Re:The Island Retirement Village
Oh I know lovey, I know....a let down tonight, in some ways, although it was good to have the solid run of recaps etc.

We see the "monster" next week. I am so over it being a monster, don't know why....

My fiance reckons the ending is going to be like the Matrix - nothing... :-( I hope he's wrong...he doesn't even watch Lost but I was giving him a rundown of it this afternoon, and telling him some of the theories that are floating around at the moment, and that's what he said. He also said he likes the clone theory (srsen!!!). He's doing genetics etc at Uni at the moment, so is right into that way of thinking at the moment.

Re:The Island Retirement Village
May I join in? Most to the point threads I've read on this site.

Maybe Tom Cruise suggested the stupid "special" to cross promomte his baby, movie or some other self-centred reason.

The possible explanations in the summaries are cool- hadn't thought of the twin thing- interesting. But I reckon Kezrach is on it. I think they all are in the hospital, undergoing some sort of therapy or research project, where they are experiencing a collective experience, thru a virtual reality, administered thru a computer or drugs, or hynosis or some other mind control mechanism. I think their experiences are crossing over in flashbacks for this reason, and the collective conciousness includes this too. Perhaps the virus is either a computer virus that attacked the program, and effected those undergoing that therapy previously.

This may also account for the whispers- people working in the real world, researchers, or perhaps people trapped in the "matrix".

Re:The Island Retirement Village
I don't know how legit that website is, now that I'm looking at it again.

I think it's the one TMT said she is pretty sure is a fake...

Hrmm...can anyone remember? Where is TMT, btw? She's been really quiet lately...missing her input.

Her room's ready and waiting....

Re:The Island Retirement Village
Eganfarmer, I thought the virtual reality thing was the go ages ago, but I'm pretty sure the "Computor says no" (Producers) I mean. But the idea works really well with everything, I agree.

Re:The Island Retirement Village
Oooooh eganfarmer....don't know if that sort of theory is what we're after around here....sorry!

I'm not sure how come you think that's what I'm getting at, either, because I am dead-set against a collective dream or reality sort of thing.

I firmly believe that they're physically on the island (yes, I know I could be wrong but that's what I think).

Although it is not a bad theory and does have some sense & logic to it, it's just not one I agree with, and I'm trying to steer clear of that sort of thing on this thread.

Sorry if I hurt your feelings! I didn't mean to! And you're most welcome to come back here, just try and be a bit more literal, kind of thing...if you get what I mean...

Sorry! I'm not really mean! Not all the time, anyway...

Re:The Island Retirement Village
Yes please LDE!
May I just ask, if we are assuming that this ‘island’ IS a set up, are the flashbacks real or memory implants?

Re:The Island Retirement Village
And eganfarmer, I think you're right re: Tom Cruise...*sigh*

Oh wait I have the answer - Tom Cruise is behind the whole series, and it will be about Scientologists saving the world and making people go through some sort of trial (like crashing on an island) to pass the test to gain entrance into their version of eternity....you know...and the ones that don't get sick have made it. (Did anyone else see that interview where he said he hasn't been sick for so long he can't remember, and that's because he's reached some certain level in belief or something....).

Re:The Island Retirement Village
OK LET'S TALK ABOUT THE IMPLANTED MEMORY THING THEN.

But we're not allowed to get side-tracked on it.

I reckon, they'd be implants.

No, no new theories. Still sticking to my guns that there's a very simple, but exciting & interesting, explanation to it all. There will be a twist (hopefully), but it won't be anything too out there.

It will make us all go "Oooooooh!!!!! That so could happen in real life!!!" and then all these conspiracy theories will start up.

Re:The Island Retirement Village
No I'm not hurt, but I didn't realise your retirement village was donominational, in a theological sense. I'll retrive my application and resign to observatory.

PS. I'm sure the whole island was created using intelligent design.

Re:The Island Retirement Village
Kez agree! Wouldn't surprise me at all to find out Tommy is silent money partner for series. Clue may be hidden in clip tho anyone got slowmo? If this ends the same way the Matrix did....I will need to be wheeled back to my wee beddy, wearing a straight jacket and a nappy!

Re:The Island Retirement Village
Other than what Michaels said too his Mum about Walt...not really...except that I'm thinking that the button pushing thing has definitely got to have something to do with a flyby satellite. Maybe a defence satellite. If Dharma/Hanso have been messing around since the seventies could be an old STARWARS missile satellite... Desmond says "We're saving the world"Especially considering that Hanso was a defence contractor?
