My opinion is that I don't want to visit a site that is promoted by "do you cry when you visit".

I don't like to cry.

Certainly didn't cry but felt sorry for the child that he had such an irresponsible father. Spend 18 months of his sons life on drugs and then blames others. Typlical

Typical of someone who's done drugs, as I have a brother who was like this and the horrific things this young two year old went through, because his father and mother were so zonked out of their brains and were'nt aware of what was really going down. He was raised by his grandmother and even today my brother tries to make out what a wonderful daddy he was, when in fact he should be standing trial for what that kid went through. Justice has been served and I am pleased he has ended his life so he can't suffer anymore. Take off your rose coloured glasses and place the blame where it belongs, back with the parents.

Foster Care > i get a shiver down my spine. Haven't seen my son's little mate for a while now....probably has been moved on again with some luck. The stories he used to tell me of his foster mum made me ill with rage. Some foster parents prove to be the biggest of all abusers - only in it for the money and to hell with everything else. Your website was touching and i'm sorry for your loss. If i were you i would expect some answers too.

Just keep in mind everyone that this would of never happened to Luke in the first place, IF THE PARENTS WHERE DOING THE RIGHT THING BY LUKE IN THE FIRST PLACE.
So yes I feel very sorry for Luke and having a chance to live his life.

I tried my best to get my son back. I tried my best not to be near him if I was on any drugs. Here are all the references, courses and counselling I did, it made no difference.

I loved my son and did everything they asked. Drugs was just an excuse in the end. It didn't matter how long I was straight or how hard I tried, nothing would get them to give him back. This is not just about me and Luke. It is about changing a out of control system, and saving babies.

++++++++++++++++

trying your best not to be near him when you were on drugs is obviously not good enough. what happened when WERE on drugs and around him?

maybe THAT is one of the reasons your child was in foster care??

luke Its very sad that you lost your child.DOCs are not to blame.You and your wife are to blame. You both did drugs then you brought achild into the world and neglected it.you say it didnt matter if you did drugs or didnt.DOCS still didnt trust you.What did you exspect.Stop feeling guilty and show your son that you will never do drugs again.That way he will rest in peace.

Make up your own mind, I can't say exactly which of these videos I would have been influenced by drugs in but one thing is for sure, I lived for my son. I did everything I could for him, including giving up drugs. I had a bad drug problem, and who doesn't have problems, but I overcame them for my son. My son did not deserve to be left to die because I had previously had a drug problem. No child deserves to go through what my son endured. I have said nothing about what his mother did to him. Remember that. I never purpously hurt my son ever, what hurt him the most was being taken away from the person who loved him most, and shifted from strangers house to strangers house. I am sure if you asked Luke, he would have chosen to be with his father.

Re:Luke's Army - Do you cry when you vis ... Reply to this message
What sort of an idiot puts an active two year old baby with a seventy four year old woman who is already overloaded with three older abused children. The same sort of person that thinks it ok for babies to die whose parents meddled in drugs. These are people that are supposed to know more than drug addicts, but don't know the first thing about kids. There are too many people who have been bullied and given false labels by the department of child safety for that story to wash anymore. There is a huge problem of babies dying while in foster care. That is not my fault, or Luke's. Luke was happy with me. He loved me. I had a job and stable accommodation. I was drug free. I did everything and more to get my son back. One of the visits I had with Luke was supervised by an outside agency. The visit supervisor went back to DoCS and told them I was a terrific father and my child should be returned. They wouldn't listen to her. I would just like to point out to people that there are numerous employees of DoCS that have no sympathy for children, and my child was just another death. They are the type of people who will stick up for the department of child safety, right or wrong. They are the sort of people that put up insensitive posts like this. You cannot treat children and families the way we were treated, and then blame it on the parents who were right all along. Say what you want but it takes a whole website to tell all the things that DoCS did to my little Luke.

Luke,What do you think you're going to acheive from writing and complaining about docs.You will never win they are a goverment.You say they put your child with an old lady .That was not right.Your child was only 2.When did you give up the drugs.Where was the mother of the child .. Where was your family do you have a mum or dad..It seems you have alot of the answers.I dont think you gave up the drugs before your son was born because docs would not have been involved.I am not judgeing you .I feel terrible sad for you and your loss.You also have to remember that the people that work for docs are also human and they make mistakes.I dont think you will resolve anything .If it makes you feel better to write and ease, the pain then do so.

I think the agency does need to be checking out the foster people properly.The trouble is that there is so many children neglected now that there're just putting them to anywhere.I know from along time ago 2 little children were taken from a disfunctional family was given to a family that lived next door to me. These foster people were no better,they were alcholics.Make sence of that.

if you weren't on drugs, and your child hadn't BEEN HARMED, your son wouldn't have been removed from your care.

whatever happened to him in foster care was obviously awful and wrong as well. no child deserves to die. nobody here said that because you did drugs your child deserved to die.

just that you should take some responsibility for your own actions.

+++++++++++++++++++++

you said Luke was 2 years old. a 2 y/o cannot make choices about who he wants to live with... that is why the state has to act to protect when parents are not willing or able.

Whilst lukesarmy might have a legitimate complaint against DOCS, nothing will ever be achieved by continually whinging 'woe is me'. If the system doesn't do what one believes it should do, the only sensible solution is to put the 'pity party' on hold and join forces with others who are actively involved in fighting for change. A number of victims have won compensation but with non-disclosure conditions.

I am not just whinging, one of my demands was to change the name of DoCS, it is an insult to me for there to be a despicable entity such as this evil group who can continue to cause devistation to so many families, unhindered.
The management of DoCS must be seriously refurbished. The whole system needs to be analysed for shortfalls and malpractice.
If Luke doesn't qualify as a perfect example of what can go wrong, then who does.

Re:Luke's Army - Do you cry when you vis ... Reply to this message
Before I started Luke's Army, there was
ihategovdept and altnews.com

Upon contact with DoCS a family is already obviously at a low point. You now also have a whole department, many who are a vengeful and overly suspicious, breathing down your throat looking for an excuse to take your child/children. No wonder there ar not enough foster parents. They are too quick to take your child, and they make it impossible to get them back. They take so many kids off people they fail to see the impact his has on the child. But the child's parent can see it, can feel there terror. More has to be done to help people instead of judging them. Sure judgements must be made, but it is ignorant and arrogant to walk into a house thinking you are always right. They should show mercy, not judgement if I may quote Jesus. You had noone to turn to except these two groups who were virtually unheard of. Solicitors do not want to know you if you are only on legal aid, which lets face it, most of the people misfortunate enough to have to deal with DoCS are. We now have more groups forming, Citizens Against DoCS, Action Against DoCS, these are here not for money, but to answer cries for help. They are run by people who have experienced worst case scenarios, and cannot bear to sit back and watch with the knowledge of what happened to them is still happening to countless other families.

Re:Luke's Army - Do you cry when you vis ... Reply to this message
I will put in a claim for compensation, not because I want money, because I want to do everything possible for my little boy. They have wrecked my life, but they killed my little boy. Everything that I lived for. The more I say on the internet, the more chance I have of blowing any chance of payouts. They will twist my words of love and sorrow that come straight for my heart, and do their best to distort the truth. This is another part of the system that needs to change. I asked for every meeting to be recorded. This needs to be mandatory. Especially in a department with so many disputes.
