Well me and my friend came up with a theory.. hehe.
Jacob is a shapeshifter and he helps people.
Like how Locke was in the mass grave and then he was about to shoot himself and then walt appeared and said. "you've got work to do."
Well he was trying to get Locke to help him protect the Island...... |

| to back up that he is a shape shifter, when ben took locke to his hut he didn't want to be seen, and when the others are around walt appears and tells them to be quiet, walt being jacob being the smoke monster... and all the people that appear on the island that shouldnt be there like jacks dad and yemi... this was also thought of by my friend who comes up with the best theroys. :] |

| What if Locke is going crazy; delusional if you will. What if it Walt wasn't real but a figment of Locke's head. We as the audience see it from Locke's prespective, but are lead to beleive we are a thired party watching from elsewere. |

but locke isn't the only character to have had walt encounters. shannon & sayid have also, in an earlier series.
i like this shapeshifter theory. its not flawless, but it does tie together a lot of phenomena. |

| Last time we saw Walt, he was dripping wet, when it wasn't even raining the first time we saw him. Why was he dripping wet? and saying don't push the button, if that was Jacob, Jacob must not profit by the button being pushed. We are still yet to definently know what the button actually does, yes it tones down the electromagnetic activity but how would a computer help?? |

| In the only time that we see jacob, if you pause the scene he looks a lot like Horace Goodspeed,(although you can't see Jacob's whole face) and horace was also making the cabin, so it would make sense that he was living in it. |
