NRC, 2006) has no relevance to water fluoridation and the equally preposterous notion that the studies from four continents showing a possible association between fluoride exposure and lowered IQ in children, have no relevance for children drinking fluoridated water. Consultants like Bazian Ltd. appear willing to parade themselves as experts when they clearly don't know the difference between concentration (mg/liter) and dose (mg/day) or the difference between dose (mg/day) and dosage (mg/kg bodyweight/day) and also willing to duck the critical discussion on "margin of safety" or the other critical steps required when trying to determine the safe dose of toxic substance when a whole population is to be exposed. (See links to Bazian's reports on the 2006 NRC report and the IQ studies.)

We have to get honest and independent European scientists and doctors quickly up to speed on this issue. In this we will need the help of the International Society of Doctors for the Environment (ISDE).

Meanwhile those of us forced to live with this foolish practice have two tasks.
