| Dont care if lunatics are caught (66% still drive after suspension anyway) but the cost to catch all these might be better spent on actually stopping crime e.g murderers, gangs,illegal drug pushers,car thieves,house breakers, etc. Maybe there is no money in those! |

| Obviously you have never lost a loved one to a speeding or drink driver because as if you had, your attitude would certainly be different. Breaking the law in any shape or form is a crime. QLD tranport actually allocate ex amount of hours (that they pay for) to the Police to go out and target traffic offences. The reason? Because everyone is sick of the carnage on the roads. |

| yeah and the quota that the sargent gives, im sick to death of speeding being the supposive culprit on every accedent, has anyone forgot the "sitistics cleay say two thirds of fatal accedents are caused by fatigue and drink driving" why is there not a RBT hiddin behind the bushes along the bruce?? when was the last time anyone got pulled up for fatigue checks?? but how many speed Cameras (eg. Revenue Raisers) do you see? |

When i went to Nz last yr they had check points randomly on any street anytime day or night. Whatever car went past had to stop and they were checked.
Lol there was one time when this car wanted to race us and they didnt know there was an unmarked police car up ahead and when he sped past he got pulled over. |

| yes maybe because there are 17 million cars registed in australia (how many on the road at any one time im unsure of), so of course there are more deaths on the road than lets say murders. but it still does not justify $440 million in revenue in australia when the pollies can only account for about 130 million of the raised revenue that supposibly went to road improvement and safety. |

let me assure you the police don't see any of it, it goes to the QLD government.
ask yourself this, why would police revenue raise for an organization & government that pays them peanuts?
the following is not aimed at anyone, its a general statement.
yes the police will hide to catch you, because you generally don't break the law in front of police. does anyone know what integrity is???

and i only feel i have to add to this today, because i just happened to come by a crash this afternoon with a red P plater been pulled from a car that had been involved in an accident with a truck and another car.

| So what if the cops had what you call a "good weekend" Speeding kills and it usually ends up killing the innocent bystander or the passanger . Speeding is just plain ignorant and there are those out ther who will never learn .Go for it cops book the speeders . D'you reckon if yoiu copped a fine of $1000 for speeding it would deter speeders ? |

| ah we have the ego on here, getting a bit lonely out here. yes i do race (at willowbank every weekend) and have a nice car. speed is reletive the faster you go the more damage you do BUT the quicker you get there so yes 50k zones around ALL built up areas should be enfored greatly and i totally agree however what i am annoyed at is you never see a cop hanging around the areas that are needed they always are sitting on the safest 4 lane highway, hiding in bushes and behind trees picking up dads and mums doing 10k over the limit and yet there is no justification for it. yes p platers do have accedents and so do a lot of other people like i have said in my previous post, two thirds of FATAL car accedents are cause by DRINK DRIVING AND FATIGUE, so for safetys sake get off the revenue raising high horse and book people for drink driving and fatigue maybe then we will see some lives saved. and yes the police get bugger all of that revenue (nice new Pursuit cars every now and then) but the pollies get plenty. |
