""Perhaps he likes it if Aboriginal people are suffering so that he can look like he is a champion of his people while he sits in Canberra mouthing off and living like a white fella?""
He's not the only one.
Back in the old days when I first came up here, many Aboriginals worked on stations. They didn't get a lot in the way of wages because the station fed ALL their family as well. However they worked and they learned it from their fathers.
Sometimes people who wouldn't work, or were trouble makers, were bushed, sent off the station.
The thing is, they were forced to work and therefore had a work ethic.
Since these half smart part Aboriginals came on the scene, it has all been 'self determination', as if these people will just continue working etc as they did back when white people made them.
Well they now don't work, simply because they don't have to, they are paid to sit on their backsides.
As soon as they included Aboriginals/part Aboriginals in the plan, it all went screwy, and has stayed that way ever since.
Pinky wants it to stay that way, that way he can be seen as a saviour, while mouthing off about white people as if its their fault that they now live the way they do. |

LOST in the Federal Court decision their objection to the 40 year leases deal which was required as part of the $120+ million Alice Springs town camp housing improvements.
Expect another appeal so as to further delay these urgently needed improvements... further delay chance for residents to obtain reasonable, fair and equitable leases with usual rights and responsibilities experienced by other tenants around Australia - which is what provides decent living conditions.
So they oppose decent living conditions.
They still refusing to spend their own money to improve their own houses, expecting taxpayers from wider community to pay for their wants whilst they not prepared to make the effort...
Indeed they object to fellow community members having the security to improve things for themeselves....
They responsible for creation of living conditions seen in movie: Samson & Delilah...

Alice town campers lose bid against takeover
http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/11/26/2754 169.htm
Alice Springs town camp residents have lost their case against a Federal Government plan to impose new lease agreements on their land.
About 3000 people live in town camps on the outskirts of Alice Springs.
The Government said it would compulsorily acquire the town camp land if residents did not sign new 40-year leases in exchange for the promise of housing upgrades.
Lawyers for the residents argued the land is owned by Aboriginal people and the Government should not be able to alienate their interest in the land.
But a Federal Court judge has rejected the case against the lease plan, although he has granted a temporary stay against the court's orders to allow for the consideration of an appeal.
Lawyers representing the resident who brought the case to court, Barbara Shaw, are considering appealing the decision and have one week to decide whether they will take further action.
One of her lawyers, Ben Schokman, says he is disappointed with the result but the process has still exposed the Government's failings.
"There have been to date and continue to be real concerns about the adequacy and effectiveness of consultation with the town camp residents," he said.
"And there've been concerns about that certainly for the previous 12 to 18 months and I think the interesting question will be what the Federal Government's response will be and whether or not that approach will change going forward."
A spokeswoman for the Federal Minister for Indigenous Affairs, Jenny Macklin, says the Government is still considering the judgement. |

My email to Mick the other day;
By you;
"Why in 2009 - we're almost in 2010 - do we say it's OK for the Government to be racially discriminatory against a bunch of people - Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory - who happen to discriminated against because of where they live and the fact that they're all Aboriginal?"
You are a joke up here Mick. You have no idea. Stick to what you best, bullshitting to southerners about Aboriginals in the NT. I doubt you would know an Aboriginal even if you fell over one.
People like you are the worst thing to ever happen to fullbloods up here.
Aussie of the year, what a bloody sick joke. You are just a token, and a bloody ignorant one at that.

Good on you Dallone for emailing pinky. I wouldn't expect he'd take any notice though. Good to see he can find time for a holiday in South Africa (well, I doubt he's over there working).
Good form isn't it? Mouth off but say nothing then shoot through on a holiday while his poor bugger mates are suffering. So nice to see he really cares. |

About 550 people contributed to the Larrakia Nation Aboriginal Corporation report:
The report also found many homeless Aboriginal people in Darwin are escaping violence and inter-generational conflict sparked by drugs.
It quotes one participant as saying, "in my community, they always fight. They kill each other... that's why I moved away, fighting between families".
The report says several participants also left because of drug abuse in the younger generation.
The participants say younger family members in their community demand money for marijuana.
The report says many felt intimidated and threatened by the demands and it was another reason for leaving.

Oh oh, someone has been fondling the mummy button again.
Guess he didn't like me pointing out his numerous mistakes when he's swapping between ID's.
Or me reminding him that the only jealousy here is his, towards me. But I can live with that, after all he makes it so obvious so often.
The other day, again, he reckons I was never a stockman because I won't tell him which stations I worked on.
He doesn't seem to comprehend that he is in the poo simply because of giving out too much information here, and elsewhere.
Crikey, I'm the first to admit to having very little knowledge about computers and the 'net, yet I know enough not to go around spilling all my personal information. And he claims to be something of an expert. |
