| Personally i believe capital punishment should be re-introduced into australia. If you can prove beyond any doubt that someone has committed a heinous crime they should be put to death. Why in the world should tax payers have to pay for these animals to stay in jail for the rest of their lives??? These freaks maim injure murder torture people of all walks of life and while they get to sit in a cozy little jail cell the poor families of the victims have to live with the grief of knowing what has happened to their loved 1's and then to add insult to injury these same victim's and their families pay taxes which feed and clothe and house these pigs |

so long as it is 100% proven yep dispose of them.
most of them look at it as belonging to an exclusive club.
also something wrong with the goal guard culture as some of them show respect for these animals. |

A perfect example. There was a lot of evidence that even if it was him, he couldn't have acted alone. All of which never made it to trial.
There is no justification for the death penalty. Ever. |

I think you need to watch the news and just see how far we have really progressed,,,,wow if what is going on out there in society today is classed as progression GOD HELP US ALL.
The problem is there are too many DO GOODERS, AND NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE THAT ARE DOING GOOD.....
Lets say ,,, You had a daughter and she was rapped, tortured, murdered and her body dumped,,,,WHAT WHAT WOULD YOU WANT TO SEE HAPPEN TO THE ASS HOLES THAT DID THIS TO HER? I KNOW WHAT I WOULD WANT TO SEE HAPPEN TO THEM,,,,AND A BULLET WOULD BE TOO QUICK.....????????? |

| Let's set things straight.... when you call for capital punishment your main motivation is one of revenge for either a perceived or actual wrong doing. Let's not try and nicen things up and try to justify it by saying it's a more suitable punishment when instead you're simply trying to sate a primeval blood lust. |

| No i am not saying that and please dont put words into my mouth i never said if i perceived their guilt i said if their guilt was proven without any DOUBT. I begrudege my taxes going to pay for these pigs to breathe when they have taken the right of someone else drawing breathe away from them. The thing is ogg until you have a family member become a victim of a heinous crime i really dont think you would know how you would react till it happened |

| In perthin 1993 i knew a famly that lived in greenough karen and her 3 kids a boy and 2 little girls. This pig named william mitchell went to her home and killed her and her 3 children but oh no he wasnt happy to just murder them he had to have some fun with karen and the girls and tha animal got life with a 20 yr non parole period???? Do you call that justice because i surely dont |

If someone stands up and says yes I am guilty of the said crime then yes I agree with the death penalty.If other cases are proven beyond a doubt throught the many appeals processes our Government now offers to criminals ( notice the families of victims dont have the same appeal rights )usually the appeals process lasts on average 7 years. Surely technology and lawyers can prove there innocense in that period.
I also think there should be someone who polices the sentences handed down by the courts. Its amazing how many gets a slap on the wrist 20 times before they are considered a naughty boy/girl.
Crimes against kids and elderly really get to me.... |

I did say "a perceived or ACTUAL wrong doing".
I see what you're saying but that doesn't change what I said - it's purely revenge.
Revenge is like a cheeseburger: not too bad for a brief period of time but in the long run it's extremely unsatisfying. |

| I hate to tell everyone this but if you'd spend a few minutes checking out sentencing statistics you'll find that these days if you're convicted of a crime you're much more likely to be jailed and for a longer period than in previous years. |

Unicorn - I don't pretend to be a saint. If it was someone I loved that was killed & there was no doubt as to the killer, I would actively oppose the death penalty. I would make gifts to lifers at the same prison with the promise that the gifts will continue provided that person suffers ever day of their life. If they tried to kill themself I would pay doctors to bring them back to health, then up my payments to those on the inside to ensure their suffering intensified.
Death is too quick for those that commit the kind of crimes we are talking about. They should suffer every day. The same way the families of victims suffer.
And yes, that's about revenge. Not justice. |

| what also gets to me is if ur given a sentence in this country and you have good behaviour they will shave time off your sentence what a joke. What do they class as good behaviour???? Calling prison guards "sir" thats classed as good behaviour |

| I have a close friend who is a prison officer up here in Townsville and who has a number of repeat criminals who are back in jail usually within 72 hours of being released. They commit another crime within that time appear in court and go back to full time health care three meals a day a bed and clothes plenty of companionship. These are people who cant adapt to society. And a few have commited serious crimes so there sentences are longer than the year or two they are used to serving. One in particular just done a bad assault and armed robbery to confirm his room and board for another 8 years. |
