Doyle If you like virtual reality thats ok, go with it, explore it, but I think that the island was real. Guess we'll all be banging our heads on a wall at the end.
Srsen, when you come back. I checked out the Flight 213 site. And WHAT THE? It looks like some sort of car pool airplane style. Or did lost somehow merge with The Great Race? Did you get it? Please explain? |

| if we go with the TRASH theory, why would they stage the crash? Perhaps it really was an accident and we'll find a runway soon? Maybe they were being taken to the Island for another purpose and the crash stuffed it all up? Maybe the crash was 'the Incident"? Remember Cindy the Aussie Air hostess, said on the beach when they were talking about the black box recorder, that they had been already flying in the wrong direction for two hours, before the crash. Why? She was definitely "in on it" I reckon. Conveniently "rescued".Do we know why the plane was flying for two hrs in the wrong direction? |

| And yes it is also bothering me why the *** pit end of the plane has not been either revisited or investigated. If the pilot survived...maybe others did? Sure the monster would have scared the hell out of em, decorating the trees with body bits , etc. Suppose any passengers would have been sucked out. but when they climbed thru to the *** pit, weren't there still seats in tact? |

| Hey LDE. Nice nap? Hope the bedsores are better today. Got one hour before the WOW gamers kick me off the computer. Long time since I read the Stand. You'll have to cast Trash for me if it's fresher in your mind but glad you picked the reference. Smart girl! Since kitty told of the scene with person holding a polar bear, I have this picture in my head with a room of survivors sitting in a circle of chairs turning objects over in their hands. Polar Bear, model airplane, wedding ring, miniture Tequila, knives. Maybe the items which flash with the associated seats on the oceanair site. These are props to jog island memories. Similarly could there also be props to bring them back to consciousness eg toy black horse, jar peanut butter. |

| Good new idea! The plane crashing when it was supposed to land. Shows Dharma is can make mistakes. Remember the car we could see in the background when Goodwin and Ana were on the hilltop? Maybe that was the airport shuttle bus. HA |

In the beginning Kate was desperate to retrieve her luggage, mostly for that little plane. Can't remember what ep...but I'm sure someone else will! The little plane belonged to her Boyfriend/husband whom she shot and killed during a robbery. It was all she had left of him. We are shown the robbery and she kills him in cold blood to save herself, but obviously loved him.
Someine said something way back a few pages that all of the survivors, or most of them, have something they have done, that has caused either death or trauma to someone else... I agree that could be akey element to the whole thing too. |

Yup it could just have been a blooper. But I froze the sequence and watched it over. Definately a car driving along a road in the far distance.
Medical microbiology. Mostly: culture, isolating and identifying bacteria and testing for effective antibiotics.
I don't do genetics or DNA testing but studied it as part of my course. Did previously wonder if the numbers could be chromosone related as humans have 23 pairs and it was supposed to be the important number. But like all of us the numbers seem to be a stumbling block. Dharma could be researching genetic modification and thos could be the gene numbers that they are working on.
Drambuie with ice please. Ma heid's burstin. |

Ah, it all comes back. Yes, getting that plane back was a huge panic for her. (Don't really want ot go down the cloning path again) But maybe it really was all she had left of her boyfriend. His blood on the plane. She's taking it to Dharma for a Pet sematory thing. ( Stephen King again! Is he in the credits at the end?)Maybe their all bringing the people they have caused to die to dharma to give them life and wipe away their guilt.
Yes I know I'm going silly and offcentre here but sometimes it sparks of someone elses more sensible idea! |

So funny I have got to say it out loud to type phonetically. Everyone here thinks I'm talking to myself. Well fits with the village.
Tried fitting the numbers to the number of chromosone pairs of the animals on the island, polar bear, horse, boar a while back but no luck. |

I dunno if anyone's mentioned this but the picture of the building on the oceanic world air website http://oceanicworldair.com/SRI1.jpg
looks a lot like the hanso logo.
Also the Dharma logo is a direct copy of a thing called a ba gua. A ba gua is a diagram used in feng shui. It's like when psychics use a mirror ball to find out stuff, feng shui people use ba gua, i think. You can look it up on google. |

