Current Weather Situation and Future Developments
A high pressure system centred near Tasmania extends a broad ridge across the
ACT and has maintained fine conditions today. A weak trough will develop over
southeastern NSW on Thursday and Friday as the high moves into the Tasman Sea,
possibly causing enough instability to trigger some shower activity over the
ranges to the south and east but Canberra should remain fine. Another ridge of
high pressure will bring fine and warm weather through the weekend and into next
week.

Forecast for Wednesday evening
Fine. Light northeast to northwest winds, turning moderate easterly during this
evening.

Chance of rainfall: 5%.
Winds on Lake: Northeast to northwest 10 to 15 km/h, turning easterly 15-25
km/h during this evening.

Fine apart from the chance of some isolated showers over the ranges during the
afternoon. Light southeasterly winds early, tending light to moderate west to
northwesterly during the day ahead of a late southeasterly change.
