"NO MEDICAL PROCEDURE SHALL BE CONSCRIPTED OR FORCED UPON US."
It's not a medical procedure.
Should they hold you down and circumcise you, that would constitute a medical procedure.
Fluoride in the water is not a medical procedure. |

"I do not choose to to be FORCED to drink POISONED water"
No one is forcing you. Filter your water. Buy bottled water. Simply boil your water and evaporate off the fluorine and chlorine.
No one is forcing you to do anything.
Get a grip.
The electromagnetic radiation from your computer screen is more harmful to you than the fluoride in the water. But you choose to sit there day in, day out, peddling out this alarmist crap.
I repeat: Get a grip.
Oh... and Merry Christmas to you. :-) |

FAN Bulletin 1026: Another meta-analysis of Chinese IQ studies published
December 27, 2008
Dear Chuckanoo,
Another meta-analysis of Chinese studies showing a possible relationship between fluoride exposure and lowered IQ has just been published. This study by Liu and Cian of the Department of Health Statistics, China Medical University, in Shenyang, China was published in Chinese (see the English abstract below). The authors reviewed 13 individual studies and found that their statistical analysis suggested "a negative correlation between high fluorosis exposure and children's intelligence development" and concluded that "Exposure to high levels of fluoride may adversely influence children's intelligence development." FAN will be using some of the money we are raising right now to have this translated, along with the other 5 Chinese IQ studies which are still only available in Chinese.
This study by Liu ad Cian comes on the heels of the study by Tang et al. (2008) published in August and an analysis by Connett, M and Limeback, H, presented at the IADR conference in Toronto, in July. All three reviews have yielded similar conclusions.
Links to all 23 individual studies (from India, Iran, Mexico and China) which report an association between fluoride exposure and lowered IQ in children is at http://fluoridealert.org/iq.studies.html
One wonders how long zealous promoters of fluoridation will be able to maintain the fiction that saving at most 0.6 of one permanent tooth surface (Brunelle and Carlos, 1990) can possibly justify risking the development of our children's brains. This third review of the issue certainly provides another reason for more professionals to sign the statement calling for an end to fluoridation worldwide, as well as more ammunition for our 2009 campaign. |

New meta-analysis from China (abstract)
Title: Effect of endemic fluorosis on children's intelligence development: a Meta analysis.
Authors: Liu M, Qian C. Department of Health Statistics, China Medical University, Shenyang 110001, China.
Journal: Zhongguo Dang Dai Er Ke Za Zhi. 2008 Dec;10(6):723-5. [Article in Chinese]
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of high levels of fluoride on children's intelligence development by analyzing the literatures systematically.
METHODS: The literatures on the relationship between endemic fluorosis and children's intelligence development published between 1995 and 2007 were retrieved electronically and manually. A total of 13 relevant literatures that met the inclusion criteria were included for Meta analysis. Meta analysis was performed using the Coorporative network software RevMan 4.3.
RESULTS: The subjects of the 13 literatures included 2 508 children from the high fluoride group and 2 330 children from the control group. Meta analysis showed these literatures were inh0m0genous (x2=268.05, p<0.01). Therefore a random effect model was used. The average effect scale (OR=-7.14; 95%CI: -9.90, -4.37) suggested a negative correlation between high fluorosis exposure and children's intelligence development.
CONCLUSIONS: Exposure to high levels of fluoride may adversely influence children's intelligence development. |

"Exposure to high levels of fluoride may adversely influence children's intelligence development."
The operative word is "high".
They're not going to get exposed to "high" levels of fluoride by drinking the town water supply.
They're just NOT.
Get a life, buddy. |

