Just when you think the Unesco people have reached the upper limit of their criminal mindset, a new document emerges that proves you wrong.
An abject draft report on âInternational Guidelines on Sexuality Educationâ proposes desensitizing children as young as 5 to the concepts of masturbation and preparing them incrementally for the possibility of an abortion. Although the report sparked a mild controversy in the beginning of September, the final âConference Ready Versionâ of the report has not removed the proposals.

The reason given for all this is âHIV preventionâ in order to achieve âUniversal Access Targets.â According to the Ecker and Kirby, the first thing to impress upon 5 year old children (under the header âKey Ideasâ) is that âmany different kinds of families exist around the world (e.g. two-parent, single parent, child-headed, guardian-headed, extended and nuclear families, same-sex couple parents, etc.).â
Proposed as âKey Ideasâ to impress the impressionable with are, in the age range of 5 to 8:
âPeople receive messages about sex, gender and sexuality from their cultures and religionsâ.
âHow harmful cultural/traditional practices affect health and well-being.â
âDifference between consensual sexual activity and forced sex.â
âGirls and boys have private body parts that can feel pleasurable when touched by oneself.â
âTouching and rubbing oneâs genitals is called masturbation.â
âSome people masturbate and some do not.â
âBodies can feel good when touched.â
âSome people are unable to care for a child.â
The last-mentioned âKey Ideaâ is obviously meant to prepare the children for the possibility of an abortion- for one of the âKey Ideasâ mentioned in a later age range, 9 to 12, includes âdefinition of abortionâ and âlegal status of abortion locally and globallyâ. The learning curve is complete when the authors propose, in the age range of 15 to 18, âadvocacy to promote the right to and access to safe abortion.â |

| personally I would prefer that parents taught their young children these things, less intrusive..at least before 10.. and the education very much needs to be age sensitive, but by far the best protection in your supervision. This is not happening in all cases, hence the prevalence of this problem |
