alright, now stay with me here, this is WAY out there and i'm so ready for this to be dismissed, but, IF everyone is in Santa Rosa under some kind of group hypno-therapy thing, perhaps Desmond was injecting himself to somehow, maybe, not be influenced by what ever it is that everyone else is on/under?? anyone? anyone?

Re:The Island Retirement Village
No, I'm not saying the insurance company was "in on it" I'm saying that in real life there are unofficial agreements between companies that provide little "bonuses" for those in control of which provider they use. Hence why all the survivors would be given free treatment at the one facility. Plus they can then do group therapy.
I see what you are saying Ken' about Jack and Rose's conversation. For her to say he was in the toilet at the back OF THE PLANE infers that they are having this conversation at a later date off the plane.

FLIGHT ATTENDANT: Ladies and gentleman, the pilot has put on the fasten seatbelt signs. Please return to your seats and fasten your seatbelts.

JACK [to Rose]: It's normal.

ROSE: Oh, I know. I've just never been a very good flyer. My husband keeps reminding me that planes want to be in the air.

JACK: Well, he sounds like a very smart man.

ROSE: I'll be sure and tell him that when he gets back from the bathroom.

[The plane is really shaking now.]

JACK: Well, I'll keep you company until he does. Don't worry it's going to be over:

Re:The Island Retirement Village
right ,yep thats it. games over, ive got it guys. pull out your dentures, get comfy in your favourite wheelchair, i think i have it:

The island happened, it was real.
The plane crash was staged.
The events we watch week in and week out on the island did happen.
They were recruited for a purpose, and Dharma and Hanos were spearheading that
The island IS based in 2004.
HOWEVER they found a way to escape.
they were on the island for four years (until 2009)
they are all at Santa Rosa institute, under hypnosis to try and recreate the events on the island because - like Claire - none of them ahd any recolection of what went on on the island.
the events and reasons for the vents on the island are still unknown to them (due to the amnesia) and doctors/officiails are supervising the group hypnosis to try and help them all to remember what happened.
you could call it hypnosis or Medical Resonance Imagining (perhaps)
once they have told the full story, up until the end of their time on the island, where they escaped and were rescued, the show will cut to the mental institute with all them in chairs.
there will be people VERY interested in what they have to say bcoz they need Dharma destroyed due to their experiments.

you fill in the rest of the gaps, it all makes sense. the whispers always happen when things get excitign becuas the whole group is recalling a traumatic event all at once and brains are getting highly stimulated.

yep, thats it i know it, im off to take my meds....

but not everyone experienced the whispers - sometimes it was just one person. how could everyone recall an event that only one persone experienced?

apart from that - i kinda like it! it's kooky!

Re:The Island Retirement Village
[Shot of Charlie looking back down the aisle to see some Flight Attendants talking in the back of the plane. One Flight Attendant starts walking toward Charlie who bolts. Charlie's trying to get into a bathroom, but they are locked. He bolts again away from the Flight Attendants that are following him. He's goes through the row where Shannon and Boone are. Shannon says, "Excuse me," in an annoyed voice. The turbulence starts. Flight Attendent makes her announcement about returning to your seat. Charlie gets into a bathroom and locks the door. He takes off his shoe to reveal a baggy of heroine.]

FLIGHT ATTENDANT [through the bathroom door]: Sir, are you alright?

CHARLIE: Just a minute. [Charlie takes some of the drugs. We hear knocking.] Just a minute.

FLIGHT ATTENDANT: I'm going to have to ask that you open the door, please.

[Charlie looking into the mirror with a drugged out/relieved look on his face. We hear more knocking.]

FLIGHT ATTENDANT: Open the door now, sir.

[Charlie drops the drugs into the sink, then goes to open the cabinet beneath (presumably to make the drugs fall down there?) Suddenly there's a big jolt of turbulence, and Charlie goes flying into the ceiling. He opens the door and falls down with a food cart rolling toward him. He rolls out of the way just in time, crawls to a seat and puts the seatbelt and oxygen mask on.]

after he misses being hit by the food cart, he crawls from the front bit of the plane where that toilet is to the next section of the plane (where Boone & Shannon are)

Re:The Island Retirement Village
i dunno, good point, maybe the whispers are related simply to exciting parts. like, hey maybe if they are getting confused with their own memory, they are not as clear to the story, other parts of their island experience come flooding back. maybe the whispers have something to do other experiences in their life that remind them of certain things they are relving. like when sawyer keeps hearing 'it'll come back around' whispered and we then discover the real Sawyer said that to him when he killed him. the whispers are in everyones head. has anyone said they heard THE SAME whisper yet?

Re:The Island Retirement Village
sandle, what i am saying is that the island events WERE real and DID happen. we are simply seeing their hypnoitc flashbacks of the events that occured on the island as opposed to actually seeing the events unfold in real time. do you understand what i mean? hey actually that could explain why sometimes things seem slightly out of order, time wise. becuase they are recollections of events. i think this theory does make sense myself and am going to work on it.

Re:The Island Retirement Village
oh oh oh theres also that thing off the oceanic website - the real one - that has a picture of an eye and says 'Eko. is.' then the eye goes away. that could definitely link to hypnosis of some kind.
kezrach, what do you think bout this? its kinda a better version of the group unconcious therapy experiment thing but better coz it means it all really happened and that there IS an island mystery and crazy experiements and research

Re:The Island Retirement Village
Sandeland47, If you read what we are all saying carefully you will realise that we are NOT saying that it was all a dream. We are saying that the events are being shown as REAL memories related from a point in the future off the island. That the island did happen. So we are not "on that topic"