"Optimal" regarded as 1ppm.
"Harmful" level regarded as 4ppm.
Even though the NHMRC have written in their drinking water guidelines that people with impaired kidney function 1ppm is effectively 3ppm.
The US ADA also state that infants should receive zero fluoride.
This is excluding multiplyer effects once in the food chain.
This 1ppm is also optimal regardless of how much you drink so a roof tiler in Queensland who may drink over 20 litres of water is still receiving the same "optimal" fluoride as a office worker in Sydney who may pull up well short of 2 litres even though getting 10 times the amount - very scientific.
All this while doing zero Australian studies on adverse effects on other than teeth - NHMRC.
Read the data for the States and Territories and you will see that what is being presented as the benefits of fluoride are being done in a blatantly dishonest way.
But please binji do go on. |

Heres one.
http://www.hsibaltimore.com/ealerts/ea200311/ea200 31113.html
I got my information from someone who works for one of the water authorities. She said she finds it rather disturbing that we would go down this path ourselves.
This is one interesting snippet for the Against group.
"Meanwhile, tooth decay trends tracked by the World Health Organization from 1970 to the present show that the incidence of decayed, missing, or filled teeth has been steadily in decline with each passing year in the U.S., France, Germany, Japan, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, The Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Austria, Belgium, Portugal, Iceland, and Greece. Better oral hygiene and improved dentistry are the most likely reasons for this upswing in dental health. But it certainly can't be attributed to the fluoride.
Because out of all of those countries, only one adds fluoride to the public water supply: the United States."
That is rather interesting one would think.
Its pure and simple really, fluoride is a poison 100% there is no two ways about it.
From my stance, its the forced medication that pisses me off, i will not have a government tell me what is good for me and what is not, im sure im quite capable of making those decisions myself and will seek out the appropriate information to make those determinations myself.
The average voter is not as stupid as the government will have you think. |

Queensland: Fluoridation opponents set to back Lawrence Springborg
By Tristan Swanwick
http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0,23739,2 4854127-3102,00.html
OPPONENTS of water fluoridation have vowed to give LNP leader Lawrence Springborg their vote if he moves to scrap the controversial practice.
Almost 80 per cent of southeast Queensland households are now drinking fluoridated water.
Only Toowoomba, Caboolture, Redland City and pockets of the Sunshine Coast, north of the Maroochy River, are still to come online.
Premier Anna Bligh has said the initiative would help turn around Queensland's bad oral health but the Government continues to receive criticism.
Queenslanders for Safe Water, Air and Food spokeswoman Merilyn Haines yesterday said the group would throw its weight behind Opposition Leader Mr Springborg.
"The fight definitely isn't over," she said.
"There's a state election just around the corner and if 30 per cent of people are opposed to fluoridation, and half of that change their vote, then it could be a very hot issue.
"The LNP are looking at making it an election issue and they've said they're looking at a referendum.
"We would be encouraging people to vote for (Springborg) if he's promising a referendum."
This month, Mr Springborg told The Courier-Mail the LNP did not have a policy on fluoridation but he promised greater community consultation in areas yet to be affected.
"Where it hasn't gone in, we would certainly be consulting with them," he said.
Ms Haines said Queenslanders unable to afford filtration systems were considering legal action.
"Discrimination cases can be made and we'll be looking at that very closely," she said. "There is already a class action group being formed."
"Anna Bligh just says you can use reverse osmosis (a common filtration system) or buy bottled water for the rest of your life, but a lot of people can't afford that. |

"People should have a choice, it should never be forced on us."
Health Minister Stephen Robertson has consistently said fluoridation is safe.
"There have been numerous studies and subsequent reviews which have confirmed the safety and effectiveness of water fluoridation in reducing dental decay," he said.
All state water supplies will contain fluoride by 2012 under the $35 million project. |

Rainwater is only as clean as the atmosphere it falls through.
You might get a nice drop of chateu avgas if you live in a flight path.
If you want pure water, distill it. |

