POLICE were last night trying to identify the body of a man found in a Territory river yesterday.
He was the second man found dead in the Top End yesterday after a man was stabbed at Borroloola.
Major Crimes unit detectives were alerted to the death of a Caucasian male in his 40s when his body was found in the Katherine River.
The man was wearing blue shorts, a light coloured polo shirt, black socks and white running shoes when his body was discovered close to the town.
Anyone with information is asked to phone police on 131444 or go to Katherine Police Station.
In Borroloola, a 23-year-old man was stabbed to death at 3am yesterday. A 22-year-old woman was in police custody last night assisting with inquiries.
Both deaths are being investigated and crime scenes have been set up |
