Strangely enough Szling' so did I.
I think there may be some trouble in the camp, down at Ropes place. He doesn't sound like a happy chappy.
Of course he might say the same of me. |

Now for a start son, how about you start using English, and if you can't spell ask someone, or better still, use one of the FREE bloody spell checkers available.
And Pol nearly always goes to the trouble of providing his source, and while a lot of my information is first hand and therefore there is no source to look up, a quick Google of the other bits would satisfy anyone with just a modicum of 'puter knowledge, something you claim to be an expert in. |

now for a start, if you paid more attention to the truth and posted unbiased opinions instead of pandering to your ego people might take you seriuosly, but i doubt it because you have a reputation as a racist fool not just on these boards but in the national media ,remember Media Watch and the quote "he is alone in his views and ranges all over the place"
it's time you woke up to the fact that you're considered a joke whose opinions are those of a cranky old man who has nothing left but to sit around a blame a minority group to compensate for your own indiscretions. |

Below is the whole story Ropes constantly harps on about from Media Watch. I have cut and pasted it.
"Poor Behaviour Condoned
One of things I hate most is when foreigners come to our shores, proclaim they want to become Australians and then spit on our conventions and way of life. Of course I refer to the Minister in the NT government who reportedly refused to toast the Queen recently
— NT News Letters Page, pg 13, 31st May 2005"
Sorry but we just can't believe the author really was:
""The Lone Ranger", Darwin.
— NT News Letters Page, pg 13, 31st May 2005"
~~~
Ropes adds;
"",remember Media Watch and the quote "he is alone in his views and ranges all over the place""
which was a single letter to the editor in the NT NEWS one day. The Lone Ranger has had hundreds of letters to the editor published, presumably because the editor sees them as relevant to today's issues. Naturally, occasionally someone will take offence at something he says and make a reply, as is everyone's right. But that's just the cut and thrust of being published.
On that note it should be pointed out that our own, Ropes, has sent many letters, by his own admission, to the NT NEWS, however never gets them published because of his constant racist theme and his misunderstanding of life in the NT. |
opinions are generally from a point of view which in itself has a leaning toward personal favouritisms.
opinions arew all valid and opinions are all valid and generally the more biased they are the more colourful a life we have....
and as Dirty Harry would tell youse all..."opinions are like @r5eholes, everyone has one." |
if YOU are capable of unbiased opinions yourself then state them here. if you are just another one of the sheep that follow others opinions such as the lone ranger then your words count as nothing.
ignorance is the mother of racism |
Yes. I felt Ropes use of "posted unbiased opinions " was a silly thing to say.
The opposite of unbiased is biased, which points to someone having their own opinion, which perhaps has been determined by their own experiences, or the published experiences of others.
Unbiased therefore would suggest that the writer has no opinion of their own, and furthermore has not had any experiences of the subject to form an opinion of any value, nor read enough of the subject to form one.
But I generally agree with 'Harry. |
wow ropa, that is something i agree with...not only that but he was a thief as well and a murderer.
same goes with that sheep stealing waltzing matilda fellow...isn't it typical that such a society would want either one to be its national anthem...
nothing like the backbone of english society who constantly fought one william wilburforce and continued in their slave trading...
I dare say all nations have the like in their history too, and a section revels in it...
By Ropes, desperate to find some violence in white society to try and hide that violence is endemic in Ab society, and always has been.
Ropes gives the names of Aussie bushrangers, as if they acted the same as everyday Australians. Get real son. The following from The Australian, but is everywhere.
Despite considerable evidence that pre-contact Aboriginal Australia had high levels of violence, and that traditional norms concerning violence still operate, policy distortion continues because of a resistance to consider traditional norms of violence.
Even among intellectuals such as Joan Kimm and Louis Nowra, who have bravely pointed to pre-contact origins of today's high rate of Aboriginal violence, evoking the policy implications is resisted.
To secure a less violent, more positive future for Aborigines, today's restrictive conditions on inquiry and policy need to end.
The particularly high level of violence against women in pre-contact Aboriginal Australia can no longer be denied. First-contact explorers and colonists noted with distress the terrible scars and bruises that marked the women due to the frequent brutality of their menfolk.
Stephen Webb's palaeopathology studies of cranial and post-cranial remains verify that before European arrival, violence against Aboriginal women was prevalent across the mainland continent, with women suffering significantly more cranial injuries than men.
The level of Aboriginal violence particularly against women remains shocking. In 2004-05 across four states where records were kept, "indigenous females were 44.1 times more likely to be hospitalised for assault than non-Indigenous females". |
From the Editorial in todays NT NEWS. Concerning why AB children are dying at a rate comparable with the world's poorest countries.
'Of course Ab people are not poverty stricken-in real terms, they get far more in welfare money than people in 3rd world countries could comprehend.
They become poor by spending their money on alcohol, cannabis, gambling, and expensive takeaway food.
This sounds harsh, it sounds like blaming the victim. But it is not, as anybody who has worked in an indigenous community would know.
And, again, malnutrition is caused not by a lack of money to spend on food, but by parents neglecting their children.
Etc, etc re health.
Governments need to concentrate also on educating indigenous people.
Hopefully the Federal government has the courage and fortitude to continue the intervention. For how long? For as long as it takes.
~~
But not Ropes, he doesn't know about these things.
Must live in a different community, aye. |
