A bit west of the wide bay area.
I doubt anything around here has to be cyclone proof. Too far inland. In anycase, that's one of the council's main gripes with all the sheds - they don't comply to any building standards. |

Too true Miffy, then there are all sorts of other requirements, applications & fees etc. We`re over regulated to death - I know because I`m a building designer & have to deal with it every day - waste of people`s money. |

I actually think that has more to do with real estate agents and property developers wanting to make a buck than it does the building permits and standards. |

answer: i believe australia adoptec the cat 3 or 4 kinda standards from usa.....as they do from all things from military to even the plastic bottles u take fer granted nowadays.
please think nothing of your quality issues that represent australia...its either it works or dont work as performed!very simple and basic.hardly even mentioning quality word even.
i gurantee you the yanks know how to build it cheaper and better than aussies anytime anywhere hands down.and that is my objective view.if that werent so,,,u could all start building your commercial airliners,aircraft carriers,jet fighters and have your own car factories without american help in the past!
the cost of a house even with transportation shouldnt even cost $100,000.why??because there isnt any industries worth mentioning to justify a house thats even worth $100,000.
look...do u see any factories near your house?if its not worth any place that churns out money and has only 4 or 5 factories and lil cottage industries supporting those big factories...it still shouldnt be worth $100,000 or more!maybe worth less even!
the value of houses in australia isnt justified...without any significant industries next to it,,,,,,u are all deceiving yourselves...and your future generations as well.
significant as in that they should be profitable industries and the combinaation of all the industries should be the size of brisbane or half of it.
but i guess knowledge on how things werk n the future of things might be too overwelming for most of you here. |

i dont see any house worth $50,000 in qld....
qld is not switzerland.....its got no beautiful ski slopes,no lush green manicured land ,no rivers and beautiful scenery.....in fact most of qld looks like some NASA space probe that crashed somewhere on Mars and is sendingpictures back to earth!
THAT IS HOW BAD QLD ,AUSTRALIA LOOKS LIKE.....ITS NO SWITZERLAND!!!QLD RATHER LOOKS ABIT LIKE THE FAR SIDE OF MARS.

What sort of business are you in Miffy? - I was a registered builder for 22 yrs & I`ve been doing building designs and applications since the 1970`s. Developers do sometimes make good money, but their risk is also very high. Real Estate agents are nothing more than useless parasites however you look at them. |
