Re:Chrisco Christmas Hampers Reply to this message
hey everyone,

i worked for Chriscos last year, for the bonus hamper in the Sydney warehouse alone we packed over 50000 hampers. and that number grows and grows each year, there are millions of chrisco and castle hamper customers across Australia, Canada and new Zealand.
they do the best job they can and I'm sure if you were trying to manage a company like them and distributing that many hampers of course there would be a a few people that would have a few problems, and i'm sure i would be angry also if that happened to me. but there in any company will be a few people that will have problems.

Chriscos is a great company and they always try to do whatever they can to please the customer.

i noticed a few people saying save up yourself, but not all people have the self control to do that, chriscos is great for a lot of people and helps them manage through the year to get to Christmas and still have enough money like they would any other time of the year. Chriscos helps familys have a good christmas and not worry so much about what our credit card bills are going to look like in the new year.

and im sure if you owned a multi-million dollar company that you want a nice house and nice cars. the owners of Chriscos and castle are the most genuine and loverly people. of course there are always people that have problems with major and minor companies but any company does the best and try the hardest they can to please the customer especially at this time of the year and the employees work so hard to get everything possible done before Christmas.

you work for the company - well ja21543 - a lot of people out there need more than your poor excuse as to why YOUR employer can't supply what they promised and people have PAID for.

Re:Chrisco Christmas Hampers Reply to this message
I just watched ACA and they ran a story about hundreds of chrisco and castle hampers dumped at Blayney tip!!
They were meant to be delivered but were dumped instead!!

This is an appauling waste of food at this time of year.Instead of delivering they found it easier to dump the food and just give a refund!
DISGUSTING!!

Re:Chrisco Christmas Hampers Reply to this message
Why would a company intentionally dump thousands of dollars worth of stock??? I highly doubt the company just decided one day to refund everyone and because of this decided they had to stash all the undelivered boxes somewhere. It doesn't make sense and seeing as though chrisco nor castle hampers have their own fleet of trucks/transport, surely one must look at the courier companies that are being used and making decisions like these. I mean if they don't follow instructions to deliver on a desired day.. then obviously they feel they can do what they want with hampers they didn't deliver. How quick are people to just follow whatever story they hear and not wait for any explanation? Doesn't make sense to me. I'd suggest the companies have a good look at couriers that can deliver what is expected of them and suppliers that can get stock to the packing places when they are needed. Btw when you see Elvis working at subway in Rockhampton..tell him I said Hi

If anyone one actually watched you would have noticed that the food was dumped because the couriers stuffed up and the stock fell below a safe temperature.

If not then you would be winging about food poisioning.

By the way, I live in Rockhampton and I will tell Elvis you said hi! Which Subway? There are 3 of them.....

Re:Chrisco Christmas Hampers Reply to this message
Thank you caesar for clearing my point up. Because a portion of people are upset about non delivery and having to get a refund(which is unfortunate and I'm sure incovenient), it's now almost like there is a smear campaign everything hamper related. People are so quick on these boards to make up their mind based on half told truths by the media. Heaven forbid someone yells witch. All the hamper companies stuffed up to various degrees this year, which is a pain for everyone from customers, their families, to I'm sure the staff at whichever company you have a gripe with. Man it's xmas, perhaps we should just forgive once the issue has been sorted and move on ya know. No-one is forcing anyone to deal with these companies again. I know these boards are for opinions, but as caesar clearly put it...it's more like whining now and not creatively. Important things are happening in the world and I'm getting a little distressed at seeing things like hamper problems being put on headlines surpassing the real issues of the world and human race

Re:Chrisco Christmas Hampers Reply to this message
I had trouble before all the reports came out on the media. It was a staff member from chrisco who cancelled part of my order and transfered money to my next years account WITHOUT my permission.I rang for 2 weeks trying to get an explanation as to why this happened and was told they had no idea.I was constantly told someone would ring me back.No one ever did ring.Eventually I got an explanation from chrisco. They told me that my hampers had mysteriously disappeared from the depot. They presumed it was stolen. It took 2 weeks for them to tell me this and by that time I was very angry. They could have explained this to me when I first rang but lied and made excuses to me.The depot is only 30 minutes from my home and I had offered to go and pick my hampers up over the 2 weeks but was always given another excuse. To me chrisco has defrauded a lot of people.I was lucky and I got my refund back within 3 weeks of my first phone call. All I want now from the company is an apology. The delivery company was not to blame for loss of my hampers. They went out of their way when I first had trouble to have my hampers delivered to me.The driver even used his own phone to ring his boss to sort all this out as my hampers were on his truck but because of the chrisco stuff up he wasnt able to give them to me without lossing his job.Now I wonder who is eating my hampers for christmas. And by the way I had confirmed that my orders would be delivered the week before they were due and all was fine then.

