Apparently they write from episode to episode, so it's not like it's all planned out anyway....(I think TMT included parts of a podcast in this thread a couple of pages back and they mentioned that). |

and you know what? i think is was srsen you brought it up yesterday or the day before, but how can we even be SURE they're on an island? none of them have actually tried to get around the whole island, or even try and discover more of it.
i think if i was on an island and there were "other" people on it, i'd try and find where they were coming from... |

Hi folks hope you dont mind me joining your group now and then, but this show is driving me crazy and if I dont get things out there my brain is going to explode.
I saw a post earlier about the end of 1st season when Danielle warned about the others coming. I thought it was ressolved and that they were after Walt and the decision to take Walt on the raft was a last minute decision. |

ok, so we havent looked closely enough at what TMT took so long to write bout the podcasts. my thoughts from these:
FIfty First Dates reference: ive been racking my brain and i think i know a way this could tie in. AND it kinda fits into the hypnosis/remembering drug idea. they were drugged by dharma or others or whoever and hence remember nothing. maybe the producers wanted to have this huge scene where all the surviving survivors actually recall EVERYTHING that happened on the island (while in mental instsitute after island). imagine how powerful that scene would be!!
The Stand on an ISland comment: ok so what part of the STand did they rip off? in The Stand 99.94% of Earths population has been killed by a superbug. could the earths population be killed off in Lost? in The Stand we follow the sotries of two groups of survivors, an obvious Lost similarity there. In the Stand the survivors are all brought together by dreams, a single unfiying force. the same has happened in Lost, but what? probably Dharma. in THe Stand the baddy, Randall Flagg, can shape shift and ravens are evil and his eyes so to speak. do shpeshifting and ravens play similar roles in lost? |

ok also that srigenetics website. very interesting but i read on another thread that it was viral marketing for Blade 3. so scratch it off.
also someone said about the Jin/Sun language thing. that was a really good point. the fact that there is no subtitles when they talk to people other than themselves because the other people didnt know what they said and becase they are in hypnosis they still dont.yeah good stuff.
also in the podcasts they said they spoke about ALiens alot... why? something to do with babies or maye they are breeding people/monsters/ weird stuff in a similar to how the Aliens breed and lay their eggs.
isnt it interesting how the three biggest sources of potential answers have been almost ignored by all of us becauase, right now, they seem to much to tackle.
1) mythology - we know how important they say it is but we dont think bout it much anymore
2) the numbers - think we have stopped trying with them
3)the connections - sure, we've touched on them with the hospital, and maybe the connections have to do with the hypnosis thing.
it just sems that (maybe intentionally) not much has been given out bout these areas and they are the biggest things according to the producers. |

Hi Guys, I have been reading your posts for weeks now and haven't had anything to add, they are that thorough. What I was wondering though about the "others coming when there was black smoke" thing, is... Weren't they blowing the Hatch open so everyone could be safe and hide in there. WE KNOW the others came for Walt and not them, but THEY DIDN'T know that Walt was captured, yet they still didn't hide in the hatch. Why? Maybe has already been answered but I haven't seen it that I remember.
Great threads you have too, I have enjoyed reading them, even though I should be working! |

LDE & Srsen I agree , the survivors were given an amnesic drug before leaving the island. Note how Clair & Charlie suffer amnesia about their experience with the others.
The Stand reference - Interesting that the phsically weakest character Abigail is the strongest spiritually and their salvation. Who is it on Lost: Aaron,Walt?
LDE,Kitty&Kez, Yes there seems to be one piece that just doesn't fit in each theory. If the writers are making it up each week, it gives us a whole lot of possibilities and a way out, for the writers, to allow them to choose the answer at the very end.
(micro pouts prettily) Having initially suggested that they are in the institute now and going through their memories (credit to Srsen for Hypnosis) I would like to suggest that we give this theory a name in order to make reference to it more easily. How about.. jokingly..
Survivors Against Dharma Post Escape, Retirement Village, Experience Retrieval Theory.
Or more seriously...
Timeline Reversal And Survivor Hypnosis.

| hey ppl this is an awsome discussion board.. im liking the ideas of all the survivors being administered a drug before getting on the plane.. then the plane crash being a simulated event and yeh the wispers being just the normal outside world but the characters being in a virtual world..hence all the abnormalities like the 'monsters' polar bears, t-rex, etc... and how many other children were there on the island other than walt?? maybe the children are being taken by 'the others' so that they are woken up (to go back to the normal outside world...eh confusing) only adults are left on the island ... because its dangers? maybe? im not sure u guys are the experts!! |

Hey micro lost thanx for the Drambuie! Bit early in the day for me yet. I like the post traumatic recovery thing and the Names u just made up for it, so which is it? TRASH is good, reminds me of Trashcan Man! Who do you think would be HIS equivalent on the Island?
I'm having problems with the theory though..trying to rationalise. I also like the idea of false memory implants. However, the memories have never actually been referred to as such, only "Flashbacks". How do we know the characters are actually remembering these things? EG: When Kate saw the black horse, a reaction was actually triggered, but she seemed very confused about it, at first. Then we get the "flashback" to a time in her life that was extrememly traumatic. Then the horse allowed her to pat it and disappeared. Perhaps the monster, and all the other things happening on the Island are being used as deliberate triggers, to allow these ppl to remember and recover?? I'm so confused...there's too much grey area.
I had another idea pop in there that fit with this but couldn't type fast enough, to let it out. Unless I nail it asap, have to chase back thru the forest that is the neuron pathways of my brain. Need more time to think it thru. |
