| How much longer will it be before the DEPT of CHILD SAFETY is made accountable for their officers actions?Sure there is a complaints section that takes months to get a reply from.It takes up to 6 months just to get into court and meanst while the time allowed with your children is only 2 hours a week.When mistakes are made there is no apology but just put down to a learning experience for DOCS s staff.Children under 4 can not express their rights, so who is really protecting them. Come on MINISTER take a real look at what happens to families when your Dept becomes involved. A concerned grand mother |

| The Ministers office wont do anything i know i have tried to get them to review a case and they simply brush it off to other departments so it goes in an endless circle with no one taking any action. The media has been 'gagged' so no one knows that DoCS dont follow there own policies, DoCS carers can give contaminated bottles,put toilet trained child back in nappies,call a child around 11yrs a liar when reports of harm are made against these carers they can refuse medical treatment.If carers say things didnt happen they are believed but when a parent says the same they are not believed and instead have their words twisted to suit DoCS. DoCS policies are outlined on there website so is their hand book and yet even when this is used to show they did not follow procedures correctly they brush it off and when you do go through the complaints procedure you still get brushed off and abused for complaining, i know this first hand. No one will take on DoCS for them causing unnecessary emotional and physical trauma to kids in their care, parents, grand parents, aunts or uncles have no rights or say what happens to these children. Unless the STATE or FEDERAL GOVERNMENTS above the minister step in nothing will change and DoCS will continue to destroy the childrens lives that were removed from their parents under false allegations and fail to protect those that truely do need protecting. It is a fight that will never stop until someone takes notice. Most people that work for DoCS dont have any children of their own so they only know what can be learned from a book and this is not enough, these same people can make false claims to courts and get away with it. DoCS workers believe they are above the courts and that they do not have to up hold any orders made by the childrens magistrates court if they dont feel like it. It is an absolute joke that this department can get away with what they do and there is no one willing to stand up and listen to or help parents or grand parents |

| There is doubt at all we have let this family down badly ,our system like most govenment departments in Queensland is so top heavy with beuorocrats the actual work not being done leaves very large cracks indeed. No doubt Premier Bligh will bluster and form a committee, which seems to be the labor way,but getting something done will never happen. How long have we waited for a decent ambulance,hospital,educat ion, ect ect. Trying to return Dr death is a fiasco going on for years. What terrible managers now costing lives. Surely next election they cannot talk their way out of this. |

| Once again the Dept of Child Safety has excuses for the loss of 2 little angels at Sunnybank Hills.When is the Minister going to accept that there is major problems in her Dept.hild are dying, young children are losing contact with their familys, the childrens courts are so delayed that it is months before people can be cleared and children placed back in safe familiy homes.My family is involved with DOCS and have has 3 team mangers in the past 6 months.Phone calls are never returned ,staff are always unavailable to keep the family informed,and the 2 hours a week visitation is like being in jail even tho the family is innocent of any thing.Please Minister after this latest loss of life make time and look at how your Dept is operating.And make your staff accountable. |

I can relate to all these posts.
After many contacts with the Queensland executive the answer is the same.The collateral damage is accepted on the grounds more children are being saved than harmed.
DoCS have the power to Act any way they deem fit. A blind eye is always offered to them. Why they have an Act is beyond me as they don't follow it as we all know.
The unfortunate fact is Paedophiles and sexual predators have infiltrated this organization with little trouble. The lack of oversight has made DoCS a breeding ground for the predators.
We beat them in the end but the damage is horrendous.
WE are now deemed collateral damage and DoCS walked away without question from the Executive.
What a sick State Queensland has become ! |

| As far as I'm concerned this whole govt, docs and the courts are hell-bent in destroying these kids of today. They get no protection. Have you noticed that a molester will get less time in prison than a man who raped a grown woman? So docs does the same. Leave abused children in the home and then when they die, blame it on someone else. Or those 2 parents that starved their 18 month old twins. Tey won't get life - no way. They'll be out in less than 10 years for sure. |

| Its a disgrace when our "socialist society" cannot implement so many of the support systems needed for many people in life. The simplest job required that of running an ambulance service is beyond them. We had a new tax to get things right , we are still paying it even though the government has still problems in providing service. The bottom line is the Queenland government is a failure. Peter Beattie reeled from excuse to excuse for years, successfully used the slander tactic instead of policy at the election. Surely we cannot take much more of Mz Bligh and her terrible team. |

Frenchy.. I dont know about QLD...
But this year alone, a male DOCS placement officer was arrested for having 2000+ images of child porn.
He WASNT using it for research.. The sentence given... NOTHING!! He was fired, fined and sent to live with his mummy and daddy in Melbourne and has to go to therapy. |

Logan Central : A 12 year old runs away from home because his Mother is a drugged out b i t c h . He goes from family to Grandparents to another family and finnally end up on the street .What does DOCS do ? Take him back to his Mother who never wanted him in the first place .
My Grandson is no angel in fact he needs a good kick in the pants but you cant do that and he knows it , so he cant live with us , he's no good with foster familys and he hates his mother . True he is a troubled child but DOCS need to come up with a better solution than sending him back to the one he ran away form in the first place . |

We all know that children need to be protected. However many parents do not even get the "chance" to provide for thier children as a result of the actions (or inactions) of the Dept of Child Safety.
Many children are being removed from their parents based solely on false complaints and fabricated evidence. As a grandparent, I have seen this happen to my own and as a friend I have witnessed the same unjust treatment to many other good parents by an uncaring vexatious Dept of Child Safety.
It seems that when the Dept of Child Safety is clearly shown to have used "flawed evidence", instead of reversing wrongful decisions -- the Dept. turns into an even worse monster and refuses to act according to their legislated "duty of care".
In view of the above, it is my belief that all of us are not bad parents as alleged by this monster of a "Department". For those good families who have been victims of this injustice, I suggest we begin to stand as "ONE" and form an Association with the objectives of launching multiple class actions against the Department of Child Safety until justice is won.

Social Workers should not have these powers which by the way, is far greater than what the police hold. Police have to be accountable yet ideologically bent social workers have been caught out time and time again, making up stories to get children while ignoring children who are truly abused.
Only the police should have these powers and nobody else. |

| Just a update on the 11th sept my grandchildren will be placed under a 1 year order by a court and are going to live with a self confessed drug user she only has to show 1 clear drug test.We cant have the children due to cross border issues. They will be going back to the same situation where the youngest was abused |

| biuncool I agree there is some good ones but they are transfered out if the go against their dept heads. But how would like having your life in limbo for 8 months so far and today yet again a further court remand.If you are a tax payer you are going to be paying for these little boys upkeep when there is family willing and able to look after them but cant because they live 1 klm. across the qld border. |

| I don't think they get transferred out, most of them find the work heart breaking and too tough to handle. The decision they make are constantly pulled apart and critised. I don't work in DoCS but I do work in a government department which gets a lot of staff from DoCS because they can't handle the politics and lack of support. |

| I have just discovered this site, after trying to find imformation about any individual successful claims against the department of child safey, i am currently doing a civil claim myself, and the department has admitted liability, i am now awaiting litigation to commence in the next couple of months. i suffered abuse in foster care under the care of the then department of children services. |

Wouldn't that be a State Labor Policy issue that the Doc's Dept are working under.
Don't they have to follow the State Govts already made policies.
