The bit I like is anyone can ridicule straight white Australians with no fear of retribution, but if a white Australian even looks like they are gonna criticize a so called 'gay', an indigenous person, or someone from another country then watch out !!!!!GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRR

I'll stir up a hornets nest by b itching about call centres (whether locally or offshore) populated by folk who have at best a nodding acquaintance with Australian english. Whilst we may have a policy of employing non-Australians in proportion to their percentage of the population, what mindless galah decided to plonk them all in positions that involve public contact ??

Exactly my point. I can understand why companies use offshore call centres, they are lot cheaper than local ones & the beancounters love to save a few dollars & to hell with cuastomers, but funny languages in local call centres doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Can't they find enough locals to work for peanuts ??

"I think its a bit silly that people dont have rights to smoke in pubs just because non smokers dont like it. Well if you dont like it you shouldnt be at a pub plain and simple."

Thats not an answer, people shouldn't have to avoid pubs because of smokers. People have a right to be there.

If anyone goes to a hospital and they are in there and there are people smoking are they are going to ask us to leave? ohh sorry Mrs. jones we can't attend to you cause your not a smoker.

Doesn't matter what environment it is. It effects people's health and can get into their lungs.

A pub is not for smoking.

Too bad so sad.

Nah, too many intrusive laws. I`m a reformed smoker, and even I don`t agree with the anti smoking laws.

Too many laws, not enough freedom.

I agree, but then we have too many stupid people and unfortunately a lot of them are in positions of power. For example, when was the last time you encountered a halfway intelligent cop, magistrate, judge or politician ?? All of those dimwits get their jollies from exercise of power, hence the number of moronic laws.

Re:Discrimination Reply to this message
down with smoking diseases too, they are discriminating against the supporters of smoking...well sucking in and puffing/coughing out..anyways...
user pays and the sooner the disparity is covered by taxing cigarettes to cover medical expenses the better...
although the govt. needs to stop rorting the tax collected.

Mae every country is discrimination. I went to america and one pathertic family said do australia have kangaroos out in the streets .

I went to india and they end up saying the most rediculours questions and im not going back to india they all seem to look freaked out when they see a white tourist.. they all stop in the intersection streets they all stand there as if i was famours.. with the anger i had i did the wund ups with my fingers and a nice smile.. you know 1 and 2 fingers up at them all with a smile. Though i could had scared them since i have a beared and im an ex bikey..

Another thinmg i went to france and they end up saying the same about kangaroos living in the streets and airports. like what on earth are they on about.

seriously the world is a complete mess.. i really dont care

as if we would have koalas and kangaroos living in the streets and roads. teh.