NEWS RELEASE - FOR IMMEDIATE USE
4 January 2009
MINISTERS FORCED TO BE ACCOUNTABLE
Three Queensland government Ministers - the Premier, Anna Bligh and the Ministers for Health and Water are being forced to change or justify their decision to add toxins - including from sewerage and fluoride to Queenslanders' drinking water.
Two safe water advocacy groups, the Peoples Class Action group and Queenslanders for Safe Water, on Friday 2 January 2008 served legal notice on Ministers Craig Wallace and Stephen Robertson in the form of more than 600 individual letters from people demanding their rights under the Judicial Review Act.
The letters request the Ministers to properly investigate the scientific evidence, including more than 200 pages of references to scientific and other evidence attached to the letters, and then make a decision to recommend to the cabinet the repeal of the legislation enabling the addition of fluoride or sewerage water toxins to the public water supply.
Should this request not be complied with, the letters then invoke the provisions of the Judicial Review Act 1991 to require Written Statements of Reasons for the failure to do as requested. Each letter must be fully and personally answered within 28 days.
This tactic by law requires answers. Unlike petitions, which politicians notoriously ignore, the Law mandates that the Ministers must provide answers, and if the answers are not forthcoming, the two groups promise to drag the Ministers into the Supreme Court and force them to justify their refusal to recommend to cabinet and the Parliament, the repeal of the fluoride and recycled water legislation. |

Spokesperson Bruce Bell said: "There is no way any sane person who examined the mountain of scientific evidence could ever support these toxins going into our water. The Supreme Court would be forced to declare the Ministers' decisions invalid in Law. And that would be a first for the people and real democracy in action."

FAN Bulletin 1035: Update on the new FAN video
January 10, 2009
Dear Chuckanoo,
Correction: in the last bulletin we gave the date for Kevin Hurley's statement on the Burlington Board of Health vote as Jan 5, 2008 - we hope that you all guessed that we meant Jan 5, 2009! Please make this change if you file copies of this bulletin.
The new FAN DVD: "Professional Perspectives on the Fluoridation Debate"
We know that many of you - like us - are anxiously waiting to receive and use the new FAN video, so here is an update.
On Jan 8, the day he returned to law school in Philadelphia, Michael Connett finished the editing of this 28 minute video. We have watched it and are very, very happy with it. The following experts address a series of 10 issues in the fluoridation debate:
Lord Earl Baldwin
Arvid Carlsson MD, PhD, Nobel Laureate
Bob Carton PhD
Sir Iain Chalmers MD
Paul Connett PhD
Brent Foster JD
Walter Graham, one of the leading and most successful opponents of fluoridation in Northern Ireland
Bill Hirzy PhD
Vyvyan Howard MD, PhD (President, International Society of Doctors for the Environment)
Robert Isaacson PhD (NRC review panel)
Tim Kropp PhD (toxicologist, formerly with EWG)
Hardy Limeback DDS, PhD (NRC review panel)
Phyllis Mullenix PhD
Bill Osmunson DDS, MPH
Kathleen Thiessen PhD (NRC review panel)
And please watch out for Don Smith's cartoon on how fluoridation promoters see the human body!
Aside from the new 28 minute video, we have included all four FAN "Professional Perspectives" video vignettes (available online) featuring Bill Osmunson, Brent Foster; Vyvyan Howard and a panel discussing fluoride and kidney function.
It includes a feature which will allow any of the 10 sections on the 28 minute to be viewed separately. We are hoping this feature will be particularly useful for people wanting to use the tape at public meetings or public hearings. |

We hope some will send it to their local Cable TV stations, which are obligated to air videos like this when requested. We will have an online Permission-to-use letter for these Cable stations. You may also make multiple copies for sending it to your friends and other contacts.
We are hoping that many of you will use this video to get more professionals to sign the Professionals' Statement Calling for an End to Fluoridation (2,034 signers). In conjunction with that idea there is a professionally designed layout of that statement online -- click on the symbol below the words PDF of statement.
Once the tape has been distributed to our donors it will then be available for a wider audience and orderable from our web site, as well as being made available via Google. |
