under the smokescreen(excuse the pun)of healthy living the government has raised the price of cigarettes. do they really expect us to believe that they are more concerned about our health rather than the extra tax they collect.
it's a joke, tobacco and alcohol companies run this country while the puppet government dance to their tune. |

Hi Steve.
Perhaps the Govt will use the extra revenue raised to address the health issues associated with smoking? In any case, making the smokes more expensive may help make them more unattractive, especially to those thinking of taking it up. It is better to try to do something about the problem than just leaving things the way they are. I'm glad the price is going up and I hope it continues to do so. I don't have any sympathy for smokers. It is a stupid habit and anyone who smokes is a loser anyway. |

| i don't consider myself a loser because i smoke, i could say that i'm an addict who was hooked on smoking at an early age and have been battling against it ever since. tobacco companies are the foundation of the addiction and the government is the dealer who takes advantage of all smokers and gleefully rake in the dollars while people die of the effects of this deadly habit. i would back the decision to ban tobacco products completly. |