Just dropping in, I know you're all out, but I'm going out tonight. Just finished reading this HUMONGOUS thing! And have something:
Now, it was a bit further back in here but someone said something about the “Others” on the boat and I just triggered a thought that has probably been brought up many times it’s so obvious, but just bare with me as I have just noticed.
The ‘Others’ that stole Walt weren’t heading towards the raft until Michael, or who ever it was, used the flare to get their attention. This was obviously a mistake on his behalf, but what would have happened if they didn’t use the flare?? Would these “Others” just turned around or kept on going? Because I believe that they were out there to stop the Rafties from venturing to far from the Island...
Lostdaedge – I have made you this wonderful scarf as a reward for finding my knitting needles, I’m very grateful! :-D |

interesting point polar, or where they following the rafties from a distance all along??
here's my next installment of podcast stuff. they discuss the 23rd Psalm ep which is on next week, i did put a little bit about it mainly for you guys to take note of something in the episode, its always good to record these things so you can play it back later, or, the pictures you'll be after are on many U.S forums...
p.s srsen, i havne' read the Stand, saw the movie loooong time ago so i'm just going on what you've been writing, could the ravens in the Stand be referring to the Others on the island?? watching over everything??
Podcast 4
Talking about the episode Collision - they hope that the audience will have a better understanding of why Ana-Lucia is the way she is, because she got shot and lost her unborn child - emotional issues... developed a bit more sympathy for her
going forward in the series, the relationship between Locke and Eko is really going to be a central focus of the show and the different viewpoint that those characters have is something that will really come into play as we go downstream.
we really don't know much about Eko at this point other than he carries this stick around that has great significance and he's a man of few words and those words are very significant in terms of who he himself is.... you'll get a much more fundamental idea of why he and Locke are going to become one of the sort of seminal, mystical relationships powering us through the rest of the season.
... watch the stick... what Eko writes on it is a big clue to who he is... we'll have an episode that features the stick's flashback...
they go on and discuss metaphors for Kate’s emotional state - tsunami of emotion, cyclonic wave of emotion, Carlton mentions that a cyclone is the like a hurricane but in the southern hemisphere and Damon says 'well, they are in the southern hemisphere, I guess' |

questions...
can we expect flashbacks from any of the guests on the show, eg Rose, Bernard, Desmond, Danielle?
We think it would be great to do that at some point, particularly with Desmond, he will be coming back and were very interested in knowing more about Desmond... why did he run away... unless he had another plan...we'd wanna see some flashbacks... About Rousseau, we've talked about doing an episode entirely in French, she's referred to all sorts of misadventures she's had on the island before we came running into her including the sickness that swept through her research crew, the murder of her lover Robert and most importantly the story of Montand's lost arm which we've been itching to tell. Is there any connection to Montand's lost arm and the fact that Dr Candle has a fake arm? I don't know, is there? we also found a glass eye. People lose body parts on the island easily.
question
How much does the speculation from fans on the message boards change of effect the writing of the show?
we are very interested in what is going on on the boards - filtered down from writing staff... Damon frequents the fuselage.com always interested in what the fans come up with, what theories are out there, how close they get to the truth. the 1st 3 eps in season 2 focused on the hatch because that's what the fans wanted. pay attention to the Hanso Foundation, they have a website www.hansofoundation.org it's a good place to visit, more on that to come. [that’s just another forum]
Podcast 5
they discuss the process from writing to shooting the episode, and why there are reruns on tv. they've got 52 weeks to put 24 eps on tv, each ep takes 3-4 weeks. physically can't make any more episodes |

| the monster is back, and bigger and badder than ever so we'll be seeing more of the monster than we've ever seen before. we wanted to show you a little bit more about the monster, add maybe another little piece about the mythology of the monster, and the story we tell about Eko is obviously sort of thematically linked to the monster for reasons we are not entirely aware of just after this episode, he's a somewhat mystical and interesting character and for him to have his first monster experience in the same way that Locke had his first monster experience way back in 'Walkabout' especially since Locke and Eko are sort of on this sort of very similar path until they decide to go off on different directions. we thought bringing the monster back was a pretty cool idea. a little bit of monster goes a long way. and we’ll be learning about the monster, there will be more for the fans to intuit about it, there is going to be one shot where i would get your video tapes, dvds ready for that sequence, there will be a lot of chatter of what that means. this will confirm some people's theories and confound others. i think it will add a level of understanding of how the monster functions. but still leaving some of the mystery there |
