hi all
what can you tell me about Mt Isa apart from it being inland & hot,
my nephew & his Mrs are moving there at the end of the month
he's a wiz with airconditioning, is it a good place ?
how many people live there ?
all the usual questions, they dont have kids yet but hpe to save while there so they can try for a family in a couple of years

I was there along time ago. Would never go back. Personally I reckon the whole place is a toxic nightmare. Although they have put filters on the stacks since I was there apparently.
They use air coolers out there - different to air conditioners, more suitable to the climate.
Its a reasonable sized town - its like living on an island its isolated from everywhere else. |

mining town in western queensland...
No good for bringing up children there, as there is a lot of lead contamination and mining.
Try and find a company that will do fly in fly out from Townsville or Cairns is probably smarter than trying to live there. |

nessa, we have spoken in coffee lounge i think , again thankyou for your opinion, i think they have been attracted by the promise of double the pay they are on at the mo, they're gonna rent out the house they are buying down here, save some money & be looking at starting a family in a few years when they get back

| The double pay gets eaten up by the high cost of living. It might pay them to get on the net and google rent prices over there. |
