I started this thread because some here constantly blame white people for the drugs and grog which go into communities, when clearly that is not the case.

Drug and alcohol seizure - Oenpelli

Between the hours of 2:00 am and 4:00 am this morning police made a number of arrests in relation to drugs and alcohol located in vehicles in and around the Oenpelli and Jabiru area.

Oenpelli members conducted breath tests and vehicle searches on a number of cars travelling along Oenpelli Road at Cahills Crossing and in total, located:

23 bottles of spirits
46 cans of beer
10 litres of cask wine
10 bags of cannabis (14 grams)

As a result three males aged 30, 36 and 44 were arrested for offences including drive under the influence of intoxicating liquor and bring liquor into a prescribed area.

Four people also received Summary Infringement Notices and three vehicles were seized.

Territory Duty Superintendent John Emeny said that these offenders will think twice before attempting this sort of behaviour again.

“Oenpelli members worked very hard to put these offenders behind bars and to get this alcohol off the streets.

“Transporting liquor into a prescribed area is something that we will not tolerate and we will continue to target these offenders” he said.

Agree part of the problem is who brings the drugs to the community.

Pre Teen drug abuse is now a mainstream problem, so communities can expect more support.

Large part of the solution is dependent upon what happens to people with the drug usage and/or addiction habits.

Need creative sentencing and bail terms, with support and encouragement from higher courts and the legislature.

First participation in some of these approaches need NOT be an admission of guilt, else participation will NOT occur until guilt is established.

Particularly for first timers, when bailed first time likely far more responsive to such programs - as long as NOT an admission of guilt.

Many if not majority of people caught bringing drugs to the communities already known to police.

People apprehended for drug and alcohol influenced offences need long term behavior monitoring orders to achieve changed behavior or we are wasting a lot of time, money, and effort.

People with drug/alcohol issues often NOT need be locked up, yet need ongoing monitoring and treatment to confirm staying away from their problem drug/alcohol products.

Regular testing as a bail/parole term, even in remote communities most testing can be regularly carried out.

Bail/parole terms may include phoning in to report regularly.

Can this extend to confidential telephone counseling sessions as a NO admission, part of the bail agreement.

Hidden drugs sniffed out

October 26th, 2009

A STACK of drugs - some hidden in the back of a mobile phone and another stuffed inside a baby tissue dispenser - has been seized during a police blitz in a remote Territory community.

Police with their sniffer dog counterparts conducted roadblocks east of Maningrida, about 400km east of Darwin, as well as searched baggage at the airport over the weekend.

Eight people in a four-wheel-drive were among the first to be nabbed by police after three occupants - a woman and two men - were found with marijuana on them about 3am on Friday.

The next day, the police drug detector dog sniffed out cannabis hidden in the back of a 17-year-old boy's mobile phone.

A 16-year-old girl was also found with about 82g of hash stuffed in a baby wipes dispenser.

Black belt tourist 'karate chops' robbers
By Eric Tlozek
ABC News
http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/10/26/2724 182.htm?site=news

Police in Alice Springs say would-be robbers picked the wrong victim to accost at the weekend.

A 20-year-old German woman was one of a group of tourists attacked by several people on the Wills Terrace footbridge on Saturday evening.

But Superintendent Sean Parnell told 783 ABC Alice Springs the woman was a black belt in karate.

"The victim there managed to punch one of the offenders three times in the face with a karate chop," he said.

"And they then attempted to run away and these baddies chased them and she's swung around and given them a kick to the side of the head and a couple more karate chops and they've run away."

He says she may have injured at least one of the attackers while fighting off the assault.

"We believe that, given the force she's [ ] hit him with, that he may have some injuries," he said.

"Be careful who you pick."

If you know so much about drug trafficking into aboriginal communities report them to the police, or would that might be dobbing yourself in.

Tell me how you know, do you have inside information?
And if you do know and don't report it to the authorities then you are just as bad as the drug bosses in the territory who rip off aboriginal communities.

Ropes, you have stated many times here that you only smoke dope now, and do not drink alcohol anymore.

Ask yourself how you manage to do that.

And as some of my posts here have clearly shown, it is usually not white people who are taking drugs into communities. Of course there are exceptions to every rule.

Would a persecution complex explain why you think that anybody who disagree's with your posts and opinions is out to get you?

Would anyone here agree that you are the alpha male of these boards, I don't think so.

Anyway getting back to the topic you seem to have first-hand knowledge of how and by whom drugs get into aboriginal communities.

I would like you to explain in detail the drug business and who grows it, who makes the big dollars by ripping off aboriginal communities and why the police harass the users of cannabis rather than the drug bosses.
