Jervis Bay Marine Parks Reply to this message
The Marine Parks are going overboard, much like the NationalParks, they don't want any of us going anywhere in the bush if they could, now they are putting bans on where we can anchor and where we can't.
I would love to be leagally allowed to anchor a small 12 ft, tinnei at the NE corner of jervis bay, in summer when the NE winds are at their strongest, this is the safest plese for me to take little children for a good day out in the boat.
I have emailed, and downloaded "Forms" filled them in and posted them, only to recieve a "PostCard" telling me absolutely nothing !

Lets bao back in time when we could fish and go anywhere in our boats, things still worked !!!

Hope you enjoy the area at Xmas ! Good to hear.

========================= ===============

if you want to go back then you have to aske for less population as thats why laws come into effect..
it was probably allowed before because there were not many people in that area and boats.
with population growth and I also live in that area Crow up in Huskission)to know of its growth then you need laws that applies to all people not just some...

I know exactly where you mean mate. It`s a protected area. The greenies are worried that you might damge the sea grass in that location.

If thats the case then I say the council should put in a few public moorings so that we can tie off to and have a fish. After all, that`s what Jervis Bay is all about!

If they wont let us anchore their, well then they should give us 3 or 4 public moorings!

Thanks for you back up support, I have even emailed and downloaded a print form, filled it in and posted it, only to receive a post card, stating absolutely nothing ! and they don't even answer my emails, (IGNORANT SODS)
I claim we could anchor between the sea grass and the high water mark without doing any damage to the sea grass !

Haven't been there for many years but if I remember correctly it's one of the most beautiful areas in the country. Good luck with your fight ?

Same applies on the southern shore of the bay, from Murrays beach to Creswell and around Bowen Island.
Unfortunately the only way is to beach the craft.
I have a place down there and boat which I take out regularly and I can say that I have not dropped anchor for over 2 years, true.
As for fishing well Jervis bay is not what it used to be, but an interesting thing is the abundance of fish in the sanctuary zones, take a look at some youtube videos posted by divers. Maybe its not a bad thing for the future of the bay.
The NorEasters are pretty uncomfortable during the holiday season I know, but maybe try taking the family over to Caves beach on those bad days its a lovely place.

Re:Jervis Bay Marine Parks Reply to this message
Most fishermen are not even lucky enough to own a boat. They just have to cast off the rocks or beach. Just having a boat means you are way better off. You shouldn't be whingeing about a few puny restrictions.

Anyway, a healthy undisturbed benthic community = more fish around for you to catch. Der.

Re:Jervis Bay Marine Parks Reply to this message
Wrong Buzz. We can fish further out in the windier conditions. The amount of fish caught is no different. We`d like to be able to get out of the wind and fish out of the noreaster in the boats.

Re:Jervis Bay Marine Parks Reply to this message
There is a gap of about 50 meters between the sea Grass, and the sand, giving plenty of clear anchorage without disturbing any of their "Presrious Sea Grass"

Re:Jervis Bay Marine Parks Reply to this message
I emailed the MPA, asking this,(Public Moorings) I also contacted my local State MP, with no luck all ways.
The MPA, only sent me an unmarked Post Card, what a useless effort on their behalf !

I APPRECIATE MESSAGE BOARD, GIVING ME THE CHANCE TO EXPRESS MY FEELINGS.

My Reply,
I don't want to go fishing in this area, I only want to have family picnics in this very sheltered beach, during the Summer time North Easter Wind Period, I claim it would do no damage to Sea Grass as this Sea Grass only grows some metres from the low tide mark.
The Marine Parks seem to want us to not even go there, as I see it.

Sounds like an ideal placed for the developer fraternity to build a few thousand little concrete boxes so all the nice peaceful islamic migrants can have a place with a view. They could probably even throw a line in from their front verandah too.

I take it that developers don't contribute heavily to political parties in that part of the world ??

Without greenie fanatics, there would be no national parks, 'developers' would happily bulldoze every tree on the planet and concrete all exposed ground
