| There is a film on youtube called The Great Yowie Expedition. (http://www.youtube.com/w atch?v=J73aX-L0d-Q) Is this real? I have never heard of a yowie. I have heard of that big cat. Is this the same sort of thing? |

Yes a yowie is a sort of bunyip, we don`t get all that many yowies around here because I drink gin.
We get gully jumper bunyips tho & they`re a bloody pest - one landed on me the other night & flattened me, - spilled my drink too.
They get Yowie nuts over Quilpie way tho - the Quilpie yowies have a famous soprano choir. |

| i don't know about the yowie but i'm 100% certain about the black panthers that are running around in the outskirts of sydney. a theory i've heard is that american bomber crews stationed at nirimba air base had them as mascots and simply let them go at the end of the war. They've been sighted by many people. now that's something the camper should be worried about. |

Where was Nirimba?
As far as I'm aware, there were no USAF bomber (or fighter) units stationed anywhere in NSW during WW2. |

The Yowie is kind of like Australia's Answer to bigfoot.
There's a Yowie statue in Kilcoy (where the beast is rumoured to roam), however people keep stealing its dick.
What anyone would want with a Yowie statue dong is beyond me. Maybe they lost their rolling pin? |

| The big cat's in Penrith i think came from the safari zoo where they were able to wonder free and people drove past them in cars. But several animal's kept escaping that's why the owner had to close it down |

The Yowie is a myth and/or legend.
Anyone know the difference between a myth and legend?
I read somewhere that one could possibly be true and one is made up, I just don't remember which. |

you may laugh lady but it's true. The american soliders brought them out here as mascots during WW2 and let'em loose when the war finished. They get sighted all the time. A cop even saw one. Imagine a cat running aound that's as big as a great dane. |
