Okay I'm going to have a bit of a moan now. I like Sunrise I think it's a pretty good show I'm a card carrying member of the family but lately it's getting on my boobs!
Firstly the short news breaks don't give enough info and are anoying, the guy in the chopper is a complete waste of time cause if your in the traffic how's he going to tell you anything????
Secondly they seem to rush through the issues and give little time to some very big news worthy stories(plenty of time for pointless banter between eachother though)Too much celeb stuff as well.
They say email in your thoughts but most of the time it's pointless cause they never read them out. They have pointless segments and waffle on about rubbish yet they make a big noise about how great a job kotchie did in getting things to the prime ministers ear Even when he doesn't really have any impact ie solar power. Yes the organ donation was great but that's a ploy by pollies to gain votes.
I like the presenters although I think they take their celeb status a little to serious (they just read auto cues and rabbit on) The show seems to be undecided on what it wants to be any a times a little chaotic.
Like I said I like the show but it needs to organize itself better. Hope they don't take this off the board! |

I agree with you too!!
If you like all the celeb stuff plus less than 2 mins of news and a HUGE emphesis on sport and other useless info,then Sunrise is for you.
My personal thing is to hear news in depth from overnight and in real time that gives me time to take it in.
With Sunrise you blink and you miss the news and then it goes into sport,great,if you`re a guy,but us girls like to hear news.
They really need to lift their game as I feel,as you do,that more people willstart to tune out and watch Today. |

| Organ donation is a huge topic - I live in the Southern Highlands and Bowral Hospital has no facilities for organ donation or harvesting, and was told probably the same over most of Australia. Need a real doctor to clarify please? |

I'm soooo over the olympics already.
They were saying the other day that there is going to be a 17 hour daily coverage of the Olympic Games, God how boring !!. I dont know why they think everyone is so interested. Talk about overkill. |

I'm with you rmharris4, i think Sunrise is on a bit of a downhill slide. The news has seemed to have been cut shorter and the sport blabs on.
Mel & Kochie also cut off alot of people without there being any real discussion. I would rather they concentrated on the real issues for longer, than try and squeeze as much in as possible.
I love the 'all stars' section where two people have a debate/discussion about the days news. I wish that went for longer!
I hate the 'Coming up on the morning show' section. Most of the people watching Sunrise are off to work once its finished and those that arn't will probably watch the morning show without needing an update on whats coming up.
I hate the new weather format too, its a waste of time, i really don't care about the weather in the other states. They should just do local weather like they do the local news section. It was okay when Grant & Monique did the weather becuase there was always other news or events that came with it, now its just the boring weather...Woooo!
Bottom line they should have less but longer segments... |

I used to love sunrise, then some comedy show did a quirky segment where they imitated Mel and Koshy to a tee. Ever since then, I cannot stand Mel and her constant scrunching of the nose, smile and nod at koshie, and it highlighted how really dumb most of her comments are. She is Koshies sidekick, and I think since a few magazines ran some articles on her 'super mum' status last year, her ego has gotten the better of her. Kick her off and put Nat in her place.
Also, what the heck is going on with the Today Show... co-host Lisa is just as ridiculous and unlikable... her comments to some of the interviewees border on insulting and belittling. Replace Lisa with the lovely bubbly blonde news reader (who's name escapes me at present).
Thats all. Phew! |

Pumped up egos talking small talk and making a squillion dollars because people are silly enough to watch them.
Every half hour you get about a minute of proper news and then its back to their drivel and adds. |

Yes well as their alter egos perhaps but Roy (John Doyle) used to have a program a number of years ago on AM radio 2BL and it was fantasic. No crudeness great interveiws and his wit making it very entertaining. I think now that James Valentine has tried to immitate or at least follow the same theme. Always was curious to compare one hour of John Doyles show to one hour of John Laws (taken a random) and count the self references (I, ME, MY etc) Because Laws and his ego made them continuously while John Doyle as himself (not Roy as he plays an egotistical persona) never or hardly made any. |

Even the people they bring in like Sam Armytage and Sharon bird are so false I new someone who said hello to armytage and doyle and they totaly ignored them.
How would you know? Get over yourself you don't know these people they seem very genuine to me! I think you need to leave the bitterness out of your life. As for ignoring your friend I very much doubt it, in fact I've talked to people who have met both and told me that both Sam and Mel have gone out of their way for them. So take some advice Trickywoo4 go stick your head down the toilet and flush your brains out if you got one! might clear your mind a bit! |
