The fuel subsidy has been scrapped so now the magic place we once knew as QLD is gone FOREVER!Everything once held sacred and perhaps taken for granted will now disappear!We may as well move to any freakin where now.This place will now become one of the dearest places to live as those that use the lack of a fuel subsidy as an excuse to raise prices will do....50 FOLD!!!

Not only that, No sooner do pensioners get a well desereved
increase and that B***h takes it away by forcing price increases in the weekly grocery bill, Not to mention other price hikes that will follow. Only one thing to say about her "INDIAN GIVER" if that's allowed to be said these days.

The fuel subsidy issue is just the tip of the iceberg, the Queensland Labor Government has mismanaged this state into serious trouble. Alarm bells have been ringing for years with the disintegration of our health system and all other infrastructure.
These shifty little spinsters (as in spin) are only concerned with image, the welfare of the State comes a distant last with them. |

Besides that, Anna Bligh is trying to sell offour assets, and we all know what happens when public becomes private. Worse service and higher cost.
Time to move interstate.
I know some retirees who are moving back to nsw and vic, much cheaper to live down there, in vic especially, not sure about nsw. |

I didn't vote for her either - once she poisoned our water with fluoride so I now have to buy bottled water, but this is the first sensible thing she's done.
Pleasure dome Qld had to go and if all the sthn retirees go back there might be room in the hospitals for Qld'ers.
You can ignore the RACQ - they're just speaking for their $WD planet blighter members. We need to encourage people out of excessive and into public transport. Grow your own veggies. We'll all benefit when people drive less especially diesels that cause most of out heart and cardiovascular disease. |

The full extent of the Bligh Labor Government's financial mismanagement was laid bare today with confirmation of a fire sale of state assets and the introduction of new fuel tax just 74 days after the State Election.
State Opposition Leader John-Paul Langbroek questioned why the Premier didn't tell Queenslanders about her plans for an asset fire sale and a fuel tax when she called an election six months early.
"Despite the mining boom and the rivers of gold that flowed in to Treasury's coffers for more than a decade, this State Government didn't put aside anything for the tough times and are racking up a $74 billion debt," he said.
"Now the State Government is looking to flog off whatever asset they can at the worst possible time with the market at rock bottom.
"To make matters worse, the Bligh Labor Government will introduce a fuel tax for the first time in the state's history.
"A fuel tax will cost jobs. A fuel tax will cost jobs in tourism, construction, agriculture and transport industries, and it will hit every Queensland family in the hip pocket at a time when they can least afford it.
"Queenslanders have every right to feel betrayed. It's only been 74 days since the Election. Why didn't she tell Queenslanders what her real plans were before she dashed to the polls six months early?"
In State Parliament today, Mr Langbroek tabled a copy of Labor's 2008 State Platform document which states 'Labor rejects a program of privatisation of public services, such as public hospitals and schools, public enterprises including subsidiary companies or utilities (in particular rail, ports, public hospitals and water) as an economic strategy.'
The Labor platform document goes on to state that 'Privatisation of public enterprises should not be used to solve revenue problems of governments.'

Fuel sales will drop some I feel, think that every interstate semi leaves with full tanks of cheap QLD fuel, they might not bother so much now.
I wonder if you are still going to get that weekend price hike down in the South East, try that caper up here and the servo could get strung up, we don't have that weekly cycle rip off. |

| This is only the tip of the iceberg. Fuel subsidy, lack of roadworks, hospitals etc are actually minor symptoms of the larger disease of incredibly amateurish mismanagement, over a long period of time. |

| they are going to introduce bike licences with red p plates from primary school green p plates from high school then finally remove p plates when you are 21 with speed limits on bikes of 20 km/h and demerit points for taking both hands off the handle bars and failing to give correct hand signals at intersections. and here is the kicker you must also get a rwc on your bike. |

You obviously live in an area where public transport exists.
Many dont and it isnt practical to drive the little city oriented cars in the regional areas if you want to complete your trip safely .
I drive a diesel 4WD for necessity and safety ,nothing else will perform the tasks required to travel to site carrying the necessary equipment .
As for the RACQ they are now nothing more than a city based travel service ,long gone are the days of practical advice on motoring issues.
I havent posted on these boards for quite some time due to extreme personal attacks by members who think they own all rights to the use of the boards. |