Re:Chrisco Christmas Hampers Reply to this message
If anyone has seen ACA tonight then you would know about Chrisco selling the excess stuff cheaply to their staff, family and friends and not to the general public.

I personally feel insulted by the way with chrisco has been acting especially as there are many families out their that cannot afford to give christmas presents to their kids is downright insulting. A few days ago the CEO of chrisco said many of the hampers going to charity and now this has been proven not to be the case.

One thing is for sure they are going to lose many customers over this year's fiasco. Especially as they do not have the foresight to ensure frozen hampers are delivered in a fridgerated truck and not with companies that do have the capabilities to deliver frozen food properly.

Re:Chrisco Christmas Hampers Reply to this message
have decided to buy a $10 voucher each f/nght from my local supermarket. That way, next Chrissy, I can buy food that I want.
Will be doing the same at Kmart and Target for the g/kids toys

That way if there is a special on - I am sweet.

Re:Chrisco Christmas Hampers Reply to this message
I have been an agent for years, but I will never deal with them again. I put in an order for 2008 (4 hampers) and already it has been halved once, then completely cancelled then I had just one hamper out of 4 and it has just been completely cancelled. The letters said it was due to 'no payments and failure to contact them'. Well I have tried many, many times to ring them and find out what is going on only to be cut off. So I sent them up to four emails and have never recived a reply for one yet. I went to the bank today and discovered not one payment has been missed yet. They cannot understand why Chrisco's hasn't got their money because all payments have gone through fine from their end. One of my customers didn't recieve Chrisco's this year as it was cancelled due to the same problem and she wasn't notified until August. She accepted that she must have missed a payment only to find out resently from the bank she had made all except 2 payments. The money then stopped coming out of her account in August which would have been when Chrisco sent her a letter to cancel the order. According to them she didn't make one payment all year. So where has the money been going!!!! With my order they won't refund me because they claim they don't have it and the bank claims they do. Now I can't seem to get anyone from Chrisco's to answer my questions. My sister has had her money refunded now 2 years in a row because they ran out of stock and didn't have her products. She orders Xmas presents (not food hampers). CHRISCOS CAN GET STUFFED!!! HO! HO! HO!

This happens every year with Crisco, and every year people complain about Crisco.

Simple solution, stop using Crisco, and don’t ever use them again!

Re:Chrisco Christmas Hampers Reply to this message
How sneaky are Chrisco? After ruining many families Christmas's they now inundate the TV with adds for Castle Christmas hampers. Trying to deceive the public into thinking they are a better alternative to Chrisco when they are both owned by the same. I'm still waiting on a refund from Chrisco. Shame, shame, shame on Chrisco and Castle!!

Re:Chrisco Christmas Hampers Reply to this message
as others have already said...everytime you do your weekly/frtnightly shopping...buy a $10 coles/franklins/woolies voucher...that way, when nonperishables that one uses at Chrissy time are on special and you are short on money, you can redeem your vouchers for these items.
I have already started collecting vouchers for 2008 chrissy...that way I know I am going to use what I pay for...dtr got Chriscos twice and either gave away or threw out a lot of the food hamper items as they were of no use to her.

I cancelled my order and got my money back after hearing some bad publicity, then about a week ago I was sent 5 x $10 gift cards to toys 'r' us no letter to say why they sent them, just one to say enjoy these cards to the value of $50. Had to laugh as the nearest store is in Adelaide, as I live in Alice Springs.

I purchased Chrisco hampers in 2006. Most of the food items were weeks if not months out of date.
I put it down to experience and decided not to use then again in 2007.

Re:Chrisco Christmas Hampers Reply to this message
All my items from my order were dated to late 2008/early 2009.

I also received a letter from Chrisco recently where they clarified delays and the negative publicity that the company had - an apology of sorts. From memory the letter claimed that only 3% of deliveries had been affected and that monies were refunded before Xmas. Although you would think it would have been more with the amount of complaints I've seen on here alone... Anyone else get the same letter?

I probably won't be using Chrisco again this year. Not because of the negative publicity, I don't have a bad thing to say about them, but because I can afford not to.

Lord ive got heaps of bad things to say about them , 1st of all ive rung them 4 times already to complain about their idiotic way that they take out the direct debit , i mean why bother asking people what day they want the payments to come out if they dont follow up on these dates to begin with , ive been stung with 4 $45 dishonour fees because lately they have decided to take the money out on a day they wasnt even nominated

i mean how can you confuse wed with sat for gods sake ,

i will be cancelling my order as in my eyes they broke a contract , i stated Sat DD and they ( chrisco in thier infinate wisdom( yeah right ) decide that , tues or wed , before my payday is fine by them

signed Pissed off and angry
