Re:The Island Retirement Village
I read all these posts during the day, and its all too confusing, and giving me a headache. There are too many theories, I want to know what the story line is now, so then I don't have to worry about it anymore.

The re-cap ep. didn't give me any more incentive that its going to get better, and the plot would be revealed.

Is there anyone out there that has watched all the episodes - Is it worth it to keep watching?

Re:The Island Retirement Village
Yup, Srsen, I think we've cracked it. I am convinced of the retrospective memories from the survivors in the institute. The whole Dharma Hanso thing is confusing the hell out of me especially as I don't trawl the web incase of spoilers and when I read on this site information about people or facts that have not appeared on the tv episodes yet i'm pretty confused.

Re:The Island Retirement Village
I really think u guys are on to something here! I was reading through lostpedia and in the section about Santa Rose it says there is a patient playing with a stuffed polar bear.(I assume this is in a flashback from a future episode.)

Re:The Island Retirement Village
YEEESSSS! Kitty. If they have amnesia due to trauma. They would be given objects to handle which hopefully would bring repressed memories to the surface. Way to go Kitty!thanks.

Re:The Island Retirement Village
also it explains why characters 'die'....they've really had a breakthrough in therapy and have left.....

Re:The Island Retirement Village
hey! this theory could also explain why only some of them are aging/growing hair/etc. maybe their imaginations are all different so only some are thinking bout that consciously. altho i hear that this season we find out why Hurley hasnt lost weight. so that could destroy my whole line of thought. unless its something like its heriditary and he never losses weight. i mean there is no doubt that Jack has not grown any facial hair at all, no doubt, but Sawyers hair has ABSOLUTLEY grown. this could SO explain this weird little mystery

Re:The Island Retirement Village
yeah i think this is the first really substantial theory. I wonder where Dharma fits into all this though?

Re:The Island Retirement Village
yeah, break through in therapy = die BUT this isnt therapy. this is hypnosis to recall events. if someone died on the island they wouldnt be in therapy. oh well (thought the theory was dead then) i dont think EVERYONE is in on this hypnosis. maybe on the FINAL survivors, who could be Jack, Hurley, Locke, Kate (i hope not she sh1ts me) are in on it and thats why THEY"RE features dont change or something. copuld this mean all characters who are 'aging' will eventually die? hmm another layer to the theory

Re:The Island Retirement Village
Hey Gotsojen, I felt the same way. I am up to episode 19 at the moment and I can tell you that is definately IS worth watching. In the next 2-3 episodes (10 - 12)some very interesting things happen that will put some of these "theories" to bed.

Re:The Island Retirement Village
yeah thats true....although (and this my be too technical and not worth worrying about)how are we seeing the memories of survivors when they're alone if they're dead and not there to tell it? I hope that makes sense!

Re:The Island Retirement Village
Dharma is still a mystery in this theory./ they havent got to the bit where they recall what Dharma and Hanso are. in fact, they still dont know themselves. thats why they are being put throught hypnosis, to try and determine exactly what happened on the island and WHO the island inhabitants are and maybe even where the island is.
damn this sounds bad, but this has actually got me really excited. i will keep believeing until someone or something disproves it. as far as my memory goes, nothing has yet.

AND it would make sense coz there is two stories here. WHat is Dharma Hanso and the fact the survivors escaped and are reliving it all. this could give the show true longevity. from a producer/writer stand point it works. and that is one thing that HAS to happen. the theory HAS to make sense form that perspective!

Re:The Island Retirement Village
mmmm I really like this train of thought regarding the institution etc. what I am curious about is where does Locke fit in all of this? He definetely seems to be the one who knows more than any of them?

Re:The Island Retirement Village
I've always wondered about the cast of "extras" that appear in the background on the island. Could the fact that we are only seeing the main characters memories be the reason why the non speaking extras' pre-flight life stories are not revealed. That would support the memory retrieval theory.

Re:The Island Retirement Village
hmmmm good point bout them being dead and not there to tell. maybe its just stroytelling by the writers/producers to give us background and only the actual stuff on the island is the memory/hypnosis. possible.

but hmmmmmmm thats depressing, you say that in a few weeks this theory will be put to bed. a shame, but ill believe it till then!

Re:The Island Retirement Village
i'm not sure how it will be put to bed in a few weeks, i haven't watched future eps but have read a few spoilers here and there and can't see anything there that will disprove it.
but we'll just have to wait and see.

Re:The Island Retirement Village
Series one- survival on island to discovery of hatch.
Series two- may end with escape/rescue?
Series three- In the institute/investigating dharma?
Yes,this could extend the series just as in prisonbreak which continues after the escape.
Apologies to those that have jumped ahead in series two if I got that wrong!

Re:The Island Retirement Village
Srsen, The whole fun is in working through the clues as we are given them. So what if our theories are disproved later on. We did the best we could with the information we have at this time. With respect, for those of you who have seen into the future enjoy our process without dashing our ideas with spoilers.(Please?) We will allow you, however, to quietly smirk when we go wide of the mark.
When our theories are proven wrong, we will regroup! We will rethink We will unite! We will be lost again. HaHa

Re:The Island Retirement Village
Hope so Kitty. Wouldn't it be great if we had solved it to some extent? We could all say "you saw it here first"
Just don't tell the producers or they'll turn it all on it's head!

Re:The Island Retirement Village
yeah that would be awesome! i reckon that's so true about the producers! the show is so opened ended there's so many ways they could go with it. anyway thanks to all for the brainstorm session it was fun. i'm about to finish work (imagine if our bosses knew what they were really paying us for! oops!) will def be back soon to see how this develops!
